NFL told sorsby to kick rocks, there will be no supplemental draft this year, so even if he didnt get drafted he could become a free agent, so sorsby you are kinda fucked

Does this mean he has to wait for the regular draft or does he become a free agent?

Nice Playin'!! I like the surf green. Add your chorus pedal and you'd have a nice Trower-like sound.

You got a couple of spare necks hangin' on the wall?

He can play in Canada if he wants...but they're already underway up there. Other than that he has to wait for the '27 draft (and not play anywhere in '26). He would be a FA if he doesn't get drafted next year.

Yeah the Univibe.. I have the TC Electronics version called "the viscus vibe" It's very transparent but I think I need a new one.. I think my univibe is dying... Yeah the necks are from previous guitars I have had in the past.. The strat I'm playing is a low budget strat a buddy of mine gave me.. The single coils sound more like P-90's than regular strat pickups.... It was his kids guitar... They didn't take care of it so he gave it to me.. It became my number 1... It just plays great and sounds amazing... I have to get the intonation sorted out on it but the neck fits my hand like a glove.. It's almost identical to a Suhr stratocaster...

Heres a Jimi cover with the univibe I did a few years ago..

    Yeah, that's Trowery. You've got a Lester-like guitar there.

Here's a long one that we did in my yard a couple of years back. Playing my Jaguar. I went a little crazy with the video controls 🙂 The first and only time we tried it.

lol looks like your camera went on an acid trip... I like the 70's oversized headstock on Fender guitars.. Are those P-90's or humbuckers?.. they sound nice.

Enforcer Humbuckers. It's not an expensive guitar. 2018 Fender Classic Player Jaguar Special HH. Made in Mexico. A couple of roller wheels at the top allow me to roll each pickup from total humbucker to total single coil and everywhere in between. Originally it had three slide switches. One each for the two pickups and one is a Low Cut. I removed the switch plate and had my pal in the machine shop at the place I worked make a new one. One drilled hole for a 3-way toggle switch and one slot for the low cut switch. Seemed dumb to me to have to slide one switch to turn the pickup off and slide another to turn the other pickup on. I'll never sell / trade this guitar. It sounds and plays way above it's price point. Full disclosure, those tremolo systems suck...but it does work and stay in tune.

I still don't believe that the Browns would've drafted him in the supplemental...if they had one. But I wouldn't put it past Haslam to make Berry trade away Gabriel so he could bring the illegal gambler in. ( I don't think they'd bring 5 QB's to camp )

It will definitely go into some sort of litigation.

Sweet lookin axe.. I love the classic look.. It's what I go for.. I hate the sterile look of modern body types.. I'm a Strat ,LP and Tele guy... I can't stand Floyd trem systems.. Just give me American Standard the way Leo Fender intended them to be..

    1. Yes.

    2. Sorsby is so on-brand or a Browns QB since Haslam bought the team. First, we have Manziel, a complete trainwreck to this day. Then we used the #1 pick on Baker, who literally made a franchise tell the world that they wanted an "adult in the room". Then they replace him with the PR disaster that is Watson, only to follow up with Shedeur, who actually is a good kid but comes with obvious baggage. The Browns going after Sorsby would have been the cherry on top. Maybe they would have passed, but it wouldn't have surprised me at all. That being said, it does feel like in general the Browns seem to be making a conscious effort to draft high-quality people lately. Not only are the last two drafts full of talented players, they seem to be quality individuals.

I tip my hat to you both!

I am not musically-inclined, but respect those who are.

I'm tone deaf, in the wrong weight class to play guitar, not athletic enough to be a drummer, but would be more likely to stand in the shadows picking a bass...

Ain't nothin' wrong with that. As long as you are picking the correct notes (which are to some degree subjective...meaning that they just have to fit the chording) and the correct timing. I don't think there's ever been somebody who studied and plays(ed) music that would ever look down their nose on somebody studying/playing/learning an instrument. The only people that would do that are those who don't play an instrument and never studied music. I started out playing accordion. Thanks to my mother asking me fifty ONE times if I'd take lessons before I finally said ok. (my uncle, her drunkard brother, played the concertina) I mean, what's more uncool than an accordion? The bagpipes, maybe? I ditched the accordion when I got to high school. Why? I knew why then, but later I realized that it was a stupid reason. After HS I bought a guitar...because I had 8 years of music lessons and liked music. I finished 3rd, then 2nd in the state for my age group(s) back in the accordion days. I played in the studio's senior and advanced bands. We played many concerts. We played in the Rotunda in Washington DC. We toured Portugal playing to packed theaters. Twenty years later a co-worker told me that her husband (who came from Portugal) remembered when our band played in Lisbon. (go figure)

