    Answers to the November trivia:

    1. What was the name of the first Buffalo franchise to play in the NFL?

THE BUFFALO ALL AMERICANS PLAYED FROM 1920-1923

    2. Who did the Buffalo Bills defeat in the 1964 and 1965 AFL title games?

THEY BEAT THE SAN DIEGO CHARGERS BOTH YEARS

    3. In last year's "Snow Bowl" game between the Browns and Bills, how many turnovers did each team have?

NONE, NOT A ONE. PLENTY OF PUNTS. THERE WERE A COUPLE OF FUMBLES BUT THEY WERE RECOVERED BY THE TEAM WITH THE BALL.

    4. Name all of the Ohio cities that have ever had an NFL located there.

CLEVELAND (E.G. THE BROWNS, RAMS, ETC.) CINCINNATI (BENGALS, CELTS), COLUMBUS (PANHANDLES), AKRON (PROS...THE VERY FIRST NFL CHAMPS), CANTON (BULLDOGS), DAYTON (TRIANGLES), TOLEDO (MAROONS), PORTSMOUTH (SPARTANS...NKA DETROIT LIONS), MANSFIELD (OORANG INDIANS).

    5. What is the all time series record between Ohio State and the Univ. of Illinois?

AS OF WHEN THE QUESTION WAS ASKED: 60-30-4, OSU. NOW IT IS 61-30-4.

    6. Name the Heisman Trophy winners that came from Illinois.

KIND OF A TRICK QUESTION: THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS HAS NEVER HAD A HEISMAN TROPHY WINNER....AND ONLY ONE COLLEGE IN THE STATE OF ILLINOIS HAS EVER HAD ONE: THE VERY FIRST HEISMAN AWARDED WAS GIVEN TO JAY BERWANGER OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO. AND FYI, THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO NO LONGER HAS A FOOTBALL PROGRAM...UNLESS IT PLAYS IN DIVISION III. ALSO, BERWANGER WAS THE VERY FIRST PICK EVER IN THE NFL COLLEGE DRAFT....HOWEVER, HE CHOSE NOT TO PLAY FOOTBALL AND HAD A CAREER IN BUSINESS.

    7. Since the inception of college football, what school has won the most Division I national titles?

PRINCETON UNIVERSITY HAS WON 28 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. REMEMBER, UP TIL ABOUT THE 1920S, THE IVY LEAGUE DOMINATED THE SPORT. SO THOSE SCHOOLS WON A LOT OF TITLES. AS FOR THE NON IVY LEAGUE ERA, IT IS NOTRE DAME.

    8. According to US News and World Report and Forbes magazine, which college is ranked #1 academically in the US?

THAT WOULD BE: PRINCETON ALSO. THOUGH PRINCETON HAS LOST ITS FOOTBALL PROWESS IT HAS NOT LOST ITS ACADEMIC PROWESS.

    9. Since the inception of the college playoff system in 1973, which Division 1-AA school has won the most national titles?

GEORGIA SOUTHERN WITH 6 TITLES. SECOND IS YOUNGSTOWN STATE WITH 4.

    10. Same question as above except for Division II?

NORTH DAKOTA STATE HAS 5 TITLES. GRAND VALLEY STATE IN MICHIGAN HAS 4.

    11. Same question as above except for Division III?

MT. UNION COLLEGE IN ALLIANCE OHIO HAS 9 DIVISION III TITLES. AUGUSTANA, ILL. HAS 4.

    12. Name all of the Ohio colleges that have won a Division III national titles.

MT. UNION, BALDWIN-WALLACE, DAYTON, WITTENBERG, HEIDELBERG, CAPITAL.

“What Can BROWN Do For You!” Record for the year. 9-7 + or - 1 and not being swept by any team in the division.

The Massillon Tigers were never a franchise in the NFL. They were in some semi-pro leagues or club leagues but never the NFL. There may have been some conversation about bringing them in to the league, but it never happened.
