One knock I've heard about Tennessee WRs are that they tend to be limited in their route running. They apparently don't run a very complicated passing attack, and that causes them to struggle when they enter the NFL. Kind of anti-Ohio State.

Yeah, that's inexplicably true Dutch.  I say that because they had Peyton Manning there for 4 years. Tennessee's HC Josh Heupel was the starting QB & AP Player of the Year for Oklahoma when they went unbeaten in 2000 and won the Natty after beating FSU 13-2 in the Orange Bowl in January 2001.

IMO, Cedric Tillman showed up to the Browns with skills; and had 2-3 impressive games in a row - until he got a concussion a couple years ago.  He hasn't been the same since imo.

The main reason I brought up Brazzell is to show people there's still some intriguing WR prospects in round 2. I have a feeling that position group is going to be really unpredictable.  I think we can get a sudden impact at WR anywhere from round 1 to round 3. Let's hope that's not just wishful thinking.

    Yeah...but ya can't teach Tate to run a 4.37.

I'm not saying to draft Brazzell ahead of Tate, Boston, or any of the 1st round WR's.  But I wouldn't mind adding him even if we did draft a WR in round 1.

Well said & clarified! Jerry Rice is a GREAT reminder that one's ability to change direction can lose more defenders than the elite straight ahead speed of a Willie Gault/Equivalents (or Rice's former teammate - Skeets Nehemiah).

Football isn't played straight ahead so all the knuckleheads QUITTING on Tate because he ran in the 4.5s need to put down the stupid juice. That said, he'd thrive with the elite speed of Isaiah Bond also on the perimeter here.

Having said all that,  I do admit a great 40 time catches my attention (especially if/when I see good hand eye-coordination accompanying it).

I think center might be a target in this coming draft too, along with a LTackle.

Iowa's Logan Jones might be an available steal in round 3. He earned the Nation's best Center honor as the Rimington Award Winner.  Former Cleveland Brown OL Coach/Current Iowa HC Kirk Ferentz has done a magnificent job of developing Offensive Linemen for the NFL.

I'm always a fan of taking Big Ten OLinemen, especially from Iowa or Wisconsin back in the day

What surprises me is that 1st year starter - Ty Simpson went 11-4 with 28 TD passes and only 5 INTs.  I must have seen every INT because it felt like he threw 3 times that amount.  His comp% was 64.5 for 3567 yards.  He'll be 1 QB the Browns wouldn't have to race into action; but it would probably require a 1st round pick to get him.  I'm not THAT enamored with him to warrant that move unless we've traded back to get a 3rd 1st round pick.  Carson Beck played for Monken at the UGA; and will probably go in round 3 or 4. If the Browns take him we'll know where Monk stands on Beck.

I was probably the first person on here who talked about him, and I like him.

But the list of successful QBs with less than 20 career college starts is an extremely short one. I can't think of many teams that would be a worse fit for a kid who needs to sit for at least a season, probably two behind an established QB than the Browns.

And not only is he not experienced, he's kind of a small frame guy. Unless he bulks up some in the coming years, I have doubts on his durability. He had to leave multiple games last season due to getting injured during games.

This offseason should be all about fixing the holes around a QB and letting Sanders or Watson be the bridge to the QB they draft in 2027. This team is being built for the Mattress Factory of Sadness Dome.

I bought every one of those damn mattresses.  If I open a store selling Mattresses announcing I have a Grand Opening Sale - don't pay any attention to the hottie in the ad or take the bait.  You already bought enough mattresses...

I want nothing to do with Simpson.  He would probably be in a dead heat with a guy like Sheduer and at the end of day likely doesn’t move the needle enough to where we bypass the 2027 options which are better.

Now let’s talk about Arkansas Taylen Green…athletic freak probably a decent fit for Monkens RPO play action vertical game he brought to Lamar.  Maybe a package guy in year 1… But definitely a raw developmental type and maybe he becomes a starter level QB on his second contract.

I agree with McShay, build around the QB this year, ride with what you have at QB and determine if any of them are someone to move forward with.  If not, go hard at QB in the '27 draft.

I'm just afraid that the Monken connection with Simpson will prompt the organization to please their new HC and let him draft his QB.

I believe the Browns will draft a qb, it just won't be in the first few rounds, of course.

    4/5th round if someone falls.

Yes, I would draft Gronowski in the third round. lol

or Allar in the 5/6th  round.

"Should" and Cleveland Browns aren't always compatible (ie; no OL drafted last year to make room for 2 scoops of QB and 2 scoops of RB)

As our 2nd 1st rounder I'm taking the more versatile quick twitch K.C. Concepcion who also returns punts and KOs. Fills more needs and burns teams ATC.

I'd love this.... or a guard. You know I've been on the KC bandwagon for months now.

I think he's the dark horse of this draft without being the dark house if that makes any sense.. But I love his fluid, slithery style... It would be a good pairing with Bonds speed then you could look to move Jeudy if Corley continues to improve and hopefully Larvadain takes another step as well..

And people worry about 7 "drops" when I happen to see 2 or 3 that he should not have even gotten hands on but did because of athletic ability that may technically be called drops, but I would not have said they were easy catches that somehow he dropped. It was more like damn he almost actually caught that ball.

I brought up that I like Concepcion for the #24 pick to my buddy yesterday at lunch, and he's not a fan. Said he runs basically two routes. What say you?
