Woof Woof: Week 11 Fantasy Football Follies
-
Take a look at the standings and see for yourselves that it's still open season in all four leagues. It's also time for you geeks to get busy and hash out a formula to decide the Browns Board overall champion. Grab your calculators, spreadsheets, or sliderules and get to figuring! We await your brilliant thoughts on the subject.
Beanpot's League ONE: The GM/Coach of WVBrownsfan declares his team "Mediocrity at its best." Calfox countered on behalf of his KosarDawgs, "(We're) worse than mediocre. Maybe we'll get to mediocre this week." The two teams faced off this week in the battle for mediocrity and the result was ... a tie. It was a bittersweet outcome for both teams made either better ... or worse for Calfox because the tie was a result of the zero points posted by Buffalo's Lee Evans in the game against Cleveland. If you see Calfox and he has a bruise in the middle of his forehead, it's likely because he's been banging his head against anything immobile. The tie leaves the KosarDawgs in fourth place at 6-4-1, a hairs breadth ahead of WPB Browns and the BrownDogs at 6-5-0.
WPB Browns, suffering from a late season slump, dropped their third in a row, losing to Greenville Mayhem 63-80. Anquan Boldin (25) and Frank Gore (19) helped boost Mayhem over the 1000 point mark for the season. The point total could prove to be a significant factor in determining whether or not the team ends up in the playoffs. Mayhem has a critical matchup this week against the league leading Beanpot, who has won three in a row. This week's 97-46 win for Beanpot came at the expense of OYGB who showed some spark earlier in the season but has started to fade.
The BrownDogs kept themselves in the hunt by defeating the Ballantyne CraZeez, 84-69.

Beanpot's League TWO: The Cleveland Cribbs, trying to make a run for the playoffs, can thank Joseph Addai (26) for the 89-87 win over NavDawg. This gives the Cribbs a record of 5-6-0 heading into what should be an easy game against the PackRats. Week 13 follows with what could prove to be the decisive game of the season against THE HAMMER. The battle for the fourth seed in the playoffs is still very much up for grabs.
The Usual Suspects subjected Lambdo's AirShow to a 102-73 drubbing. Brady Quinn was in and was expected to ignite the AirShow. Instead, Brady (4), Jamal Lewis (4), and Kellen Winslow (5) kept Lambdo fizzling on the ground.
Beanpot delivered a 94-58 knockout punch to another beer please whose only hope is an early draft pick next season. Julius Jones, Edgerrin James, and Lee Evans all dished out goose eggs to go with that brew for abp.
The Suspects and Beanpot scrimmage this week in a game that could decide the top seed in League TWO.
The spoilers added some spice to the mix this week. Huskymania relished a 32 point performance from Matt Cassell and kicked the Traveling Pants where it hurt, 84-69. And Jumpin' Jack Flash put the whammy on the Rookies 90-78.

# Season Ending Injury Leaders: Matt Cassel 32, Marion Barber 21
Notes:
1)Team DangeRuss lost 11 pts by playing RB Chris Johnson instead of RB DeAngelo Williams
2) Season Ending Injury made an amazing recovery for a win and the league's high score of 120 pts. after last weeks devestatng loss. Unfortunately, SEI is going to have to do something with Earnest Graham who was left in again this week scoring 0 pts because his ankle injury may have him out the rest of the season.
3) 2yy4u could have doubled is 9 pts at his QB position to 18 by playing Payton Manning instead of Kurt Warner. He also came up with a 0 by playing RB Reggie Bush instead of Leon Washing (16) ouch.
4) RB Ryan Grant (16) and WR Lance Moore and their combined 36 pts sat on the bench watching as Plaxico Burress and Ronnie Brown played for a combonation of 11 pts for My Helmet's 2 Tight. Amazingly the team still won the match up despited Helmet's fumbleing move. Maybe they need to looses the helmet.
5) vdogrowz left 17 pts on his bench by playing WR LenDale White (3) instead of Maurice Jones-Drew.
6) Corky Crennels Byah! asked the smack question...whaen will fatboy get canned?
7) We come to DaManBeagles. Sigh. What can I say? I think when I said wake up league 4, DaManBeagles decided to put his team to sleep. Laurence Maroney who is still on the IR was left in yet again. Agreed that he does not have much to work with at RB but the option to go and get another RB from the players list is still there.
So I don't leave the impression that the news is all bad, Team DangeRuss and Brownsfaninkorea are battleing for the top and will probably do so in the playoffs making for some excitement in the league and the rest of league 4 is giving their best shots to make it into the top spots.

! I wish I were kidding. It was truely funny, funnier than usual if that is possible.Great job putting this together as usual Kathy! Where do you find the time?
Tom, great Christmas theme btw. I guess I came up with a turkey this week

Good luck to the stat geeks (and you know who you are) on figuring out the supreme leader of the BrownsBoard this year. And good luck to all the teams heading for the playoffs. I'll just sit here and watch my cranberries jell.

Season Ending Injury has the top score and really SHOULD win the Viagra this week but I think Heidi and Tom deserve it instead. You guys are the bomb.

Thanks Kathy! You've really done a fabulous job with the WOOF WOOF column this year. I had a little extra time this week and I found myself in a goofey mood so I ran with it. Just know - I give you the green light to edit anything you see fit or add to things if you like.

I laughed so hard, my Kool aid came out of my nose

Cleveland Steamers
103 Final
Calfox KosarDawgs
78
Steamers: Hines Ward 19, Tyler Thigpen 17, NYG Def 17
Calfox: Phil Dawson 21, Brandon Jacobs 16, Philly Def 14
Ebeneezer Scrooge's Steamers only let Calfox Cratchet's kicker have fun. The rest of the Cratchet's couldn't outhustle Tiny Tim for points. Rumor has it Tiny Tim has lent Brandon Jacobs his cane. Stay tuned though because the Ghosts of Christmas present and Christmas future has a soft spot for those poor Cratchets.

Great job, Mr. Flugels !

LOL! Thanks for being a good sport Cal! The Ghost of Christmas Present paid me a visit to remind me those Cratchets turned the Flugelmaniacs into the Junior Varsity just a couple weeks ago. It's not like me ego wasn't already bruised from losing 4 of my last 5 while Bush, Witten, and Parker have taken the General Hospital detour.
