The 53 for the start of '26

It's always interesting to see where the initial cuts fall. I guess we already got the slam dunk cuts out of the way. Now it gets down to the tough cuts as it gets down to more familiar names and or guys who could have or maybe should have made the final cut downs.
It's funny how if I was a player in that position I wonder how I would react. I would be good if the coach told me I wasn't good enough to make the final roster. We all have opinions. If the coach tried to make it easier on himself by talking about it being a matter of numbers, I might be tempted to tell the coach to fuck off because he doesn't know how to count.
It's always interesting to see where the initial cuts fall.
For me it's usually an offensive skill position guy. I don't really have one this year...although the closest would be Luke Floriea....'cept that I don't like midgets in football, which is why I don't have one this year. But I've seen years where this undrafted guy would catch everything thrown anywhere near him. And we had a WR room full of ball droppers. And the announcers would be saying, whoa! This guy is going to make roster cuts awfully difficult. It was during Petine's tenure. He was even asked, Is So-And-So making it awfully difficult to cut him. And Petine answers, Yes, So And So is making awfully difficult to cut him. And I'm there thinking, Well, don't effin' cut him then. Cut one of those bums who keep dropping the ball. But of course, So And So is among the cuts. About 10 years ago we had another receiver that caught everything in sight. In the last preseason game, he turned his head at the last second to see the ball was going past him and he literally reached out with both hands and caught the back end of the ball on it's way by. And I'm like, We NEED this friggin' guy. But, he was an undrafted no-name and we didn't keep him.
I think Floriea is the guy for most Browns fans for this year. And last year, except he pulled a hamstring while making a great catch last year so he wasn't able to be kept.
Cedrick Tillman - He's a guy that I liked because he is a willing, and good, blocker for the run game. But unfortunately, he wasn't able to get open in order to catch passes. I was glad to see that they cut him before the Patriots game so that he wouldn't be taking snaps away from other receivers.
I think it's going to be interesting to see what positions are brought in on Monday afternoon in that first wave of signings after roster cuts tomorrow.

When I google up the Browns depth chart WR Floriea is not on it, yet he is not on this cut list either. So what's up with that?

So our #3 draft pick QB is now gone. And someone who got no fanfare whatsoever makes the team. Taller and faster. Makes sense in the long run.
EDIT: He's on IR

I just read that news. While it's within the rules, wow something must be churning in the background.
AB is always tinkering with the back end of the roster. Maybe he's shopping DG or crazier yet, SS.

Looks like the Browns saved a roster spot by cutting Punt Returner Larvadain. Not surprised because I said early on that KC Concepcion would take over those duties as well as WR and give them an extra spot to use. Looks like that's what they did.
EDIT: Looking at ESPN Depth Chart looks like Bond will be the punt returner instead of KC. That will last maybe a few games before they realize they have a better one on the team I'll bet.

Actually I'd prefer my return men not be from the 1st round of a draft.

Yeah, he's on IR designated to return with a back issue supposedly. There was a little movement involving backup QB's between the Jets & Dolphins. And Gabriel is a guy mentioned occasionally when backup QB's are mentioned for various teams. Seems like Berry knows he got too many QB's that he doesn't want to just give away for free so he's doing anything in his power to keep them all protected until someone wants to trade for one of 'em.

What position(s) do we think will be brought in on Monday? -- I'd be thinking DE/DL, C, CB. Maybe TE, but we do have a FB.
Guys I'd like to see get to our PS:
Lavardaine (even though I don't like midgets in the nfl, he's been with us and can slide right in if needed), Floriea (another little guy, but he's performed well for us each of the last 2 preseasons), Logan Fano (might possess good dna), RB's Marshall & Booth, CB Trey Avery

Yeah, I edited that to reflect Bond will be returning punts. I just bet it won't last.

I dare say I think Zak Zinter deserved to make the team. Even though he got Barney Fife'd for a holding call - the replay showed both his hands were placed on the front of the DL's shoulder pads (and 1 of his hands was clenching a handfull of opponent's jersey) which can be called on virtually any play. There was another holding call that was mistakenly given to Zinter before the commentator corrected it a play or so later assigning it to another OL/teammate's jersey #. That injury he suffered vs Ohio State was a compound fracture on 2 different bones in the lower leg at the end of November in his final season of college football. I was shocked he was cleared for full contact the 1st day of training camp. This was a good enough football player to command the amount of respect needed to be voted as a Team Captain of an Unbeaten National Champion; so I'm glad the Browns exercised some patience and understanding of the psychological portion of a full recovery. I liked what I've seen this year that I haven't been able to see from him his 1st 2 years. I also think our 6th round Wypler Snapper from Ohio State has played like a keeper (after his previous bouts with injuries in the the past).

I hear ya Aggies.? We now have one of college football's elite return men from last year - but in Cleveland we're saving him for the forward pass only? Like it says on a frozen juice can "CONCENTRATE"...
