he was the 17th overall pick and can play lg or rg and has only missed 2 games since being drafted, that is what i was looking for as i have never heard of him

Durable, 26 y/o, not a liability.  3yr. 49M for the amount of cash getting thrown around today.  This is good.  Charger fans seem to be good riddance but they are notoriously not known for their football IQ

Decent run-blocking guards who are wild passpro liabilities can be drafted in the 6th round.  Yes, Zion was a first-rounder a few seasons ago, but they declined his rookie option for good reason --- he is abysmal at one of the two things a guard needs to do in the sport of football.

The actual question is how much you're paying for whatever skill a player has... and unfortunately this signing is a bad ROI.  If they don't care about passpro, just throw out road-grading rookies, they're always available.

  • Back to Back.. OL again.. Played Center & Guard

Two-time Pro Bowl OL Elgton Jenkins is signing with the Browns on a two-year, $24 million deal with $20M guaranteed, sources tell me and

While I don’t disagree with you…I’ll give some grace as you know the offensive line especially pass protection needs to function as one cohesive unit.  His partner at left tackle Rashawn Slater was lost for the year in training camp, the next then Joe Alt playing out of position was out halfway through the year and then the chargers ran with Salyer.  Maybe this combination had something to do with his low pass blocking win rate?

If he comes back healthy and can start all 17 this was a huge pickup.  This allows you to slow play a day 2 of the draft rookie into the role down the road and not this season.

Where on the line did he play?

Center last year - Guard the prior years where he played really well

Looks like the Browns have filled 3/5th of the OLine starters in the last week or so.

Left Tackle seems like the move with the first pick, hopefully after moving down.

  • Projected Updated OL

As of now, the Browns projected starting offensive looks significantly different than last year. Given that Berry noted that Dawand Jones has a role in 2026, he gets penciled in as the left tackle for now:

    • LT Dawand Jones (or a 1st round pick in 2026)
    • LG Zion Johnson
    • C Elgton Jenkins
    • RG Teven Jenkins
    • RT Tytus Howard

Cleveland also has the following under contract for the offensive line:

    • Zak Zinter
    • Luke Wypler
    • Kendrick Green
    • Jeremiah Byers
    • Kingsley Eguakun
    • KT Leveston
    • Tye Phillips
    • Jack Conley

now for something completely different , how about moving up ? Know not at 6, take Styles or if some crazy reason if Reese is there you have to take him @ six, take BPA on the  OL @ 24 and then either before that pick or after BPA WR or visa versa, its time to draft quality or quantity, its not like we will be super bowl contenders.

I really like Styles, but I have no interest in taking him that high. As much as I would love to put him next to Krautbacker, I feel like a non-pass rushing LB that high is a questionable choice, especially considering our needs. I’d rather take an edge guy - you can never have too many pass rushers.

  • I’m low key happy they resigned Tevin Jenkins. It’s weird that potentially 2 starters on the O-line are named Jenkins.

  • Makes ya wonder...

Todd Monken's first position coach, he hired was OL coach George Warhop.. Warhop has had a good 2 days..

    connecting more dots..

Bobby Johnson is Warhop's Asst OL coach for the Browns.. 2025_Raiders_at_Commanders_74.jpg.f8362eee48782390a05953120c9f7104.jpg

Johnson, had a bird's eye view of all the NFL combine OL-men assisting in OL field drills on Sunday

    ..Back to FA news..

It looks like whoever plays quarterback for the Browns won't have to face Maxx Crosby in a Ravens uniform twice; Baltimore backed out of the trade that would have cost them two first-round picks.  (failed physical?)
  • Just got back from band rehearsal to see that we've signed another OLineman.  Very Good!  Even though the Charger guy can only run block, we've made big strides towards opening up the draft board for us.  Still more to do on the OL...and WR remains a huge issue, but we're getting there.

    -  I notice that Bitonio, Teller & Njoku are still available.

    Isn't Dewand under contract?

At any rate, we will keep at least 2 more roster spots for O line.  With our recent issues with Oline, I could see us keeping 11 O linemen heading in to the season.

? You'd be a great columnist. I'd pay to read stuff like the part in bold above.  That said, reading about the cars/toys you drive probably means you don't need to worry about any part time income beyond your band.  Let's hope some of that was just playing though an injury or trying to compensate for unreliability to the right or left of him.

Unfortunately, Dawand has 3 straight seasons ending on IR followed by knee surgeries.  I don't think we should rely on him any more - especially at LT.  That said, it would be nice to see him show up in great shape at about 350 lbs for once instead of the usual 375-385 lbs that lands him on a pogo stick with crutches every season he's here.  This almost feels like the same kind of tease Josh (Potsie) Gordon once was here in the sense of the talent he COULD offer if he ever prioritized his profession/football.

  • @ballpeen Yes, Dewand is under contract. Jones is penciled in as the starting LT in quote..

I am not saying we should count on him.  I don't know if we can count on any of them. I am only asking if he is under contract.
