Who do you think our starting QB will be?

@nickers Sayin could very well be returning to college next season, he didn’t exactly improve off his 2025 season and he’s probably out for the rest of this one. I’m not sure what NFL scouts thought of him going into the season, but we probably thought higher of him than they did, I’m guessing.
I thought he would be much better.. But to me... He's just "Okay"@nickers There was no progress from last season

@Orion and if they draft that quarterback by the time hes halfway decent the guys who were ready to win with a qb are now moving on.
Judkins and Fannin are in their second season. Fano, Barber, Boston and Concepcion are all rookies.
And here's a newsflash, the drafts are going to keep coming.@Dutch-Oven said:

At least with the talent improving on this Browns' team - we don't have to worry about scaring any 1st round QBs back to college football. There's suddenly weapons to throw to which should interest any young QB coming out.
I wish the NCAA would do something about how much schools are allowed to pay QBs - although I'm not complaining about how much Michigan is willing to overpay their QB. -

better coaching and better players around him, texas with the talent "THEY" have will not even sniff the playoffs this year
Texas has good enough talent around him that Arch has been unable to get the most out of.
This is the equivalent of your golfing buddy going to buy a new set of clubs because he think's they'll make his game better. Guy has barely mastered what he has been given.
The bulk of Arch's issues are on him. Some of the lapses I've seen him make are something NO coach installs/teaches. -

Your argument is self defeating. If he was simply THAT much better, then he would be elevating the talent around him at Texas and contending for a title THIS year.
He isn't... and that's why he's falling down draft boards. But I agree with you that it will be interesting to see how the rest of his collegiate career plays out. -
No matter what people on the outside think, the Browns’ players like Watson and they see him as their leader.
“On the football field, you kind of need your quarterback to be confident. You kind of need your quarterback to be having fun. That’s why when I see stories of him throwing a party for his teammates, and the teammates reacting to it, and looking at him as if he’s a leader. That stuff does matter on the field. Some of you will never see him as any of that, but you gotta face the facts. His teammates do. His teammates are looking up to him. His teammates are picking his brain. His teammates are treating him as if he is our Patrick Mahomes,” Lima said.

no I said that OSU has a better roster and coaching staff than texas and he would win here
edit: I also believe that he is better than any qb on the roster including Sayin -

Because Texas might literally laugh at that and point at the door and say "Good luck Arch in Columbus" if that happened at this point.
yes I have watched and i still say he is better than any qb on our roster -

He really isn't any heads and shoulders above Sayin though. I get what you're saying, possibly playing with superior talent.
But again, if you can't maximize what you have currently, then that talent here with carry you disproportionate to what they're paying him.
Would much rather invest a full off-season in TSC. -

Man, that was awesome!
It looks to me that it takes him time to get comfortable/confident against opposing defenses each week. Yes, it can look/feel ugly early while he's careful not to turn the ball over. However, when there's no room for error later in the game that he's had us in each week of winning - he's making the key completions to help us win games. More specifically, he's not the level of careless that prevents this TEAM from winning while we know he's not Tom Brady.
I try not to lose perspective when at times in the 1st quarter he reminds me of a kid sticking his toes in a cold pool before he's confident enough to know he can jump in. A lot of this is all the new players to the Browns lineup starting this year and beginning to form chemistry working together when preseason was used more to rest starters in order to stay healthy. -

These quarterbacks could be available for Ohio State in the transfer portal if Julian Sayin isn't coming back in 2027, and if Luke Fahey and Tavien St. Clair don't work out.

Ohio State has a present Julian Sayin problem after the quarterback was knocked out of the Indiana game with a throwing shoulder injury in Week 7. OSU may also have a future Sayin problem.
It's unclear when Sayin will be back in the fold, or, quite frankly, if he'll be back in the fold ever again. We know he won't be back for a while, at best.If being a high first-round NFL draft pick is still an option for Sayin this coming April, the Buckeyes don't seem to have a long-term Plan B in the quarterback room right now. It was supposed to be Tavien St. Clair, but Luke Fahey ripped the QB2 job from him. Is Fahey ready for this opportunity to save the program this season, though? What about beyond that? Is he championship material?
If neither Fahey nor St. Clair can put Ohio State in a position to win in 2027, and Ryan Day knows that heading into the transfer portal window in January, here are some proven veteran options he can pursue.Oregon State's Braden Atkinson
Everyone will have their eyes on Oregon State quarterback Braden Atkinson's movements in the transfer portal. After transferring from Mercer, Atkinson has 2,604 total passing yards and 24 passing touchdowns so far this season. That leads the FBS.
Thus far, Atkinson has struggled a bit against man coverage, even with freshman phenom Jesse Legree, who is accounting for 1,040 of those yards and 14 of those touchdowns. That wouldn't necessarily be alleviated with the talented receiving corps the Buckeyes have. Ohio State is a few portal losses and de-commitments away from no longer having the "WRU" talent of the Brian Hartline era.
Still, Atkinson has such a big arm and has dominated so thoroughly with the talent around him in Corvallis that Day and Arthur Smith would have to do their due diligence. If Smith could work with Sayin to improve his mobility and willingness to use his legs, perhaps he could help Atkinson become more of a playmaker besides slinging it downfield.Texas' Arch Manning
This would be a much more exciting option, fit-wise, with Smith's play-calling. Of course, the price tag for Arch Manning may be enormous after he took a discount for the 2026 season in Austin, and if Texas continues to lose, perhaps the Longhorns would cut bait with Steve Sarkisian and do everything to keep Manning for the 2027 season.
If Manning becomes available, though, Columbus is an intriguing fit. Manning has said he prefers big cities to smaller college towns, after all.
Would Manning be worth the gamble, though? It feels like a sacrilegious thought for Arch to leave the SEC blueprint, and the Buckeyes will lose plenty of the veteran offensive linemen currently powering protection.Minnesota's Drake Lindsey
This may be the sweet spot.
Drake Lindsey has a great frame at six-foot-five and isn't getting the same hype as Atkinson's play or Manning's last name. He'll probably come at a cheaper price point and has plenty of reps in the Big Ten at this point. Added bonus: he's beaten TTUN. -

Drake Lindsey is an interesting name. But I think he would do well to stay serve at Minny.
