QUINN OUT FOR SEASON!!!

  • I think and hope that DA will play well. I pray that the fans will stop booing BE on his first drop!! If that didn't kill his confidence for the whole texans game, it should have. If you are a fan, you will get up and cheer for your qb. Wish the guy well and encourage your team. I know they look like shit right now but booing them is not going to help any. Believe me, they know they stink right now. I am sure they are going to go out and try hard to salvage this season. Sure they won't make the playoffs but at least they can try and bury some of their turds. As far as Quinn... I agree, who the hell lets a guy play with a torn tendon?!! Maybe RAC did that to get him out for the season so he could finish with DA, I highly doubt it but hell, at this point I just don't know.

  • What's that I hear from the Savage home tonight?

    Wait, wait, listen...

"I told you we needed 2 quarterbacks!"

    you beat me to it.

  • there's a rumor that this is an injury that won't ever heal.

There will be no more quarterback controversy in Cleveland this season.

FOXSports.com has learned that Browns quarterback Brady Quinn is done for the year after doctors revealed that the break to his right index finger has gotten worse since he's tried to play through the injury.

Team sources said that Quinn and the team made the decision together earlier today. Sources say that not only has the break in his right index finger worsened, but it is also starting to injure the tendons as well.

Derek Anderson will return as starter. Quinn met with renowned doctor James Andrews and the Browns brought in specialists as well.

A team source said that all agreed that Quinn needed to shut it down before the tendons tore from the bone.

Maybe they won't kick us in the throat any more and they'll start Dorsey instead of DA.

  • Aside from the "could this get any worse"... where does this put our team? Do we continue to have a QB controversy for another off-season? Where is the future of our team? Will DA continue to be a Brown next year? Is BQ our QB in 09? Sorry, more questions than answers...was eagerly anticipating BQ establishing the fundamentals to be the QB we need for the future, because DA is nothing but limitations that we've seen far too often.

Also, does the resurgence of DA give Romeo carte blanche for another dismal season in 09?

    Starting to feel really hopeless...

  • I think DA will help answer this with his performance. Either he will play well, or he won't. If he doesn't I can't blame him fully. I have seen the guy play great as well as terrible. Is Dorsey someone he can learn from or not? I personally have never seen Dorsey do anything great. I have never blamed everything on DA. That aside, I have seen bad things from him and continue to see them. I have also seen great things. I think this is a coaching problem. I believe that if we let DA go, we'll have to watch him come back to Cleveland and kick ass and take names. That's if he gets a good coach and team. I am dissapointed that we won't get to see what BQ could do this year, and I seriously hope this isn't a career ending injury! Only a complete asshole would wish a career ending injury on ANYONE. That's terrrible. If you are wishing that, you are a poor excuse for a human being.

  • F*ck playing DA, been there, done that, no thanks, not again.

    Bring on Dorsey.

    DORSEY DORSEY DORSEY!

  • I agree...the season is over...see what the kid can do

we had already seen DA 25 times already to know he fuckin sucks....no thanx...

  • had this dog when i was a kid, didn't like to listen to me. i'd call him and call him and when he'd finally come back i'd let him have it. years later i was stoned in a field thinking "why the fuck would i ever come over to someone that hit me all the time?!?"

we browns fans under 40 have never had anything really nice that didn't dissolve in a year or less, no wonder we don't understand.

we'll never quit the suck and we can't have anything without breaking it. are we sadomasochists or what?

and why the demand of reciprocation, can't 12th men just reward noise?

we should get Bernie down on the 50 with a 12" cowbell and a firehat. is there a rule against cowbells now?

i overheard my neighbor the other day saying "hey, keep the good toys away from the Browns fan's kids, k?"

just kidding. my kids are in nebraska.

no really, i don't have any kids. 🥷

  • You are all the biggest whiners on the planet. Officially bigger whiners than the Bucknut fans. Get off the Brady Quinn bandwagon. Denver and Buffalo suck. He has proved nothing yet. I'm embarassed to be a Browns fan....

Edwards and Romeo screwed up DA. If you can't see that, you're a moron.

You're a Browns fan? That's funny, I could have swore you were a duechebag.

  • Who cares what Dorsey can do? He is the number 3 Qb and will be when DA gets traded in the off season. The Browns will pick up a veteran QB to back up BQ.

I agree that I hope it is not a career ending injury and have not heard that anywhere. Lum is probably just trying to make everybody freak out, I would ignore him unless he gives me a link to that story.

DA is and should be the starter with BQ out.

Big Red just looked at the schedule. That is a tough schedule, BQ might be lucky he does not have to face it.

Wins Philly and Cincy. I do not think DA will play horrible against these two teams. And I am going to go out on a limb and say that the Browns will beat the Steelers to end the season. Pittsburgh will be resting starters and it will make the Browns season to beat them.

That is my prediction 3 and 2 to end the season. 7 - 9 record. Not what is wanted but with the troubles the team has had and the difficult schedule I think that is what it will end up.

You might think I am crazy but that is my prediction.

  • This is horrible. What's next? Phil Dawson's feet falling off? I can't take much more.

Well, on the bright side ....Quinn absolutely looked like a star at QB until Fraley stepped aside and played Ole' several times in the first quarter of the Buffalo game and almost got Quinns finger ripped off. SO providing that his finger heals 100%, I think we have something special. *sigh*

  • From James Walker's ESPN article:

"Quinn thought he only bruised his hand last week but complained of soreness following practice on Wednesday. Tests revealed a small fracture on the tip of his finger and Quinn was examined at the Cleveland Clinic by a specialist, who cleared the former Notre Dame star to make his third career start Sunday."

Good ol' Cleveland Clinic. Always there for us. Always on our side.

he has one here...i hope the kid stays. i've said it before he'd make a hell of a #2 if he could endure it.

and again, just to reiterate my stance, the 5M bonus and 4.9+M cap hit is a wash, so if no one offers anything attractive for DA he's a pretty good buy for 1.45 mil.

with 24 or so starts (plus preseasons) a pro bowl, 2 yrs in the system......that is, if Chud is still around. you're gonna pay that + for a vet. everything changes if the regime goes, though.

and you fortune tellers predicting what a coach might give for DA 11 games into the season, got any good stock tips? i could use a good one. let's hope someone's really desperate and it's a SUPER GOOD christmas. i want a QB who leaves no doubt, and it's none of these guys.

    none of em.

  • I hereby start the "Start Cribbs at QB or RB the rest of the season" petition. He'd excel at RB, and I wouldn't mind seeing what he's got at QB ...maybe he can become our 3rd stringer for next season.

Maybe cincinnati but that's it. No way there going 7-9 and I never said BQ would do better in those games. They will be lucky to pull one win the way DA has looked the last 2 games againist cincinnati.

  • Just commenting.

Something strange about all of this. We go from a non injury to a season ending injury.

This now means we have to keep DA through next season. No way can we entertain getting rid of him and throwing everything in Quinn court on 2 marginal starts...not to mention a injury that who knows how thats going to turn out...maybe the guy is going to be one of those injury prone qbs.

I am not saying that to knock him.....but you know they type....there is always something wrong with them.

  • People asking for Dorsey obviously have never seen him play. He is not a good QB. He needs to be a coach of QB's, not a QB.

DA is not good enough to play himself into trade value. Also, yes we're getting rid of DA. This team cannot shell out the $$$ for both of them, and I am pretty sure Quinn will give the Browns the big fook off if they try to sit him. DA will do the same.

Any fan of DA who thinks he can win - well, when is that going to happen? When the fook is this guy going to sack up and win? And I am not talking about Miami, Seattle and Cincy last year, either.
