Cleveland also has the following under contract for the offensive line:

    • Zak Zinter
    • Luke Wypler
    • Kendrick Green
    • Jeremiah Byers
    • Kingsley Eguakun
    • KT Leveston
    • Tye Phillips
    • Jack Conley

    Isn't Dewand under contract?

At any rate, we will keep at least 2 more roster spots for O line.  With our recent issues with Oline, I could see us keeping 11 O linemen heading in to the season.

Unfortunately, Dawand has 3 straight seasons ending on IR followed by knee surgeries.  I don't think we should rely on him any more - especially at LT.  That said, it would be nice to see him show up in great shape at about 350 lbs for once instead of the usual 375-385 lbs that lands him on a pogo stick with crutches every season he's here.  This almost feels like the same kind of tease Josh (Potsie) Gordon once was here in the sense of the talent he COULD offer if he ever prioritized his profession/football.

I am not saying we should count on him.  I don't know if we can count on any of them. I am only asking if he is under contract.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

I think he is still in his 1st contract.  This will be his 4th season.

Just got back from band rehearsal to see that we've signed another OLineman.  Very Good!  Even though the Charger guy can only run block, we've made big strides towards opening up the draft board for us.  Still more to do on the OL...and WR remains a huge issue, but we're getting there.

        -  I notice that Bitonio, Teller & Njoku are still available.

? You'd be a great columnist. I'd pay to read stuff like the part in bold above.  That said, reading about the cars/toys you drive probably means you don't need to worry about any part time income beyond your band.  Let's hope some of that was just playing though an injury or trying to compensate for unreliability to the right or left of him.

Band income?  What's that?  🙂    We're not wealthy...although Mrs. Wife has told our children, Your father thinks he's rich!  🙂

now for something completely different , how about moving up ? Know not at 6, take Styles or if some crazy reason if Reese is there you have to take him @ six, take BPA on the  OL @ 24 and then either before that pick or after BPA WR or visa versa, its time to draft quality or quantity, its not like we will be super bowl contenders.

I’ve been beating this drum for a couple months.  There are Pro Bowl level/All Pro talents on defense in the top 10.  At LT, I don’t see it at 6 and you could likely take your pick at 24 with a LT.  At WR the sweet spot in this draft is rounds 2-3.  Forcing need picks in top 10 is a great way to return to the top 10 the following year.

Just curious, besides a relative lack of experience from both Freeling and Lomu, what about their games makes you think they are not worth the Browns first pick?

I have a real tough time not drafting Downs or one of the top defensive players, like Styles at 6. I keep imagining that we could trade down with Dallas. They get our #6, and our #24, and we get their #12, and their #20. I suppose they also give us another pick, whatever the values are, later on. So, at 12, we are guaranteed to get one of our LTs we want - like Freeling, and at 20, we would pick just ahead of the steelers, and we could pick Denzel Boston before the steelers do. Something like that.

Sure, one has 17 starts the other has two seasons worth of tape - but excellent workouts but you hear comments like “under construction”.  I’d like to see Polish, Outland Trophy, clean bill of health and near spotless numbers they check the blindside protector box (Top 10 for me)

We are picking the second best guy on team- Fano won the awards.

Freeling had shoulder issues this offseason.  Not something you want to see in your early 20s.  Notre Dame 2025 tape looked pretty spotty too.

                6 - no.  At 24 maybe

Browns adding to tight end room

The Browns will add to their tight end room with blocking-first veteran Jack Stoll.

ESPN first reported that the team has agreed to a deal with Stoll, 28, who played last season in New Orleans.

With longtime tight end David Njoku set to depart and 2025 rookie Harold Fannin Jr.slotted for a spotlight role in new coach Todd Monken’s offense, Stoll fits as an experienced player who can help mostly in the run game.

Stoll, who's also played for the Eagles and Dolphins, has 28 career receptions.

This gets us back to a previous thread somewhere from a month or 2 ago regarding Dallas being a potential good trade back partner where the Browns could pick up another 1st round pick doing so (looks like Cal has a similar idea). We could probably land 2 OTackles and a WR -or- Downs, WR and OTackle with Rounds 2 and 3 on deck.

Not a fan at taking Styles @6. If Reese is (somehow) still there, I am now leaning more towards taking him at 6 than an OLineman. He just smells like a future all-pro. And then we take a LT @ 24 and WR with our 2nd.

D'Angelo Ross is entering his fifth season in the NFL after going undrafted out of New Mexico in 2018. The 5’8” cornerback has played in 36 career games, including seven with the Browns in 2025. Primarily a nickel corner and special teams player, Ross will have a battle with a number of others to make Cleveland’s 53-man roster in 2026.

he was brought in to block, god knows we will need him

Yeah...I know...but I just like my blocking TE's to be more of a weapon than that.

I largely agree with this. If a ringer on defense is available at 6, l’d be happy taking that guy. It’s short list, Reese, Downs, maybe Bailey and l still like Bain.

                                          Giants cut Gilland and Board

The Giants announced that they have officially cut P Jamie Gilland and LB Chris Board. Thought Board might have a shot of sticking around due to his history with Harbaugh, but cutting the vet who suffered a torn pec in Week 2 last season creates $2.1M in cap savings.
