DA just reinforced what I've known since the third game he started this season. He will never be anything more than what he is.....a guy lucky to be in the NFL, who is looking up at mediocrity. I really don't think another team would want him. Cut him immediately. I couldn't care less if Quinn is still on the team next season, but if you have to keep one of them....Quinn is the better qb. You would have to be an idiot blinded by hatred for Quinn or love for DA not to see that.

Agreed.... Quinn ain't great.... but DA is just absolutely historically AWFUL. Which his stats this year prove without a doubt.

    Historically AWFUL???????????

Um...didn't he like get to the pro-bowl 2 years ago??

    throw like 30 td's....???

you need a brief lesson in history my friend...

  • We surely need to send one of them to Oakland. Frye, Gradkowski ... if we dont send a QB to Oakland the bad luck will haunt us forever ! DA with his cannon arm can impress Al Davis and hence should go there.

BQ - Seattle would be a nice place for him.

Which leaves us with Brett Ratliff ! 😮

  • Fer cryin out loud.

DA can be fixed? ROF,L !

That's like saying Vinny Testeverde can be taught to not be a bit color blind.

DoofusArse is what he is, a big dumb qb with a great arm, lead feet, and can't think fast enough under pressure.

    Not any kind of pressure.

Trade Andersuck to the Raiders, so he can forever duke it out with Charlie Frye again, and they can

trade Jamarcus Russell to the Redskins as a backup.

DA is NOT cost-effective, and Quinn plays a smarter game when given the chance... once in a while.

The Texas Tech backup qb this season, that played in the bowl game, looks to be a better qb than either Quinn or DA.

I do note, however, that DA seems to be able to throw a softer touch pass on short throws !!! (in a high wind at -1 degrees chill factor LOL)

  • the thing you have to remember about this this is that we are going be switching to the west coast offense and quinn probably fits in well with that scheme. he is a short pass extraordinaire and could succeed with the proper coaching.

  • im sorry but it dont take much to hand the ball off im sure right now harrison could make eric crouch look good

im sorry but i think the way our offensive line has played over the last four games could make travis prentice look good

    VERSUS JAX

    J. Harrison Rushes 33 Yards 127 Average 3.8 TD 1 Long 17

    J. Cribbs Rushes 6 Yards 47 Average 7.8 TD 1 Long 25

    C. Jennings Rushes 9 Yards 38 Average 4.2 TD 0 Long 11

Give the fat guys some love. Major push.

  • Gonna be real tough for any team to justify paying DA current salary/cap value after this years performance. So he will most likely be around starting camp next july.

OTOH, BQ is certainly more marketable with his salary. There are those in the league who still see potential although durabliity issues are beginning to cloud the waters. Like somebody said above I can see BQ teaming up again with his ND pal Weiss.

  • I can see BQ going anywhere...DA needs to pack his bags and head north to the cfl...at least there he may get a chance to start..😉

  • DA stays...not what I want, just thinking Holmgren believes this guy can be fixed 😳

Quinn ends up wherever Weiss lands

    Very possible scenario

  • Quinn really hasn't had anyone to show him the ropes. Granted, he sat for nearly 2 years before he had to perform and fell on his face, but he was on the sideline comparing notes with a guy that has never been one that was considered a good play caller or 'defense reader'. If BQ had soemoen sharp to show him how to use his talent instead of DA, I think he'd pan out.

DA is terrible. The only reason he looked like a QB at all over the last few games is because they took away any passing privilages shortly after he'd underthrow guys once or twice. I could easily see him a Raider. His one time good season would get him some consideration from a weak porogram like the Raiders. Any team with any smarts will pass on him. The Browns attempt to get some trade value out of him over teh last few weeks failed miserably.

Don't want to see BQ go yet. Hate the idea of another 'player' coming to life elsewhere after the Browns tossed him. A good mentor and I think his strengths will start to mature.

  • isn't DA due a roster bonus in the next few days? Anyone have the details on that? Something like 3 million if he's on the roster today maybe?

