Most Training Camp reports are hyped bullshit. So far, I can tell you the one's about Denzel Boston are not. 🔥

Dude looks every bit the part. Where he has improved the most has been tightening up his footwork off the LoS & hip sink.

He's a natural long strider but he's Show more

Huh boy......I know we're still in the early going but without a good OL our offense will not be good.

They were. OTs struggled. 1 on 1s had a mixed bag between both the dline & OL.

A few pre snap penalties on offense, especially while installing the motions.

Offense did pretty good in the 2min drill.

OL settled in better during scrimmage. IOL played pretty alright in pass pro.

  • Watson had a pretty good day today. But the WRs was where it was at.

Denzel Boston is rightfully the winner of training camp & I can't wait to see him in joint practices & real games.

Luke Floriea climbed the ladder for a TD and KC was explosive in the sweep game.

Quinshon looks good. Hasn't lost a step.

OL is having its moments, good & bad. Pre-snap penalties are their worst.

DL same same. (Verse has been snap jump happy past 2 days)

    IDL still concerns me.

Yes, Collins & Davis haven't been practicing because of injury. In a round-about way, that's a part of the greater point.

You have 1 spot on the dline where the #1 & #2 are both PUP. That's a big concern, buddy.

DEFINITELY sounds like a concern! Having said that, the season is marathon so so both guys currently missing is an opportunity for 2 other guys. The other day I got a notification on my phone that indicated Mason Graham had a great day at the other DT spot. I believe he shares a rotation with previous 2nd round pick Mike Hall Jr who's also battled injuries thoughout his 1st contract. Did you get much of a chance to isolate in on Hall any TJ?

Understanding the injuries to the IDL - it was cringe-worthy to read Zac Jackson's observation the OL couldn't keep the DL out of the backfield (albeit the Browns are in the process of trial and error for finding the best Guard and Tackle chemistries on the OL).

Mikey was looking good in the 1st day I made camp. Fast. Isn't playing more than 280ish, tops. But 1 on 1 reps he was so fast. If he can become a solid rotational piece and sub package pass rusher that signs at a cheaper rate & stays healthy, then I'm all about it.

IOL wasn't bad in 11s. Individual drills they were up & down. Fano is putting in work, but he has a long way to go. His movement is all natural athletic ability, and he does move well for his size. Vertical set needs a ton of work. 45 set shows his natural lateral athletic ability.

The 1 on 1 reps were still a worry. When he deals with speed, my worry is him getting in bad habits of over-setting. Goes back to my concern on wingspan as well.

OL struggled session 3. Performed much better as a unit yesterday. Also helps they really aren't running against the #1s IDL.

    Edit:

    LT - Fano

    RT - Howard

    LG - Johnson

    C - Jenks

    RG - Tevin

That was the most frequent 1s combo and clearly what the coaching staff wants to have as their 5 moving forward.

    Line notes.

Zak Zinter continues to struggle at times. 1 on 1 reps weren't kind. Brailsford really is small. 6'1, maybe 285.

Austin Barber looks the part. But he needs to get his feet moving. Comes out of stance, pass pro strike, then struggles to move after initial contact.

Wypler got a decent amount of snaps with the 2s & 3s. I think he makes the roster just based on depth.

Dawand rolled with the 2s exclusively at LT.

I personally thought he sucked. But he's been with us. He's at least a camp body. And if we had other injuries he might be able step in. edit and add: step in and suck.

Football is harder when you don't know what the other side is doing before each play.

JJ McCarthy is (predictably) busting as well.

It still blows my mind that he was taken that high.

scUM literally stopped passing the ball when their sign stealing got exposed. All the kid could do there is scramble right and heave the ball down field and let his WRs make contested catches.

  • Well, Thrash was cut last year and eventually signed back....but now a different coaching regime has cut him.
