Joel Bitonio Retires A Cleveland Brown!
-
An excellent Guard & team player for a whole lot of years. I think it was time for him to hang 'em up. A Really Good Player!!
I'll never ever forget during his rookie year with Manziel. Manziel must have made quite an impression on him in that short period of time (obviously we now know they were room mates that year)...because when they finally replaced the starter (Hoyer?) during a game, (management was wanting Manziel to play) a pass play was called and at just about the same moment the shot gun snap got to Manziel he was razed to the ground by a DLineman. The producer immediately showed the replay and it was centered on Bitonio. As soon as the ball was snapped Bitonio turned to the left ( His man was on his right shoulder ) and PRETEND blocked air for a while. He purposely let his man have a short, clear path straight to that Sum-Bitch kid QB.
The oblivious announcers were gabbing back and forth and obviously NOT watching the replay because they totally missed it. I remember thinking, Holy Geezuz Bitonio! They're gonna see that in the film room!
