  • Let's wait for the fat lady to sing on this one. Nobody wants Brown to win more than I do but I just don't trust the voters and the arm twisters.

Let's see how the left media spins this if he does win!

  • I think this is fairly easy to understand, MOST people when it comes to fiscal responsibility believe that increasing debt while appearing to not really curb health care costs in any meaningful way to attempt fixing health care seems like a bad idea. Compounding that problem is that our bloated economic system is shedding jobs (lots of which will never come back) seems only to get worse.

The Wall street gang along with the right wing and other affiliated parties have done a bang up job on characterizing the health care overhaul. Whether thats fair or not is irrelevant.... popular opinion to the masses is a fickle thing.

Notice Wall street was boosted by this election today because of the insurance/pharm profits are directly related to the health care overhaul......

The unfortunate thing is that popular opinion runs counter to reality. We had to invest in ourselves and unfortunately with all of the lobbying money around Washington even this watered down version of reform is what is necessary.

Its not over until the trunks full of votes for Coakley are mysteriously discovered by an ACORN worker. Mickey Mouse and Tony Romo needs their votes too.....

  • the Fat lady sang...... in liberal democrat stronghold of Massachusetts......WOW. Can anyone spell of say Filibuster? A weak democratic candidate and negative attack adds combined with independents and some democrats uneasiness with debt expansion leads to a Republican winning.....

I dont think the healthcare bill is dead...... yet...... there are going to be a lot of moderate democrats running for the hills....

The "Health Care Bill" in its current form will not stem the rising costs of health care itself, it is merely just another tax on all and will hit the middle class and poor the hardest. One must ask why does all of the money get dumped into the general fund? Why is it you can be fined for not having HC? or imprisoned for not paying the fine? This is more BS from the left who have over spent their charge cards and cannot get another loan from China until they can back it with something.

IMO: The only thing I see is that the cost of HC will continue to rise and even more so with a mandate that everyone must be covered, while less people will be able to be treated effectively while having to sit around to wait on a government board to decide if they are allowed to pay for treatment or medicine.

When was the last time government ran a efficient business? Its not their business to be into the total control of everyones life.

Todays vote should be a bright and shining billboard to the administration to leave us alone! We dont want their socialized change.

Under the bus for Marsha eh Sev?

Odd, when I heard Obammy preach about her it sounded like she was Betsy fu*king Ross.

    🙄

Anyway health care may not be dead but lets hope the scullduggery of the hard left is cleaned out of the bill.

    Now at least that's possible.

  • Steve I actually think this will might push this bill further left. If the senate has to resort to reconciliation to pass the bill than they don't need 60 they need 51.... Which means Lieberman and others like him lose their leverage......

The house is far more liberal than the senate so this effect still is manageable there so probably does not affect their side... Anti trust exemption and the public option may actually have more of a chance now because of the makeup of the senate...

  • That's interesting, Sev,

but if it were true, the reactions and messages from other elections in 2010 and probably 2012 have a

far greater chance of being more a slap in the face of that leftist pushing so far beyond any "mandate" they

    could possibly claim...

    It could Sev.

I guess it will depend on how desperate the Dems are to force a bad bill on the voters who don't want it.

Remember this was Mass, not some midwestern swing state.
