Looking Ahead to the 2027 NFL Draft

The Rams lost their opening day game to the 49'ers. And Myles Garrett's name did not appear on the Stat Sheet.

True. On top of that, Aaron Donald didn't want to play yet. Now why was that significant? It was easy for Brock Purdy to step up in the pocket; so Trent Williams could continue to escort the sack-free/tackle-free Myles Garrett behind & beyond the well protected passer all night.

Most probably. He wants to be associated with the Mannings in the worst way.

It's awfully difficult to build a winning team when you have to try and do it IN SPITE OF your owner's unproductive meddling.

It's such an obvious prediction to make, though.

Haslam looooooove him some Mannings, Arch is a big name and the Browns need to sell PSLs and you just know Jimmy wants to make a splash as he heads towards Brookpark.

It would be pretty funny if Arch just decides to play one more season of college football.

He will trade both first picks to draft Manning

If needed to get him, I totally see it.

But we'll see if the Browns don't slide down naturally to a pick cloae to the top to be able to take him without trading up.

It's fine to report on a player's shortcomings. All players have shortcomings. But I think it's also important to tie it up in a bow. Is the player's shortcomings a deal breaker? Is he a player that should be a 1st round pick? (upper, middle, lower?) How does he compare with his direct competition? Would you want your team to draft him, should they require a player at his position?
It's like doing a yearly review of your subordinates. You start the review with positives. Then you work your way into the negatives. And finally you finish with positives...like, We just need to clean up a thing or two but you're a great asset to this department....yadda, yadda.

Because you know darned well that the player WILL be drafted, making him out to be junk is is probably not productive....unless you're reviewing Tim Tebow as a 1st round candidate. Finishing with positives will leave a better taste in a reader's mouth.

I honestly believe he will stay another season, and he should.

You're right; at the same time I'm not one to sugar coat if a 1st rounder is worthy of that status. If they aren't, yet being talking about in circles as such, then the critique to the NOT will be 1st, 2nd & 3rd chapters.

Arch is physically capable and he has improved his throwing motion a bit over the course of the off-season. But the problems with eye discipline and processing at the 3rd level still remain. I suppose phrasing it like that takes some of the edge off?

...unless you're reviewing Tim Tebow as a 1st round candidate.

We don't use that name here. 😂

@Dutch-Oven - I love the Shrodinger's QB Stuff quote. (Physics, Shrodinger's Cat...both dead and alive at the same time)
How much does anyone want to bet that Manning will be drafted much higher than #24?

@Orion There’s not a chance in hell i would bet against you in that. I should go back since the Browns came back and post every QB drafted in the first 24 picks if all the drafts. We would laugh our asses off at some of the reaches on that list.

Yup. But it's because it's the QB position. If you need a QB, then you're screwed. You can't win. You can't make the playoffs. You just suck. So you have to take some swings for a home run because otherwise you've go no hope at all.

@Orion Some positions that I think we will be focusing on seem pretty well represented too beyond QB… cornerback, defensive end, OLine.
