I Will Find You

This is a crime/action/thriller type show that dropped about a week ago on Netflix. My gal heard good things so we made it our main nightly watch and finished the 8th and final episode last night. It’s a limited series, so it’s one and done.
It stars Sam Worthington, who is best known as the main guy in the Avatar movies (the blue aliens Avatar, not the arrow headed Avatar), and he plays David Burroughs. When the series starts David’s in the clink for brutally murdering his 3 year old son 5 years ago. It’s a prison in Maine, which lends a little bit of a Shawshank Redemption vibe to the start of the show.
While there, his former sister in law Rachel Mills, played by Brit Lower, brings him a photo that suggests his son is still alive, and that sets off a sequence of events that finds him breaking out of prison and going back to Boston to find his son.
There’s lots of twists and turns in the events and the relationships of the people involved. The Boston police department gets involved, the FBI gets involved, and even the mob gets involved. There’s edge of your seat cliffhangers and a few mind bending turns that make you want to throttle to the next episode. We got through the second to last episode last night and absolutely had to power through to the end.
We really liked it, and shows like this typically aren’t my thing. I give it an A.
