@Ibleedbrown Then there’s the weird saga of the other TE we drafted from Cincinnati (Ohio State prior to there) who is going through something undisclosed and hasn’t been with the team. I think he was drafted to be a complement to Fannin.

Yeah, Joe Royer. I did a quick search and apparently there is some unsavory stuff out there about him. Found this Yahoo article.

  • Two days ago, after I had stated that we need some TE blocking to help the OL, the Browns signed Carsen Ryan from the practice squad to the active roster. And then yesterday they waived him. 😞 I'm guessing they could see that he won't be any help to either of the tackles.

Could you imagine? "The Browns are actually giving me my chance to show what I can contribute this week!" 1 day later they send him packing and ask him to turn in his playbook. Sad truth is that's the nature of the beast in the NFL Another former TE from BYU named Todd Christensen was cut like this in the 80s before he made 5 Pro Bowls for the Raiders.

    Ugh. He's a freakin' a-hole apparently!

I don't know how much background checking any team does on players drafted that far down the board.

Wouldn't be an Andrew Berry draft without a high character individual such as this.

Fano needs to learn how to pass protect fast.

It's definitely been an up and down rookie season for him.

I hope they continue to add young talent to the OLine via the draft. The vets they brought in are all are relatively short contracts.

New Orleans is similar to the Browns in many ways, specifically their slooooooooooow starts offensively and the fact they cannot run the ball.

Thank you! I don't feel so bad for him then. Per the part in bold above, you're probably right. Not only that, they can probably add contract incentives that would make an asshole maybe just a cubed-root of an asshole during the season.

Kind of sucks, I always had a soft spot for him because:

    1. He played at Ohio State
    2. He looked like the kid from 'Bad Santa' grown up.