I convinced my two grandboys to take music lessons. I'd told them since they were babies that Papa wanted them to take music lessons. That they didn't have to stay with it if they didn't like it, but I wanted them to try it. 'Papa will buy you your instrument. I'll pay for and take you to your lessons. Papa just wants you to try it.' When the oldest one was 9, I sat him down in my music room, with 5 guitars hanging on the wall, I asked him what instrument he would like to play. And he said, I'd like to play the piano. And without batting an eye I said, Grandson, the piano is a beautiful instrument. He took lessons from a semi-neighbor that, from the local town free newspaper add, we found. He took lessons for a year but was too shy to say that he wasn't understanding some of the teachings and decided to quit. So be it! When his younger brother turned 9 I talked to him about music. Now this little guy was a different animal. He was...umm...a busy kid 🙂 He's playing baseball catch with his brother, then before you know it he's coming out of the garage on his pogo stick, 5 minutes later he's putting on his roller skates, you get the idea. So, I suggested to him, Grandson, what do you think about playing the drums? (I figured that'd keep him busy) And he agreed. I found a teaching studio in the very town I grew up in. Right down the street from where I took accordion lessons. I then took him to a used drum store (which I hear is now closing up) and bought him a compact kit (is what they call it). He's been at it now for a year and a half.

Then, about 8 months ago I sat down with the older grandson. I told him that they teach piano also at your brother's music studio. And then I said this to him, Every so often, I look up into the sky, and I say, Thanks Mom! Thanks for asking me fifty One times if I'd take music lessons. Because it took that fifty first time before I said yes. And that I've thoroughly enjoyed having music as part of my life. Grandson, I'd like you to be able to look up into the sky someday and say, Thanks Papa! I then asked if he would try taking piano lessons at that studio. - I pulled out all of the stops. 🙂 But it worked. They are 10 & 12 and they're both taking lessons. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but I'm currently happy as a pig in shit...as they say. When their teacher comes to the waiting area to collect them I say to the little guy, Go Get 'em Ringo. And Go Get 'em Mozart to the older one.

I reenforce their taking lessons by telling them that I've read where scientists are now thinking that learning to play music actually makes you a smarter human being. That you're using and strengthening a different part of your brain that you wouldn't be strengthening otherwise. And I've reenforced that theory to the older one this year when an essay that he wrote was selected to be published in a children's book. (we made sure to get one of those to cherish) And again later this year when he received notification that he made high honors in school. I even told him, Imagine how stupid Papa would be if he didn't study music. 🙂

I'm sorry that this is long and not Browns related. But I feel that it's important to introduce children to music study. It's a totally different way of learning, of doing, than reading, writing, and rithmatic. And perhaps the child has a natural gift for it...that would never have been discovered without trying. And the same holds true for any of the arts, painting, drawing, theatre, sculpting, whatever. And, of course, the same holds true for sports.

So now, the story of my life in pictures:

    May be art of accordion

  • Even if there WAS a supplemental draft why would the browns reach for this guy with all his issues.

Oh. Because they're the browns. Say no more.

A player cannot sign with an NFL team without first making themselves available to be drafted. UDFA is only available after a draft cycle.. so when the NFL refused to hold a draft for him, they are 100% ending his ability to be an NFL player in 2026.

Today he said he "wasn't suing" .. but that's more accepting that he has no chance of winning any lawsuit he would file.

  • The wild obliviousness of TexasTech is a fun watch.

TT put out a 20-minute podcast attempting to claim victim status in this whole situation when they were single-handedly the villain. As with many things in life, the FA was fun until the FO. TT knew about the gambling and were OK with it.. they weren't innocent in the least. And I was about to start liking them -- now I will root against them forever because they are the worst.

Sorsby did all of his gambling at Cincy on a burner phone bc big12 required all athletes to have their original phone tracked after the Iowa State gambling scandal. He is in no way a victim -- he brought this on himself.

The other fun thing is I'm convinced the NFL asked ESPN to start hyping him as a first-round pick the week before the supplemental decision precisely so that they can now say to everyone who follows "Nobody is above the integrity of the game. You will not gamble and get away with it even if you play the most in-demand position."
