I know it was just a preseason game, but I've seen a few different videos that really praised how Fano looked in his NFL debut. Good technique, great footwork.

I too have a few doubts about him being the long term LT, but was happy with what I saw Saturday. We'll see.

Here's some highlights to back your point Dutch. That said, I think we share your pov in the second statement above in the sense we'd love to be wrong with our doubts about him at LT (instead of where he excelled more at RT in Utah to the extent of winning the Outland Trophy Award). Then again, pitting him against Jared Verse in training camp looks like it did a nice job expediting his readiness for the 1st preseason battle-test. Warhop will probably remind him more than once "If you're a Warrior that won't change with where you line up and that's why we prioritized you in the draft."

Definitely not a position we need injuries.

There's talent on this team, but the depth is scary thin at so many positions.

If there's any good news in this - it's not like the drop-off will be huge. The Browns already know they need help at DE so they'll be more aggressive pursuing DEs getting cut than they were contemplating whether or not to sign the half-football hearted Clowney... Wright was the second of two 3rd round picks that's been okay but not irreplaceable imo. That said, I think we'll miss his experience out there.

Thankfully the NFL - who obviously cares about the health of their players - will be expanding the regular season to 18 games.

That will give the players more practice at staying healthy!

Is that true? I mean we've been expecting that shoe to fall. Odd # of games = odd # of home/away games. It was never going to stay that way...

The second the schedule went to 17 games it was just a matter of time before it will go to 18.

More is not better in this case.

10 regular season high school games... 12 college... 18 NFL games?

This is a great example of quantity over quality.

You know the NFL argument will be that they're not adding any games to the season because they'll be removing a preseason game.

Two things that are too long: Golf should be 16 holes and football should be 16 games.

And the SEC is going to 9 conference games out of 12 instead of 8 of 12. It will be murderous in this fratricidal league.

Honestly I think all regular seasons are too long.

The NBA should be about 60 games, MLB could be about 150 games, etc.

That's a rough haul for the second best football conference, for sure. ?

I'm glad to see Roger's concern about doing all he can to minimize the risk of CTE needs to be taken seriously. Adding the volume of games to 18 isn't quite the action speaking louder than words we'e looking for.

Even worse, there are teams playing as early as Thursday following their pevious game on Sunday. This is in a sport where the rules are designed to promote more scoring via the pass; which puts more players downfield in space for run-up collisions. While a contact sport like rugby without pads looks violent - the shots to the heads are far less frequent while tackles made within the scrums aren't run-up collisions at nearly the same frequency as Roger's diluted product dressed up as parody. You can't change physics with greed; but the red-haired rascal likes to pretend he's God no matter how many more humans he puts an inceased risks he has the power to reduce (but refuses).

Did anyone in here HATE watching football when it featured guys like Walter Payton, Jim Brown, Leroy Kelly, Greg Pruitt or Larry Csonka? It still had a vertical game but offenses weren't sending Receivers over the middle at Jack Lambert; like the Browns chose to do at James Harrison when Mo Massaquoi and Josh Cribbs were knocked unconscious by the crown of James Harrison's helmet. Harrison's neck size had the circumference of a well grown oak tree meaning he could withstand such a habit. All that to say this - Roger could care less about the safety of the NFL players while he's going world wide to promote the Sunday Ticket sales that have gifted NFL owners with the highest shared revenues ever in the last 10 years or so...
