    Unbelievable.

Verse is pretty good but I feel like this trade is Verse and #2 or #3 QB prospect in the 2027 NFL draft.  Do we all think that is enough

They might be picking first next year. The tank-a-thon is in full effect now

The defense is definitely worse now. I think the effect on the defense is going to be huge. Can't rely just on front 4 getting home, more blitzing, more reliance on DBs. Verse didn't even have double digit sacks last year. Myles had more sacks 2 games than Verse had all year. And that first picks is definitely going to be towards bottom of first round, I don't see how that pick helps move he needle to move up in draft. We gotta hope for the Rams to implode.

  • Verse has some boom potential.  He played some WR in college - in many ways he’s still learning the position and is by some of accounts one of the best run defender edges in all of football.

  • I just don't think the compensation matches the talent (Garrett).. I think Berry got hosed... Verse is a nice player but we should've got 2 firsts instead of one...

  • I guess the compensation sounds fair. The Browns sold high, which is what you’re supposed to do if you’re going to trade a player. It’s basically 2 firsts, a 2nd and a 3rd.

I’m not terribly versed on Verse, and like many of you l suspect the Rams’ 2027 pick will be a lower pick, but l’m guessing the Browns were doing this regardless and that’s probably the best offer they got.

So long Myles, and thanks for the memories.

  • Better be multiple first round picks.

The reality is Verse is probably worth a 1st rounder plus, so we are getting 3 first rounders of value by the time all is said a done..

I agree.  We have to remember that Myles was vocal about wanting out.

Yeah but then he signed an extension. There is stuff we dont know that we need to know.

    Aren’t they all?

  • 2024 Defensive Rookie of the Year, Verse was #53 of the top 100 players going into 2025 according to NFL.com. Close by at #55 was Detroit's DE Aiden Hutchison and SF's DE Nick Bosa at #57. That's pretty damn good company with a lot of upside for years to come IMO. Throw in the others and the deal was a good one for the future.

  • Not exactly shocking to me. Once again Andrew berry is trying to be the smartest guy in the room on a team that seems all but destined for failure.

And I'm rapidly running out of seasons Woody.  MHO? Terrible trade, they should have gotten a LOT more for Myles. I'm done with the Clown Show. The tank -a-thon is in full swing. Obvious they're gunning for a high pick for a QB in the 2027 draft.

Might be better than folks think. This was going into 2025 from NFL.com

    2024 stats: 17 games | 66 tackles | 11 tfl | 4.5 sacks | 2 FF | 2 FR

The Rams struck gold in the draft once again with Verse, adding to their rapidly growing young defensive core with an edge who terrorizes opposing quarterbacks at an obscene rate. Verse took home Defensive Rookie of the Year honors, the second year in a row an L.A. rookie was a finalist, but the first winner for the Rams since Aaron Donald in 2014. Finishing fourth in the league in total pressures and adding 12 more in the postseason, per Pro Football Focus, Verse's performance as a rookie put him among some of the best at the position last year, even if the sacks didn't follow. Verse even received a rousing endorsement of his uncanny talent from the recently retired Terron Armstead, a top offensive lineman over the last decade. After just one game lining up opposite Verse, Armstead decreed he never wanted to do so again and predicted a Defensive Player of the Year nod in the pass rusher's future. Not a bad start to an NFL career.

NFL Pro Insight for Verse: Jared Verse generated 76 pressures this season, the second-most by a rookie since 2018 (Nick Bosa, 81, 2019).

Well Tex, my future is now. As far as I'm concerned the Browns kicked the can at least three seasons down the road. Berry may have the patience to wait until the 2028 season- but I don't.  Not anymore, I've seen this act too many times already.

PR wise, it's a horrible move.

A couple years back i decided I was not going to make any special point to watch the Cleveland browns and instead just watch the national games and it truly helped to reignite my love of the game of football.

Would have been the same clown show even with Garrett. Now there are 3 more players plus Versa coming on board eventually or used as trade value if the QB situation remains as bad as last year.

I get it Larry. But the reality is it had to be done much as I loved seeing Garrett as a Browns player.

EDIT: Now I have to go out and find some more Aggie players to come to Cleveland. I already scouted the incoming 2027 freshman OT.?

So now we have the '24 & '25 defensive rookies of the year.  But I'll tell you what, The Browns beat BOTH the Steelers & the Bengals because they were playing scared of Myles Garrett.  They were looking over their shoulders all game long.  We are not as good of a defense as we were with him.  Our new DC now has an excuse for a defensive drop-off.  IMO, he should've gone straight to Canton from Cleveland.   We Browns fans gave him total support and love.  But he wanted to get away from us anyway.  He's no Joe Thomas.

My 2nd favorite NFL team is the Rams, since Roman Gabriel days. ( my brother was a Rams fan ).  -  I hope they lose every game next year.
