The NFL fined Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis $25,000 on Friday for two separate plays, including a helmet-to-helmet hit on Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco.
The Ravens said Lewis will appeal the fine.
Both plays occurred in the fourth quarter of Baltimore's 17-14 loss on Sunday. The league deemed that Lewis "unnecessarily kicked the opponent" and later "unnecessarily struck a defenseless receiver."
During the latter play, Lewis hit Ochocinco after a pass from Carson Palmer sailed incomplete, and the 15-yard penalty for unnecessary roughness helped set up the winning touchdown with 22 seconds remaining
.It would be nice to see some consistency with on these fines with some other cheapshot artists like Ward and the little girl Pamalulu.

The Steelers aren't doing anything more than other teams and players do in this day and age. I'm not saying the Steelers are doing steroids, I'm just saying they do no more than the Browns do to get ready to play football. They are just a better team. Get over it.

While I agree with you that it is about time the NFL put a fine on Ray the thug, you are way off base with Ward and Troy. Neither of these two players are known to take cheap shots. Both are known for giving devistating hits but not illegal. In fact the rule they call the "Ward rule" will cause more injuries to players.
