"No! They're not pedofiles! The girls were 14-17 years old, that's not pedofilia! Stupid!"

    Same type of response hahaha

And multiple desperate attempts from Gorka begging for my response. I'd suggest a hobby

What the hell are you talking about?

As you point out, neither of the two organizations mentioned above are part of ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement), but is what you have correctly pointed out, significant to the issue?

(I do not have any information what you said about the officers' alleged racial views.)

CBP (Customs and Border Protection) and ICE are branches of the same department, DHS, Department of Homeland Security.

I don’t know how significant that it, but they’re essentially under the same umbrella as far as upper leadership and funding goes.

Sure, everything falls under something as some branch or other, but it's not ICE which has been the main focus of the protests and the white supremacist ICE aren't even white. The protest bs kind of falls apart.

I don’t get the impression that “white supremacy” is an overriding focus of protests against ICE or any of their neighboring agencies, though l’m sure you can provide things from the internet suggesting it is.

I suspect it has more to do with their bulldozer approach sweeping through American cities with masks and tear-gas. Debating the motivations of people we don’t know isn’t a very enlightening exercise imo.

We read whatever we read on it and try to surmise motivations, but all we’re doing is catching glimpses.

Confused as usual. So confused you’re even the wrong thread.

Thats right Woody,  I single you out because I know I’ve got you backed in a corner. So do you.

I’m still waiting for your response to this guy.

I doubt it was the bulldozer approach.

There were protests under Obama  being know as the “deporter in chief”.

So what’s the difference between then and now?

The common denominator is the media, and its history of circling the wagons around Obama.

Whomever controls the media, controls the people. Personally I don’t recall these protests being reported.

It is a common misconception that there were no protests. Under President Obama, who was labeled the "Deporter-in-Chief" by activists:

Massive Demonstrations: In 2010, hundreds of thousands marched nationwide for immigration reform and against enforcement policies like Arizona's SB 1070.

Civil Disobedience: Over 100 faith leaders were arrested outside the White House in 2014 to protest record-high deportation rates.

Public Confrontations: Obama and Hillary Clinton were frequently heckled by immigration activists during public speeches demanding an end to deportations.

    Political and Media Environment

Media Coverage: Critics have noted that mainstream media coverage of deportations was often less intense or framed as a pursuit of "comprehensive reform" under Obama compared to the more confrontational rhetoric used in subsequent administrations.

Party Loyalty: Some analysts argue that because a Democratic president was in office, many traditional liberal organizations were more willing to seek change through private lobbying rather than public outcry.

Ok, so the response was similar 15 years ago but the coverage was different? That could be. I don’t really subscribe to “the media” being a consistent thing over the last several years so l might buy that. I would say right stream media has become a much bigger fish in the last 15 years and therefore left stream media is a little smaller fish. There’s only so many people watching the news.

I don’t know what bearing any of that has if people were protesting the same stuff both then and now.

Are you saying that if right stream media were as big then as it is now, they would have been heavily covering deportations under Obama?

There was little media coverage on the protests subsequent to the mass deportations, and killings of illegals under Obama.

The public response was similar, but the violence was far less. Why? Because Trump is now president.

I realize that I made it sound like the media was solely responsible for the all havoc. It’s partly.

Im saying that the media due to their extreme left wing bias and disdain for Trump exacerbates the problem by adding fuel to the fire. The favoritism for the thug because the ulterior motive is to make Trump and ICE look like the villain. Unlike before,  tear gas and brute force are now required to keep these violent liberal thugs under control.

    Here is something cute.

How the media made Pretti appear more pretty in order to draw more sympathy.

Well right, that’s why l asked if right stream media had been as big then as it is now, would they have been the ones heavily covering deportations under Obama?

I tend to think Obama was a big motivator in the rise of right stream media. Newsmax became a cable channel in 2014. OANN was founded in 2013.

I suppose having a less egg shaped head is a plus. The technology to gussy up photos has been a media trick for a while. Even before filters and photoshop there was airbrushing.

Doesn't have to make any difference at all.

You're the only one that plays gotcha games, we support ICE and anyone deporting illegals no matter what agency.

Border patrol vs ICE is no different in this case. I don't know why you're acting like it is. It's all the overreach and militant nature of DHS

And I'm not sure where this "ha! they're Hispanic!" shit is coming from.  Why should I care again?

    I’ll tell you what’s different.
What is different is that it was ICE specifically, a group you called a bunch of cowboys that  has been under intense scrutiny , not border control agents.

Had two ICE agents rather than two border agents pumped 10 bullets into the rioter, it would help support your views and would further enflame your disdain for them.………..and I would be the one being disappointed, having to consider that you may have a point.
