Who do we have to play the offensive line?
-
If we don't see at least 2 OL FAs signed in the offseason, Berry should be shown the door based on two misses in two years.
-
Teven Jenkins is a FA also... So add Zak Zinter above^^ & few JAG's that signed future deals (lets hope Teller pancaked Berry on his way out the door ?)
LTJones, Dawand 23/4// LUCAS, CORNELIUS U/Wash LG Zinter, Zak 24/3// Green, Kendrick P/Buf C Wypler, Luke 23/6// Eguakun, Kingsley P/Det// Osborne, Justin CF25 RG Conley, Jack OG (future reserve) RT Leveston, KT T/LAR// Byers, Jeremiah P/Arz// Phillips, Tyre OT(future reserve)

Worst of all? Andrew Berry has unchallenged tenure for his inability to understand how important OL is to the overall success of the Offense AFTER/IN-SPITE OF having the opportunity to work for GM Howie Roseman in Philly.
There's a rumor Berry wants to trade for Jax's LT that got benched after giving up his 9th sack last season (with more games to go). He also had something like 12-14 penalties. If that's all Berry wants - is he EVER going to GET IT? Most of our Pro Bowl Repeats weren't drafted by AB - and yes I understand the blind squirrel finally found a nut last year in the draft but OL shouldn't remain the mystery it continues to be here...

At this February moment..
a) Either get LT Rasheed Walker or Braden Smith signed to play LT
b) Get Dawand Jones back to where's he played ... He's a Right Tackle !
c) Have no idea why Joel Bitonio would? But we'd take whats left, as better than other options
d) Sign Guard Teven Jenkins back.. (Jamaree Salyer plan B )
E) Trade with Dallas ! (possible trading 3rd rounder just became our 2nd) Picks 12 20 24 any order WR/Tackle/ now a Guard !

Braden has been a RT his entire professional career.
edit: He has been a steady playing for INDY. But the guy has had some physical & mental health concerns, including mulling retirement, these past couple years.

Good ideas Gumbs. I don't even count Dawand Jones any more for anything. Never shows up in shape = 3 consecutive IR visits. That's 385-400 lbs wasted on 1 empty inner chest... Who studied THAT guy's wok ethic? AB? Has there ever been a FO guy here this far removed from understanding OLine? It's like a foreign language "Tu hablas ass kicksies?
The good thing is I think we can get some vey underrated Cs/OGs between rounds 5 & 7 (ie; Miami's Anez Cooper Big #73 & Texas' DJ Campbell) Also, Iowa has Rimington Award Winner (as Nation's Best Center) Logan Jones that can be had in these rounds as well. That might need someone to step up and put a sleeping pill or 2 in AB's Kiddie Cocktail a couple rounds earlier. Got me a feeling Monken is gonna look like he's aged 10 years by the end of the daft; especially when he sees how horrific AB is at evaluating OL or seeing him very interested in trading for this guy:

Worthy of note, but he came back and Braden a great year in 2025 as did Daniel Jones (prior to injury) as well as Jonathan Taylor.

Of the guys we have, I'd rather not count on any of 'em. Wypler, like Pocic, can tend to be pushed around by the DLinemen. Dewand Jones is the only real player of the bunch, but he'll be on IR before it starts to get cold outside. And, of course, how could we forget, the incomparable, Zak Zinter.
One could argue that we need 5 starting caliber offensive lineman, at this point in time.

which points the Browns to FA, except.... they don't have the cap space to get the players they need. dammit....Berry knows better.....so that means....it's back to haslam.

This IMO is the most interesting storyline from now to Training Camp.
I'm sure they are penciling in Dawand Jones at RT - against most of our good senses - but the rest of the line is up for grabs. Maybe they think Wypler is the center?

Good news--under rookie contract.. Bad news-- Week 17 knee injury
All we got left with, in a season ending win in a January at Natty was... Wypler suffered a traumatic knee injury in 4th qtr...He was replaced by Zak Zinter playing Center...
Let's just hope he's ready at OTA's .. ? (we'd take any good OL news! )
drafted by AB - and yes I understand the blind squirrel finally found a nut last year in the draft but OL shouldn't remain the mystery it continues to be here...
Starting back to when Bill Callahan walked into Berra from 2020 to 2023.. You'd think Berry could sponge something off his OL wit?
OL Drafted since 2020 Callahan era..
Jed Wills 1st round. Nick Harris 5th.
James Hudson 4th.
Dawson Deaton 7th.
Past Callahan exit..
Dawand Jones 4th Luke Wypler 7th
Zak Zinter 3rd
2025 0 drafted...
Berry see's OL like WR's .. Mid to late rounds, with a Wiff on Wills ? Who's scouting these Offensive Lineman? maybe fix that too?

I’m not crazy about rebuilding this WR and OL group 100% through the draft.
Here’s how I’d handle the draft no clue about free agency.
i think #6 could be dangled to a team like the Cowboys. You move back and take your OT. With the additional pick acquired you take another lineman. I don’t want to see more than two rookie OLs on the field in September.
Id make a move for #1 WR so AJ Brown for the 24th pick. If the rumors are true. You get a proven #1 and take the guesswork away from Berry and he compliments the smurfs we have.
i think you have some value at 39 with another WR. Take one here.
And I ship 70 to a team for another lineman. You get a guy that is a proven commodity. And you take the guesswork out of Berrys hands
I havent touched free agency but we have two talented young lineman and younger established lineman.
You have Brown, Jeudy and a talented rookie in the WR room now.

I certainly hope not. Luke was damn near carted off the field against Cincy. Chances are higher that he misses more 2026 time than he actually plays.

Worst of all? Andrew Berry has unchallenged tenure for his inability to understand how important OL is to the overall success of the Offense AFTER/IN-SPITE OF having the opportunity to work for GM Howie Roseman in Philly.

I've heard a rumor that AB trained under Ghoolie for many years.
