Broncos fan, a Browns Mock Draft!!!
-
I dont know who the F%$K you think you are coming on here talking shit and telling us who we should draft. Just kidding, all in all Ilike the first pick. but everythings else is a bit off. We will be taking a QB in the 3rd round this year. Also I think the second round pick will be the best DB/safety left on the board.
Thanks for your input though.
-
i don't see us drafting any LBs. i hope tony pike is still around in the 3rd round.
-
Depending on what we do in FA, this could be a pretty decent draft.
The Browns need two new starting DB's: one corner and at least one safety. This draft doesn't really address that: I like Coleman, but he's not great back in coverage (he actually played LB this year). With this great safety class, I'd hope the Browns could scoop up someone better than him.
Jackson's one physical MoFo, but he'll go higher than that if he times well enough that teams think he can be an immediate contributor.
McClain's a possibility with that first pick, but I'd look for Joe Haden instead.
-
We could get a RT in free agency.
We have two other needs that weren't addressed enough. We will draft a QB but if the value isn't there for a WR we might not get one or go for a later round option as you showed.
Running back wasn't addressed but if they have faith Harrison will hold up and Davis can produce we might be ok there for one more season.
Other than getting a QB I wouldn't complain about that draft.
-
I think the Browns should take Berry if he is there at #7. That would be the perfect senerio I think. The chances of that happening are very slim. Another guy that I like if Berry isn't there is the safety from Texas Earl Thomas. I haven't heard much mentioning of him but he is a ball hawk. I think he could be just as good as Eric Berry. I also like McClain if he is there.
Whoever said we have too many linebacker is full of it. Especially since we are running th 3-4. You can't have enough linebacker as we found out this year.
-
thanks MileHigh24 for the post. I think I'd be happy with your draft selections as I see a need in nearly all areas you addressed. Unfortunately rookies don't contribute the first year historically, sure there are exceptions and 1st rounders do get playing time, but historically, its the 2nd and 3rd year that you see these rooks emerge. This is why I like your draft, your getting youth on the o-line, d-line and lb's which are going to be needed down the road.
I've never been a fan of drafting "skill" position players, those can be bought in free agency and with a possible uncapped year upon us, that money can be spent to bring in a "skill" player like Calvin Johnson or Aquian Boldin, or even Tom Brady. Build your core lines through the draft cause your "skill" players are never going to do much without lanes to run through.
-
Thanks....not a bad effort.
I do think Chris Scott will go before the 5th, but that's nit-picking.
Good job.

Hey!!! I am a big Broncos fan but wanted to try another teams mock draft so if you could give me your opinions that would be great.
I only have limited knowledge of the Browns but I think this would work out pretty well for you guys.
I thought I would have a go at another teams mock draft and here is one for the Browns.
1 - Rolando McClain - 6-4 - 258
They would love Eric Berry here but I don't think he drops to 7, the latest he goes is Seattle at 6. McClain can be a good leader and provide help against the run and improve the LB core where they need help in the middle.
2 - Arthur Jones - DE - Syracuse - 6-4 - 293
A good 3-4 DE who is a starter from day one on an ageing DL.
3 - Mike Johnson - OG - Alabama - 6-5 - 305
The OL needs help and Mike Johnson is good value here and another day one starter, I think Brady Quinn could be a good QB if the OL is built.
3 - Jacoby Ford - WR - Clemson - 5-9 - 182
A playmaker to play in the slot and compliment the 2 outside prospects in Massa. and Robiskie. A very good returner who can spell Cribbs at times or come in if he gets injured or goes (which I don't think he will).
4 - Harry Coleman - SS - LSU - 6-2 - 206
Good value here, Coleman has the potential to be a very good SS in the NFL.
5 - Brian Jackson - CB - Oklahoma - 6-1 - 200
Someone I quite like, is consistent, has size and strength and Sam Bradford thinks he could be a good NFL starting corner.
5 - Pat Angerer - ILB - Iowa - 6-1 - 235
Strong presence at ILB alongside McClain or to provide depth. He is very tough against the run and has good intangibles.
5 - Chris Scott - RT - Tennessee - 6-5 - 345
Another good value pick. A starter at LT for the Volunteers, did not allow a sack in over 700 pass attempts in all 12 games and helped the team average 170 yards a game on the ground. A little inconsistent but should be very good at RT. Very versatile and can play guard.
6 - Jeffrey Fitzgerald - DE - Kansas State - 6-4 - 280
A late round sleeper, has potential to play 3-4 DE. He had 40 tackles from the DE position, 10 went for losses, 7 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and recovering 2. He proved his atheticism by returning a pick for a TD.
6 - Brandon James - RB - Florida - 5-7 - 186
Brandon James and Percy Harvin tore it up for Florida last year, he is dynamic, can throw the ball well and a threat to take it to the house on any play, a good WildDawg option who is versatile. A dangerous returner.
7 - Marshall Newhouse - OG - TCU - 6-3 - 320
Good experience, invited to the combine and a member of the 2009 All Mountain West First Team.
Let me know what you think
Thanks

I think you have certainly identified some people that could fill areas of serious need for the Browns. Safeties, Corners, RT and RG and DE and maybe LB
-
I'll agree with Alo we'll take Hayden over a LB if he's there. McDonald tackles like a girl and blows too many assignments. Wright is a good #1 cb, he'd be a GREAT #2 guy.
Okung might be interesting if he's there @ 7, we need a RT- Pork Chop is getting up there, and StClair was a disaster at that position. As others have pointed out, we may well go FA shopping for O-line.
Also look for the Browns to pick up a developmental qb with one of the third round picks- Anderson is as good as gone in my book.
Other than that good insight milehigh.
