True.....I did just read somewhere it is listed as a broken ankle...I suppose that is good news, considering...

  • These 3 hours long practices are really helping conditioning!

Yeah, "conditioning" plays a huge part of avoiding injury when your ankle gets rolled up on.

Where was Mangini when Lake Erie caught fire?

  • yeah, because camp crennel was sooooooooooo productive.

these guys are pussies....they need the practice.

  • While there's no doubt Rodgers is truly injured, the number of injuries on the Browns seems pretty high.

I wonder if some players who have suffered injured might be able and willing to play if the team were a contender?

If I'm a player for the Browns this season and I go down with an injury, I'm gonna STAY down rather than risk a career ending injury. What's the point of playing out the string if you're less than fully healthy?

I'm not saying anyone's faking an injury but they'd be smart to play up the severity of the injury if it can keep them healthy long term.

I suppose some might say that's quitting on the team and the coach but I'd be hard pressed to say its not the smarter move.

  • Can anything else happen to us this season?!? Im so sick of this bullshit. Players getting hurt, coaches calling the dumbest plays they can come up with. wr,s not able to catch a cold the qb throwing the ball 20 yards out of bounds and the offense that wont even try to block. They would save us a lot of trouble and money and heartache to just quit now.

Could anything else happen? Yea, they could screw up and win a game and lose the #1 pick!

They always say you are more susceptible to injury when you are not playing hard. None of these guys have apparently played very hard this year. Perhaps that explains it.

  • Any update yet? *fingers crossed*

Come on Joe....be fair....the injuries aren't all that high, and trying to insinuate a broken bone is something better practice conditions could have prevents is absurd.

Don't even try to side with that.

I am cool with you and others not liking Mangini, but don't try to just make stuff up in some bogus effort to make a point.

Hell...Mangini allowed Rogers to sit out all pre-season with some made up injury to keep from practicing in the heat of summer.

If anything, beach about that as the reason Rogers broke his ankle..

  • I think Joe Six Pat has a point, somewhat. I don't think the players are faking injuries per se, but I do believe that our record and sorry performance week in and out is a factor. Let's face it, players want to win. That's why they play the game. If a team is doing bad, I think some injuries that tend to be minor may get blown out of proportions. A rolled ankle for a playeron a good team could be a high ankle sprain for someone on a bad one. Do I think that's the case with Shaun Rogers, D'Qwell, and Barton? No. But that could be the case for some of the other players that are always listed as questionable. It's not that they are faking, it's just that they have less incentive to get their way back on the field. And it's perfectly honorable, they are hedging their bets. The risk of more serious injury will not return a benefit greater than the cost of further harm. We won't make the playoffs, and we will still finish in the bottom of the league this season.

Look at it this way, do you think Matt Stafford would have fought his way through 5 trainers to finish out the drive if they were losing to us by 10?

I'm not sure what you're beef is. I said clearly that there's no doubt that Rodgers is injured. I didn't say a word about conditioning.

If you think he's faking or this is practice related you're welcome to that opinion but I'm not going to join you suggesting Roders is faking a broken ankle.

As far as other players, the vast majority of the NFL contenders have a high number of walking wounded. On a contending team they'll strap on their helmet and go out and play.

Why on earth would anyone advocate they risk hurting the Browns chances next season or their careers by playing injured to play out this season for the Browns?

Noted. If you think that "quitting" on the team or the coach is the smarter move...don't think that will escape whoever is making the decisions next year. Not the kind of player we want here anyway.
