So purposefully firing your gun at a police officer at point blank range and killing him is just manslaughter.
Must be that white privilege they're talking about.

If this pos doesn't know how to properly communicate then why is he on the Board of Education?
Shouldn't you be intelligent enough?

Here comes the Islamic brainwashing for the retarded left.

so stupid. I've been to the Alamo. I always imagined it was out in the desert, a lone famous icon.
nope, all sorts of little stores all around it. in town.
Just worse than stupid, but I couldn't think of a word that would do the job.

This sounds weird enough to dig in to. All the articles l can find on this are right leaning sources, l couldnāt actually find any lefty articles arguing that the Alamo is a Muslim building.
Hereās what l could find. Apparently someone at a hearing mentioned that Spain was owned by the Moors for a few hundred years, and Moors were Muslim.Ā
I looked that up and yeah thatās true. Oddly enough it was in 1492 that Moorish rule ended, and thatās the same year Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue. If you recall Columbus was Italian, but he was hired by Spain to make the voyage.Ā
The Alamo was built in the 1700s though, and l honestly donāt know enough about Spanish architecture to say how much it changed in those 200+ years, but it sounds reasonable that some elements would have stayed the same.Ā

I tried digging as well after seeing the story and couldn't find anything either.
Looking up historical records on a building or purpose of shouldn't have to deal with left or right.
I will say however, you would have a much harder time looking for anything right leaning on the net as it seems to be mostly left crap. The difference between left and right leaning is usually the right is more fact driven while the left is crap ideology leaning.
As such, the Alamo is the Alamo, there is a reason it's defined in American history and it has nothing to do with Islam.

Hey, yāall down there in Texas! Did you know that the Alamo really was Islamic?
That stunner was included in a letter to state education officials warning them against the āfalse historyā that some interests are trying to inject into the stateās history.
āIt has come to our attention that an extensive lobbying effort is underway to have the Texas State Board of Education (SBOE) alter curriculum standards in a way that would diminish American and Texas history,ā Rep. Brandon Gill, R-Texas, and other Texas Republicans wrote to education officials.
āThe petitionersā efforts claim that Islam influenced our founding, culture, and way of life. For instance, the (board) recently responded to public testimony asserting that the Alamo is an Islamic building.
āSuch claims are intended to introduce sensationalized or false history into our curriculum, and it is not the (boardās) responsibility to accommodate flagrant lies or cultivate spurious claims of their belonging,ā the letter said.
Members of the Islamic community long have demanded positive portrayals of their religion, which advocates for the beheading of those who are not what the Founding Fathers would have known as āMahometans,ā to the point some have claimed that Muslims were active and integral in the founding of America. There is no evidence for that, although the Founding Fathers did provide protections for religion in their work.
The Alamo originally was a Spanish mission started by Catholic missionaries and was one of the early establishments in Texas to be used to convert American tribes to Christianity.
It was secularized in the late 1700s and abandoned, but later turned into a fortress for what then was the Republic of Texas, and became the site of the Battle of the Alamo in which Mexican forces obtained a short-lived victory in their failed war to reclaim Texas.

I get the impression the personās comments were taken out of context. I think they were simply saying Muslims had an influence on Spanish architecture, and the Alamo is an example of Spanish architecture.Ā
I gather this came up in a discussion about how Muslims will be portrayed in school curriculum. I donāt know how that currently is in Texas schools, but l wouldnāt be surprised if itās heavy on Jihadists and beheadings and l understand why Muslims would want their positive contributions represented as well.

Another subtle wayĀ to mislead.ĀUnlike Little Italy and Chinatown, Palestine never existed as a sovereign nation or a kingdom.
