On Monday, we learned that Emerson was taking a visit with the Houston Texans. That afternoon, we learned that Cleveland was signing former Texans CB Myles Bryant to their roster.

    Ian Rapoport@RapSheet
Former #Browns starting CB Martin Emerson Jr, who missed last season after tearing his Achilles, is on a visit with the #Texans, source said.

Emerson was heading into a contract year after starting 27 games for Cleveland before his injury. Now a potential addition in Houston.

Szymt is back, that’s a big deal. I like him ok. And it’s easier to curse him in the presence of children.

    And Jamari Thrash is back!

And Jamari Thrash is back!  Well, one out of two ain't bad.

Andre The Smurf, as nickers called him, I could've sworn that we signed him up a couple of months ago.  I've supported him all along.  After costing us an opening day win against the Bengals a lot of people wanted him cut asap.  I was against cutting him.  He & Hopkins had had a pretty even preseason battle and I was happy that Hopkins was released...his 'yips' were a ticking time bomb.  And Andre had kicked the ball solidly...none of them 'Hopkins Misses' where as soon as it left his foot you knew it was 'waay off' (in your best Rodney Dangerfield voice).  I remember reading his lips on the replay of the game losing kick...'Oh C'mon'...he said, as it was sailing past on the wrong side of the upright.  It just seemed like the facial expression way he said it was.......a combination of disbelief, disappointment, and frustration because he knew/felt that he was good at being a kicker.  I remember writing here somewhere that the two kicks that he missed were good hits that missed the fairway a little bit.  And that he is now at rock bottom.  He knows that he let all of his teammates, coaches, and the Browns fans down.  And that if he could mentally survive and channel all of that into a reckoning that he doesn't ever want to feel like this again, then we might have solved our kicker problems.  Obviously, Andre The Smurf proved to be mentally tough.  And it was quite fitting, as Stefanski put it, 'It couldn't have been scripted any better!' as he was giving him a Game Ball for kicking the game winning FG to end the season against those same Bengals.  In a terrible season, that was storybook.

As for Jamari Thrash - I had high hopes for him.  I thought that last season was going to be his turning point.  But it wasn't.  He was a non-factor in any games that he played in.  And he didn't play too many (9 actually, about 1 catch per game).  He was a healthy scratch.  Then, in the latter part of the season, they outright cut him...and signed a bum OLineman, who started the following Sunday, and was cut the following Monday.  They then signed another OLineman who started on Sunday, was cut on Monday, AND THEN, the signed Thrash back onto the team (perhaps they thought he could help the OLine).   I suppose we should give him one more shot just to see if his woes were because of the offense that has been used.  We'll see, but I think we should draft enough receivers to cover for him being a flop.

It's kind of a play off of his last name.  And that he's just a kicker.  ( that was my take originally anyway )

    That's probably correct.

They'll see what they do during the Draft and possibly add someone If needed I would guess

these are the agent deals,we'd wish to hear the before draft number$ teams offered... compared to the after draft signing number..

Lions told Decker to take a pay cut from 18.9 M .. Decker's agent told the Lions to release him..

Taylor Decker's still a FA. Top FA LT from GB Rasheed Walker signed 1 year deal Carolina 10M

The current FA's will be in competition with players that did not get picked in the draft.

Probably so, maybe even until they see who might pop up after June 1 cuts.  For now it is 100% eyes on the draft.  If Berry is working the phones, it is probably more lined with possible trades during the draft, and finally nailing down the final draft board if that isn't already in place.

At this point everybody has been going non-stop.  They might even work in some shorter days and or a few days off to let people recharge the minds over the next week or so.

I'm certain that their board is nailed down.  Probably has been for some time.  The only thing that can happen to draftees right now is negative.  They could screw themselves by doing something stupid.

Probably so, as I indicated but I would not be certain.  Either way, it is for all intents and purposes complete unless we discover we have a Jeremiah Pharms type guy on the board.

  • The Cleveland Browns have added a fullback, reportedly, with 10 year vet Michael Burton coming to town. In 10 seasons, Burton has played in 147 games with six different teams. With over 1,300 snaps on offense, Burton has just 42 carries and 31 receptions on his resume. The Rutgers product has also played over 1,800 snaps on special teams.
