#Browns are re-signing former #Texans corner D'Angelo Ross for 2026 season, per a league source He is represented by

D'Angelo Ross is entering his fifth season in the NFL after going undrafted out of New Mexico in 2018. The 5’8” cornerback has played in 36 career games, including seven with the Browns in 2025. Primarily a nickel corner and special teams player, Ross will have a battle with a number of others to make Cleveland’s 53-man roster in 2026.

In 2022 he caught 11 passes.  In no other year has he caught double digit passes.

he was brought in to block, god knows we will need him

Yeah...I know...but I just like my blocking TE's to be more of a weapon than that.

I’ve been beating this drum for a couple months.  There are Pro Bowl level/All Pro talents on defense in the top 10.  At LT, I don’t see it at 6 and you could likely take your pick at 24 with a LT.  At WR the sweet spot in this draft is rounds 2-3.  Forcing need picks in top 10 is a great way to return to the top 10 the following year.

I have a real tough time not drafting Downs or one of the top defensive players, like Styles at 6. I keep imagining that we could trade down with Dallas. They get our #6, and our #24, and we get their #12, and their #20. I suppose they also give us another pick, whatever the values are, later on. So, at 12, we are guaranteed to get one of our LTs we want - like Freeling, and at 20, we would pick just ahead of the steelers, and we could pick Denzel Boston before the steelers do. Something like that.

I largely agree with this. If a ringer on defense is available at 6, l’d be happy taking that guy. It’s short list, Reese, Downs, maybe Bailey and l still like Bain.

  • Look who’s back, back again.

Jed Wills is back in the NFL, tell some men. Look who’s back, look who’s back.

    Signs with Bears.

  • The Scottish Hammer is back on the market.

    Giants cut Gilland and Board

The Giants announced that they have officially cut P Jamie Gilland and LB Chris Board. Thought Board might have a shot of sticking around due to his history with Harbaugh, but cutting the vet who suffered a torn pec in Week 2 last season creates $2.1M in cap savings.

Here's an example of a VERY good blocking TE (Steve Heiden) that was an ideal duel threat after KWII went Evel Knieval on the motorcycle over speed bumps in the parking lot (to render his knees useless  for blocking).  Steve Heiden showed me all he might have lacked before Cleveland was the opportunity Cleveland felt he needed for dual benefit (him/team).

    I know what you mean.

I guess we really don't know much.  Receptions are dependent on opportunities. If his role was to be a blocking TE, then his pass catching numbers are going to look bad.  Maybe that is because the team didn't trust his hands, or maybe they just brought him in on run plays or max protect plays.

I guess we will just have to wait and see.  At any rate, we needed a blocking TE.  I assume we saw him as one of the better ones available, so it is a good hire.  I also think we will draft a TE at some point in the draft.

Well, it's not a disaster if he was brought in mainly as a blocker.  Unless he can't block well...

  • Bye David.  Thank You!!!!!!!!!!    Your last reception as a Brown was a TD!

  • Not that signing a punter is a huge deal...but he's been quite good.  I'm happy we're keeping him.  Now, let's continue to bring in offensive talent so that we can keep him on the bench all game.  🙂  (except for being the holder on FG's & extra points)

I am not a fan of this resigning can he kick the hell out of the ball yes,  IMO most of the long punt returns last year was him outkicking the coverage, long line drive kicks killed us on special teams, I was hoping of drafting a new punter in the 7th round this year

  • Browns Special Teams ranked near bottom of NFL.. Yet, Berry keeps bringing these special JAG's back ?‍♂️

The Browns are re-signing cornerback Tre Avery, as
    @mzenitz reported.

Avery appeared in 10 games last season, primarily on special teams.

I agree with the title.  From Bad to Pretty Good.  But we have to wait and see them play together with any draft additions.  All and all I'm quite pleased that they've attacked the OL so heavily in FA.  (obviously they had to because they didn't have anyone - except Jones...and he's only like having half a guy since he'll be out at least half the season)

Berry just overpaid for 2 of 3 lineman just to cover up his own doings.. Berry gave them 2 & 3 year contracts.. This Lineman draft class (it's good!), AB needs to hit on 2 of 3 just to avoid the same mess in 2 years..

Find your future Tackle. And 2 scrappy kids to push Wyp & Zinter.

Build it (OL) & stop paying top dollar on it

I was actually referring to Conklin since he has now been let go. Never seemed healthy enough to contribute when needed.

He tried but whiffed on Zinter and Dawand Jones -while talented - can’t stay healthy.

Then he just ignored the OLine last draft, when the whole world knew the current line at that moment was about to hit their collective expiration date.

I’d like to move Elton Jenkins to Guard, where he is a two time Pro Bowler, have Kelvin Jenkins as our #6 guy, draft a center and LTackle. Dawand Jones would be our tackle sub.

I know, I know. “You want to start TWO rookies on the OLine Dutch. You sir are a silly goose!”

It’s true. I’m the silliest of gooses.
