Cleveland Browns game against San Diego Chargers will be televised locally

BEREA, Ohio -- The Browns averted a blackout of Sunday's 4:05 p.m game against the San Diego Chargers by teaming with WOIO Channel 19 and several local establishment to purchase the remaining tickets.
The tickets will be distributed to the Cleveland Foodbank, the United Way, the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, as well as other local organizations.
As of Tuesday, there were about 4,000 seats remaining, but the NFL granted the Browns a 24-hour extension until today at 4 to sell them. The game will now be shown on WOIO-TV.
It's the second time this season the Browns had to step in to avoid a blackout. The first was for the Nov. 16 game against the Ravens on ESPN's Monday Night Football. For that game, the Browns teamed with WJW-TV, ESPN and Bud Light to purchase the remaining seats.
If the game had been blacked out, it would've been the first time since the final game of the 1995 season -- the last game at the old Stadium -- Dec. 17th against the Bengals.
Of the Browns four remaining home games, tickets are still available for Sun. Dec. 27 against the Raiders and Sun. Jan. 3 against the Jaguars. Thursday night's game against the Steelers on NFL Network is sold out.
Tickets for Sunday's game are still available and can be purchased at ticketmaster.com, at all Ticketmaster locations, and at the Cleveland Browns Stadium box office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

This is great to hear.. let's just hope that the Browns give us a game so we don't have to wish it was blacked out.

Wouldn't the true act of Charity for Cleveland have been to let the blackout remain in place?
