Trump vs Biden National Debt Comparison: Who Added More?

Trump vs Biden debt: which president added more to the national debt? Full comparison with verified Treasury data and inflation-adjusted figures.

In raw dollar terms, Obama ($8.59T), Trump ($8.48T), and Biden ($8.17T) each added roughly similar amounts. In percentage terms, Reagan holds the modern record at 186%, followed by W. Bush at 101%. Context matters enormously — Obama inherited the Great Recession, Trump faced COVID-19, and Biden inherited both pandemic aftereffects and rising interest rates.

    Covid destroyed everything.

I'm still waiting for Trump to lower the debt and prices. Can't do that while in a war with Iran and having the Strait closed.

Judges kept ruining his tariffs, did he not do it correctly or did the judges over step their authority with technicalities?

Lefties ruined what Musk was trying to do.

Was he full of shit, or met with too much opposition?

    Biden was just useless.

I’m impressed. Well done Jax. It leads you to believe we no longer have a major party that cares about fiscal responsibility. I don’t think anyone in their right mind counts on a democrat to balance the budget, although Clinton was the last guy to do it. Republicans were our last hope, but it seems that ship has sailed too.

There’s always going to be shit that comes up that might bust a budget, but shouldn’t the goal be to aim for a balanced budget at the very least? The BBB was not that.

It’s not even a priority anymore and it’s going to cause major consequences for our kids.

Securing investments doesn’t actually help the deficit if spending still exceeds those investments. Time will tell. You seem to have more faith than l do.

We now have a debt tracker thanks to Jax, and it stands to reason Trump has 2 years to make that number go down, so we can revisit this topic a year and 2 years from now.

If Trump pulls it off, then l’m the sucker who didn’t have enough faith. And if it doesn’t, that means you’re the sucker.

I‘m sure we’ll both acknowledge being suckers without any excuses depending on how it pans out. We’ll talk later.

You’re rambling Calf. We’ll see what happens with the deficit. I’m less confident than you that Trump will turn the tide, but we’ll see. One of us will be suckers, but we gotta wait a year or two to see who.

For my part l hope l’m the sucker, because that means the budget will be balanced and we’re making headway on the deficit.

Biden gets credit for 8.4 of it, and Trump gets credit for the rest, and counting. It’s an untenable situation. My hope of hopes is the rest of the populace makes it a priority when they cast their vote, but l’m not hopeful that will happen.

Not trying to be a pain here, but apples to apples.

The Citizens United Supreme Court Decision destroyed everything too. Our new Civil War is a quest for power by the two asinine major parties as a result of it, and ordinary Americans are paying for it.

Capitol Hill isn't working for us, they only work for their party platform. It's BS.

I have absolutely zero faith in both parties.

Look at the 2 losers running for governor in Ohio ( vote for Don Kissick please).

Look at the 2 losers running for Senate in Ohio. Sherrod Brown at one time was ok, now he says after he got the boot that he will "fix things," well you had 30 years to try. Husted? HELL NO.

100% on covid. That accountend for $4.5 trillion in relief spending and a major loss to revenue that we may never have a true understanding.
