MAGA politicians all going on the attack this hard over AC tells you 1) they're scared of DSA candidates and 2) they desperately need a win

And of course, plenty of hypocrisy scattered in:

Earlier on Thursday, one reporter noted that the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), which reports to President Trump, was recommending a 75-78 degree setting “for energy efficiency.” By Thursday afternoon, the recommendation appeared to have been deleted from the agency’s website.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) was among those mocking Mamdani.

“Is this what was meant by the warmth of collectivism?” he said.

But a tech reporter responded to DeSantis’s taunt by noting the Florida Public Service Commission — whose members were hand-selected by DeSantis — has issued the identical recommendation for residents to set their AC units to 78 degrees in the summer, as recently as June of this year.

After Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) responded to Mamdani by saying, “In a first-world country, you could turn on the A/C,” a community note was added to his post that read, “Ted Cruz’s own state has made the same request on numerous occasions.”

Now who is feeling desperate and stretching?

Mamdani telling everyone else to set thermostats at 78, but what is his set at? Or any gov't building?

Funny you brought hypocrisy into the conversation.

For the record, mine is set at 73 and I'm freezing on the 1st floor. Little warmer upstairs or I'd turn mine up another degree.

  • again, the POINT is, the courthouse of mamdani's - has THEIR AC on very low - at times, 64 degrees.

But then, woodpecker, you are a hypocrite too, censoring ignorant assbird.

Cal gets it and woody is just emotionally expressing his TDS and whataboutism as always.

They've been working really hard at dividing this country and they've been very successful.

It's not just one front invading, we're getting it from all sides, for different reasons.

From wealthy billionaires, radical islamists, terrorists, commies, socialists, our own politicians, the left, China, Russia, illegals....

If we want to see another 250 years we have some house cleaning to do and then we need a path to unite this country again.

I think one major step to fixing this country is proper education in our school system and no more lefty agendas and ideologies.

I take this message as a threat to Americans, and they're pretending to launch it against whites or millionaires or an unfair system, all they want is power and control. There is zero intention to do what's right or in any interest of well being in America or it's citizens.

I now understand why everyone’s freaked out by him. He’s good. And he’s young, and likely to get better.

Citing the Declaration of Independence? Historical New York specific references to George Washington and the Revolutionary War? Quoting Thomas Payne?!?

I watched it twice. I considered his mayorship of NYC a litmus test and haven’t paid much attention outside of that. But now l understand why the right is quaking in their boots over the guy. He’s got some moxie.

Apparently, the members of the Peoples Temple thought Jim Jones had moxie too.

What gets people to follow people like Jones and Mamdani? Why do they throw away the facts of what they are to 'swallow the kool aid'?

Come on man. Jim Jones gave his people “Flavor Aid.” Everybody gets that wrong. Aren’t you the guy yammering on about “facts?”

  • Jesus man, you get so much wrong in a post sometimes it's remarkable.

Look at opinion polls. Folks aren't happy with Trump, and especially on the economy. You can look at data on things or you can stick your head in the sand. I don't feel like being the one to pull it out of the sand.

Not to mention everything else you're completely missing the point on. But MAGA die hards are a dying breed for a reason

Your earlier post "who is feeling desperate and stretching"... Which comment regarding GOP hypocrisy around this AC suggestion was incorrect? I provided three examples. Tell me which one is incorrect. I'll wait...

... Or do they all accurately show the hypocrisy of the GOP? Do they highlight their desperation to go after Mamdani for something that's been suggested for years in red and blue areas, by Rep and Dem politicians, across the country.

One single topic for you to focus on. Let me know which example I provided is false

  • Also "opinion polls don't matter" doesn't really hold when it's the public's feeling about affordability. They don't give a shit about the DOW. They feel how expensive gas is, how high rent is, food costs, etc.

Trump and MAGA are losing across the border on the economy right now. You being so far up Trump's ass that you can't see it doesn't make it untrue

  • I don't know if it's good or bad Trump echos my sentiment.

People will just do the opposite because of TDS.

'Trump said it's not good to jump off this cliff'

    'screw Trump I'm jumping....................splat'

I do, along with the NASDAQ and S&P 500.

They feel how expensive gas is, how high rent is, food costs, etc.

Yet when you were riding Dementia Joe’s dick, you never once mentioned his 40 year high inflation rate. I wonder why since you’re a non-Democrat?

BTW, we got gas at Sam's Club at 3.19

odd, Vapor hasn't said if he likes the lower gas prices.

    funny how that works.

even the bitchy woodpecker bitched about gas prices.

Gasbuddy is a very cool Iphone app.

It's hilarious that has went up $1.50 because of Trump's war, and now it's down $0.50 from that high and MAGA is taking a victory lap for lowering the cost of gas. It's so damn predictable and you morons fall for it every time

You just don't live in reality at all. You can't recognize the reality of what's currently around you, there's no hope you'll accurately remember the past...

The latest DSA push isn't exactly vibing with establishment Dems either, fyi. I'll leave it at that.

They're scared as shit of the popularity of these progressive candidates and the all time low popularity of Trump. These scare tactics are only going to work on morons that can't recognize the reality around them or the elderly that lived through the red scare propaganda. Both of those groups are already voting MAGA. This isn't swaying anyone in the middle.

  • And a great example of that panic is the all out assault Mamdani for the AC recommendation.

A recommendation that was on the Department of Energy's own site until they realized it and took it down

A recommendation that's routinely made in MAGA strongholds like Texas and Florida

MAGA talking heads and politicians can just go on TV and Twitter and blatantly just push a false narrative, make it seem like these AC recommendations are ONLY there cuz of scary socialism, completely avoid the fact these recommendations happen fucking everywhere, and you dumbasses believe them! You believe this idiotic shit blindly.

The only positive here is that the number of blind MAGA loyalists in this country is at an all time low and shrinking every day. People that don't have their heads in Trump's ass can recognize the BS in front of them.

You idiots, well, not so much.

We've been saying this before Mamdani was even elected but look at when this thread was started and then realize you popping off about popularity means shit still.

Josef Stalin was a popular guy too. If he was still around you would beating off to his picture.

  • Still zero acknowledgement that the 78 degree recommendation has existed forever, across red and blue states, presented by Rep and Dem politicians.

    I can't say I'm shocked
