Good ole Jimmy screwing up another franchise

  • I don't think Haslam set the structure, so I don't know why you conclude he screwed it up?

  • There's been rumors that the Cavs want the Greek Freak, and if the Bucks end up with 25 year old Evan Mobley for him I don't think that's exactly a horrible way to go.

  • Forgive my ignorance as I crawl out front underneath my rock.

I had NO IDEA The Braintrust™️ had a 25% ownership stake in the Bucks....

Oh man, imagine, as a fan, the exuberance of winning an NBA Title and within a couple of years, the Haslams barge in and buy into ownership only to have things go downhill.

Jimmy Haslam, burning up the southern Great Lakes sports scene since 2014...

He makes The Jelly of the Month Club pay him to be a member...

  • If Mobley doesnt take the next level next season.. Then yeah,,, I would trade him straight up for Giannis..

  • The year that I get season tickets for the Columbus Crew, they open the season 6 weeks in a row without winning a game. Fuck you, Dee. Fuck you, Jimmy. As a Browns fan, I really ought to have known better.

  • As a Browns fan, if Haslam is more interested in his new shiny NBA toy, perhaps he'll leave the Browns alone.. and decisions made without his input are by definition better.

  • I wish Haslam would buy the Guardians.  Dolan won't spend money, Jimmy will.

Randy Lerner was a generous guy who paid players well on both of his Pro Sports Teams (1 on each side of the Atlantic Ocean); but that never made him competitive in the NFL. Jimmy should pay players well; and make sure he has the best FO; Coaching Staff; Medical & Sports Med Staff; and NFL Strength & Conditioning Staff he can find to compete.  He's got the $ from the very generous shared revenue profit margins the NFL Sunday Ticket Monopoly equally distributes to owners whether they were competitive on the field or not.  Owners SHOULD pay their players and I think they are required to pay at least a certain amount every year.  Looking below, Jimmy is #15 on the list below.

    This makes zero sense.

The Browns have had the most expensive player payroll three years running.

Throwing money around hasn't helped the Browns.

They drew over 2 mill for the second year in a row last season, the first time they've done that in almost 20 years.

And technically no one on the planet has watch a GUARDIANS game since last year, at least any of their games that have mattered.

The NFL works under a salary cap, MLB doesn't.  The Guardians have one of the lowest salary numbers in MLB.  In baseball, the teams that spend money are usually at a distinct advantage.  It makes a lot of sense.

The Guardians under Haslam would spend more money, and go from one of the best run organizations in all sports to a dysfunctional mess because Jimmy has to Jimmy.

It makes zero sense why anyone could watch what Jimmy has done with the Browns and say "Man, I wish he owned another team in this city".
