Here is a report I give a couple of times per year on when the last year each major league metro region won a title. In the case of those cities that have never had a title, I give the year they first had a major league team play in that town. By "Major League" I am referring to the 4 major sports, baseball, football, basketball, hockey. This will include any title won in a league that has "merged" with the big four leagues, e.g. the ABA, AFL, WHL etc. Also note, NFL titles are for year season was played, not year in which playoffs concluded:

2009 New York/New Jersey (MLB Yankees)

    2009 Pittsburgh (NHL Penguins)

    2009 Los Angeles/Anaheim (NBA Lakers)

2008 Oklahoma City no title, first year "Thunder" played there

    2008 Philadelphia (MLB Phillies)

    2008 Boston (NBA Celtics)

    2008 Detroit (NHL Redwings)

    2007 San Antonio (NBA Spurs)
