Current status of the Rams 2027 first round pick - kinda' sorta'
-
Iβm sure no one else is talking about this, but Rams v. Giants is the Redhawk bowl.
McVay and Harbaugh are both Miami guys, actively perpetuating the whole βcradle of coachesβ thing. I guess technically Harbaugh is a Redskin and McVay is a Redhawk.
It looks like the Redhawk is spanking the Redskin, which is an insensitive thing to say.

Anywhere from 9th overall to 24th. No thanks to the Giants for losing so miserably to them.
Way early to project, but the 9th seems like the best we could hope for and LA is a team that could still go all the way, so 9th to 32 is more the early projection. And really, 9th is probably more like 15.

So if we beat the Rams in the SB, we'll have picks #31 & #32.
This is my dream scenario, and last draft talk til February?

Well then don't post on my 2027 draft thread due early next week after the next debacle.?
Ya gotta wait at least until October hits. Unless we KNOW that it's a QB that we must have. Which we kind of already know that I guess.
How's this? Watson plays pretty well all season and we make big strides in competitiveness, winning games, being respected, maybe a playoff birth. We still go into the draft, move up into position and take one of the QB's that we covet. (should they still seem worthy due to their play this season) Then we work with Watson to see if there's an amicable price that we can keep him at. And/or work all of our tools to part ways with him, up to and including a June 1st roster cut. I know that everybody hates him...but the other QB's don't. He actually contributes his knowledge on them that he thinks might help them to become better QB's. Doesn't that seem out of character for how he's viewed? Now maybe that's just his way of showing off just how smart that is...which would seem more 'in character'
Certainly Sanders has said that Watson was a big help to him. I certainly would not have any problem with our new high 1st round pick sitting behind a solid playing Watson for a year. -

I promise I won't!!!!
I get it, fans get into the draft as it offers "hope & change," yet here in Cleveland it's at a ridiculous level IMHO.
Maybe someday it changes, but we'd probably need 5 straight years of winning football or some other miracle?

Oh, I didn't claim the Browns would be any good at it. They got Garrett right, but whiffed on King Henry not once, but twice. And then there was the trading away of all those 1st rounders + for the dubious QB now running the O.

For the millionth time, the Browns had Nick Chubb on the roster.
Your love affair for Henry is duly noted, again.

? Is Aggies doing that again?
With all of the things we've had to complain about with the Browns over the years - Nick Chubb wasn't one of them. Chubb was a steal at #35 overall (as the 2nd of two 2nd round picks in 2018). As for Henry, who did not start as a rookie in 2016; and didn't have his 1st season rushing over 1000 yards until 2018 - was the 45th pick overall by TN. There's NO DOUBT Henry became a terrific RB that had a lot of fans/teams thinking in hindsight "why didn't we take him?" Because Chubb was immediately awesome rushing for 996 yards @ 5.2 yards per carry and 8 TDs as a rookie - there was no reason to prefer a RB that was only one third of a RB committee in Nashville until his 3rd NFL season at that point in time.
Chubb's Career Totals in Cleveland: 7 seasons, 89 games played, 1340 carries, 6843 yards rushing, 5.1 yards per carry, 51 TDs rushing.
From Jim Brown & Bobby Mitchell to Leroy Kelly to Greg Pruitt to Mike Pruitt to Earnest Byner to Kevin Mack to Leroy Hoard. New millenium RBs: Peyton Hillis, Jamal Lewis, Nick Chubb and Quinshon Judkins. Since 1969 I've always enjoyed the Browns' running games and I know my dad did long before that.
I liked Eric Metcalf more in open fields than up the middle so he was a thrill to watch returning punts and kickoffs (the next few teams that had him used him more efficiently as a Receiver in the slot/outside. His 2 Punt Returns for TDs vs Pittsburgh in 1 game as a Brown were beautiful - as was the the kickoff return for a TD vrs Buffalo in the playoff game I attended...

And which one is still tearing up the league every damn year while the other is medically retired. I wonder!!???
And Tenn was stupid to have him on a committee. So there.?

And yet not one team that has the great Henry on it ever wins anything.... so there! ?

If he got on the Rams he would.?

Let's hope for a very disappointing season for the Rams!
With their best offensive and defensive players missing for now, I wouldn't count on it.

Let's have the losses stack up while they're out. They play the Eagles & Bills over the next 2 weeks.
