D. Jeremiah has Bama LT Kadyn Proctor for the Browns at #24 Overall
-
First, I'm not asking anyone to be a Jeremiah fan here today. That said, he's picking Kadyn Proctor to be the Browns answer at LT in this draft. As a guy that needs his day job - I think Proctor will end up being a reliable starting OG like Robert Gallery once became when he was misdrafted to set the edge of pass pro for the Raiders. Proctor looks like he can become the next Nate Newton at OG on a team that is accustomed to having Pro Bowl Guards in Cleveland (Bitonio & Teller). Just being honest here, I'd rather listen to @tiamat63 analyzing the film because there's a lot of guys out there analyzing film about positions they have no awareness of all the different blocking combos Guards & Tackles can use against various DL positioning/techniques. They'll tell their audience a LT missed his guy lining up on the LT's outside shoulder when that LT had a guy on his inside shoulder closer to football & QB so he MADE the block the narrator couldn't understand. Some of these narrators just don't know basic man blocking rules or the rights and wrongs of pass protection that comes with experience playing (inclusive of attending multiple football camps), coaching or whatever. God bless them for their passion and trying to narrate with the best of their ability as well as their good choice of film to use (meaning they can still give you something worth viewing if you take some of their lack of experience in the trenches with a grain of salt).

In no particular order, I've already begun working on the top 25 SPS graded players for this upcoming draft. Due to the limitations of the grading system, we're working on developing the model to include IOL, OT, IDL & Edge play. Sadly, there won't be lineman added until next year.
The first one I have is Ty Simpson, so it works out that I get to watch Proctor as well. My initial viewing was a mixed bag. I saw good athletic ability for a dude that size, but is it enough to play OT in the NFL? And just parking that sort of size in the middle isn't always the answer. There's a bad history of big bodied Bama OTs under Saban --> struggling at the NFL level.
I'll have more for you guys in the coming days.
edit: This reminds me, given the 1st year disaster that was Shemar Stewart, I need to go back & check my hit rate when in disagreement with Daniel Jeremiah.
