  • Remember, no one was talking about Francisco Mendoza as a first overall pick candidate - hell even as a first rounder - at this point last year.

  • Glad the Indiana Tackle decided to stay at school next season.. Carter Smith will slip into the 1st round

This dude a stud.. I think he goes 3rd before Moore the Oregon QB goes ..

     Trevor Goosby, OT, Texas

Had he declared, Goosby would have had a solid case to be the top offensive lineman selected. Instead, he's the clear front-runner for that honor in 2027.

Add in Texas A&M Bama transfer WR Isaiah Horton. And 19 of 32 from the SEC excluding Horton.

16 of 32 from the SEC? The world gets reset correctly again. LOL!

  • I'm already bracing myself for the idea that the Browns might have to part with their 2028 first round pick next year to get themselves a QB.

Push comes to shove, I still think the Browns are a 6-8 win team this coming season, but I don't see them losing their way into a top QB falling into their laps. Now, there's always a chance they really like a guy like Julian Sayin, etc that aren't bonafide top 5 guys.

I'm still not sold on Arch Manning.

  • 6-8 wins put us in the middle of the first.

    Let’s say 15.

    Our 15th overall, a 2027 3rd, two 2027 4ths and a 2028 1st round pick gets us to 3-5.

we would be left with 1,2,4,5,5,6,7,7 in 2027

If we are not inside the top 8 it will be very difficult not to give up 2028 first round pick.

Assuming a team wants to leave the Top 10 because I see some really good talent in the top 10

yeah I'm not big on Arch either... I think Sayin and Moore are better prospects at this point...

Honestly there isn't anyone I'm really high on... yet.

I'm not a big fan of Sayin and Moore's size. Both are less than imposing.

Edit: Just looked up a top QB prospects of the '27 Draft, Moore is listed at 6'3. That's surprising to me, I thought he looked like he was 6'1 tops. Physically, I love LaNorris Sellers of South Carolina, he reminds me a lot of Steve McNair, but SC's offense last season was honestly offensive to watch. I was hoping he would transfer to a better program that could get him more pro-ready. I'm still intrigued by him.

Sayin or Notre Dame's QB CJ Carr might be guys that fall into our laps, without us having to trade away picks to get them. I don't think we'll be in the running to get Manning or Moore, most likely the worst teams are going to be teams that need a QB.

  • Mensah from The U.   Josh Hoover Indiana both worth following.  Sorsby was another

The problem some of the kids will get 5-7M to transfer and play another year of CFB so it isn’t a slam dunk that a player will enter the 2027 draft.

For the NFL though this is good news.

The more QBs coming into the league with 30+ starts, the better.

Yeah it is more growth and development and tape on them.  The other positive most of them bounce around so you can see them in different systems.

Off the field we need to study the hell out of this next class assemble the team now to do it…and on the field give Shedur the snaps instead of you know who  - McShay had a post draft segment about how he believes Watson will be our QB

The thing that draws me to Sayin is the accuracy and his ability to read coverages.. no hes not the most physically gifted.. I want to see growth.. But I'm not sure Arthur Smith spells QB guru to me.. He ran a conservative predictable offense in Pittsburgh.. The other part that bothered me was when Hartline announced he was leaving.. It seemed like the kid lost some juice. I'm very interested to see how it unfolds...

^^  This is the correct answer.  Mensah is walking into 2027 as my projected QB1

I'll have some all-22 on this later in the off-season.   But just a foreshadowing.  Completion % Does not = accuracy.    And many Buckeye fans are going to be surprised at the amount of mistakes Julian not only made, but repeated later in the season.  (The pick against *ich was a similar boundary rotation that he throw an INT on a few weeks later against Miami)

I'm on that train of thought also.  We heard many times last season about how good Watson was in the QB film room and how good he was at mentoring Shedeur.  Of course Monken was not privy to any of that.  But if Watson absorbs the playbook install quickly and demonstrates it on the practice field and meeting room, and is once again mentoring the younger QB's, I believe he'll name him the starter.  Monken is not Stefanski.  He's not tied to any of the QB's, with the possible exception being Green...but he's not naming Green the starter that's for sure.

I think that we, as fans, have got to put aside our hatred of Watson and all of his baggage (the legal, moral & trade costs) and try to see the situation through Monken's eyes.  He's not some young buck.  He wants to win now.  I can picture a scene of him telling Berry & Haslem about this year's starting QB.  - I don't know right now who'll be the starter...but I'll tell you this, I'm starting the QB who I feel gives us the best chance to win and I don't give a rats ass which one it turns out to be.

Ballpeen calls Sanders, SheDufus.  I call Gabriel the Midget.  Perhaps the bar is not set too high for Watson to leap over.  ( looking forward to hearing nick names for Watson ) 🙂

    Agreed!

Was it Indiana or Texas Tech that Moore looked like he was playing with the smallest human hands, turning the ball over/fumbles several times? Moore in AFCN weather games ? He needed to stay a D U C K !

  • Too early. Also we can't say yet who could be a late-round hit which means we wouldn't have a particular need.

As an example, our 7th rounder from 2024 Jowon Briggs is now the first DL off the bench for the Jets.