If its soon, I see him cut so we don't have to pay him and it goes against the books for this season and not next season.

Yes, he got there and lost the game do to the same crap that he does over and over again. He sucks.

  • oh boy!! another QB thread, my favorite.

cfl, ufl, usfl, arena anywhere but CLE for DA. Why??? Because he is not a very good qb.

As for BQ, i don't really care anymore if he's here or gone. As long as we pick up a FA or draft a qb.Carolina or Miami could be a possibility though.(both could be looking for a training camp battle for the starting spot)

andersons td to int ratio is exactly 1:1 about 49 and 49 considering that he has been playing for the browns. don't think anyone could really of survived in cleveland untill of recent with the emergence of a running game that you can count on day in and day out. but here it is start of year 5 coming up for DA and as far as we know hell still be in the mix somewhere on this team.

??? Anderson's threw 3 TD passes this year, and 10 ints. The one he tossed against the Jags the CB was his intended receiver. His rating for this season is 41, which if he had had more attempts would have put him in the top 10 for sure (maybe #1 overall) as the worst passer rating in NFL history.

I have no idea why the Anderson pumpers can't finally admit Anderson's Pro Bowl year (BTW, he only made it because of injury & stunk it up in that game with no pass rush and the best wideouts in the NFL on his side) is a one year Scott Mitchell fluke.

DA's got a great arm, but so did Jeff George. & unlike George, DA was a sixth round draft pick, and a FA pickup. We've spent enough time "developing" him already. He is what he is- an erratic one pitch fastball thrower with lead feet that can't read a pro defense quickly enough.

even when they are both gone the debate will be who sucked the most.

  • They both suck!!!!

Last I saw Holmgren was not going to be the coach next season. He is going to be the president. Why does everybody think that just because the president ran a WCO when he coached that the Browns will be doing the same.

And speaking of that, you do know that when Holmgren was president - coach of the Seahawks they totally sucked. When he gave up front office duties the Seahawks were good and he left them in a big pile of crap when he left. Why oh why is he the savior? I say prove it before I jump on the he knows all band wagon.

What has he done to prove he is a great front office person? Coach yea, but front office person I will need to see it to believe it.

  • We'll keep one, and I think its DA. I have this feeling that Holmgren's "tough decision" is trading BQ. With that said,

DA can start in Carolina or Buffalo and he would be a good fit in either place.

Quinn has "St. Louis" written all over him. Maybe Oakland but outside of that, I'm not sure where else he could start.

Even though you are a massive hater, I agree with you on this. I'm not thrilled about Holmgren yet. I need to see a few decisions made so I can see what his plan is first.

cmac, what we have in Holmgren is what we've not had since the rebirth a "FOOTBALL" man

Mike's got a network of real football people at his disposal

The one thing he said in his teleconference that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up was

"I'm bringing in some real good football people"

That's what we've lacked from the beginning,we thought Carmen Policy knew his shit, turns out he was all BS

Dwight? Butch, not so much, Opie ? nah he ended up being everybody's bitch

Holmgrens' not the first to fail at GM/Coach duties,it's a tough gig

Mike Shanahan,Bill Cowher, were sucessfull coaches that couldn't do both

Mike Holmgren comes here with a deep rich history and a plethora of NFL knowledge and connections that spread throughout

    football ,not just the Seahawks

Mark it down! He will rewrite the History of The Cleveland Browns

  • I hope so. And since he is not splitting the duties he might very well be a very good front office person. I agree that it is difficult to do both. What I want to see is him make some good front office decisions. I am just saying I will let him prove it.

As far as the QBs, DA is too expensive for what he gives and BQ is not any good but he is affordable as a back up QB. DA is not any good and he is expensive as a back up.

I like DA but he has proven to be unproductive on a consistent basis. BQ has proven to be injury prone and inconsistent also. Neither QB was good this year but the few good games done buy the QB were done mainly by BQ.

I really like the way the defense played this year, far better than the stats give them credit for.

Great- give me one valid reason why the Browns will keep DA.
