Final: Jets (2-3) 17, Browns (3-2) 12 · Week 5

We can't run - OLine is not producing in the run game at all. And it seemed like there was always a free rusher bearing down on Watson as soon as he caught the shotgun snap. The Offense cannot be effective with the OLine performing like that.
This is a costly loss in terms of conference tiebreakers and injured players.
@Orion I’d be interested in seeing the All-22 in regards to Judkins to see if he’s missing holes, but I swear half the time he gets the ball he’s hit immediately.
The OLine was just overmatched today. We were lucky not to get sacked another handful of times today, honestly. -

The all-22 would be interesting but I do know judkins is far and away the leader in the nfl in getting hit at or behind the line of scrimmage and that's not a running back problem that's a oline problem. -

Running out of shotgun all the time isn't helping, but it is what it is probably as long as Watson is the QB.
I sincerely hope whoever the eventual QB of the future is will be coached up to be able to play under center. -

I say the shotgun helps stupid twatson from screwing up more dramatically/ints, but gave the Jets defense better attack points.
twatson is stupid, and doesn't roll out well - doesn't read the field well. Limits play action to a point, and lets the defense attack
all out, giving the oline serious problems. Like, where was twatson throwing to Fannin????? ONE pass for four yards?@calfoxwc said:

Watson is flawed but he's honestly playing the best QB we've had since Mayfield. He had so many great passes that were dropped.
Bond was the big loser today, not watson. And the run game in general -
Watched the game on delay so couldn't join earlier. My prediction was 24-16 Browns win, I was pretty close to the Jets' score but didn't foresee our Offense crapping it's pants so badly. However Minkah Fitzpatrick is in a new division but just as dirty, not satisfied with ending Chubb's career now taking it out on KC. KC's loss was a big reason we lost today as we couldn't replace him, Bond was terrible and don't know why Jeudy wasn't running those plays instead. The O line play also deteriorated after Howard went down so the run game became even worse and we need a blocking TE badly. Defense kept us in the game but unfortunately ST lost it for us, that botched punt was the ballgame. I won't crucify Watson as he still kept us in the game despite Bond's drops and poor route running ( I'm sure that missed TD was on Bond, it was a scramble drill so he should have been running to the side of the EZ). A winnable game lost unfortunately.

I think I gave a quick breakdown of this in the RT9 thread. -
The Browns aren’t going to make the playoffs but being competitive is enough this year as the team is so young. Two drafts back to back look very good but obviously with three wins already they’re out of the running for the number one QB whoever that may be.
How else can they address the QB situation going into next year?

How else can they address the QB situation going into next year?I don't mind all that much that the Browns may not get the top qb in the draft. The "top qb" may very well NOT be the right guy. As in,
the Browns drafted Baker Mayfield instead of Josh Allen. I had Allen in my stupid mock draft. So, just draft the RIGHT QB. -
This Jets game - twatson needs to go after this season. Give it up, Browns. I don't get it - all the hate was on Baker, even when the oline struggled, and the wr core was far less than what it should have been. Now, nothing matters about the qb now, when twatson fails again and again, with a fine wr group, a far better oline, better TE group, and a coach that isn't stupanski. Anyways, here is a few videos about it:
Just give it up. twatson is a very athletic scumbag - doesn't react/see the field well, doesn't have the skills to be a shotgun qb, but he is more comfortable in it.....whatever. The Jets outplayed the very talented Browns, they outcoached the Browns vs the Browns offense.

Unfortunately, Watson's first potential day out of a Browns uniform is the second day (March 12) of the 2027 league year -- that's when you can cut a guy and designate as post-June-1. Watson OTC

@calfoxwc How many fantasy points did Baker score compared to Deshaun when they faced each other a couple weeks ago?
Cuz you were talking a lot before the game about this, but for some reason you’ve never told us how that worked out.
And you actually wrote that Watson has a far better OLine
than the top ranked OLine that Baker had?
As absolutely brain dead as the typical MAGAflake is, you take the cake. -

Anyone else notice Bond can't seem to catch a ball without jumping or leaving the ground??

but if you get hit in the air compared to your feet on the ground, don't you stand more of a chance for a injury

Yes.
But I think in his head jumping/leaping will help him avoid getting his head tore off because his head in theory would be higher than the defensive player expects, or something?
I'm reaching for straws here, honestly. It's the only thing I can come up to why he leaps for passes that don't need to have a receiver jump for them.
