For the record, Sev, George W. Bush is no longer the President of the United States.

Obama keeps trying to whip that dead horse and, the articles I've read, have said that people are tired of him passing the blame for much of the ship we deal with on a daily basis.

cal it is a matter of public record of the multiple commanding generals asking for much higher troop levels for Iraq's occupation..... their was NEVER a question if we could dismantle what remained of their military and infrastructure is was the securing of the country.......

ANYONE who has even read minor history on Afghanistan KNEW it was never going to be trouble to dismantle a segregated village/valley tribal POOR country.... it was ALWAYS going to be in containing and chasing them into the SAME MOUNTAINS they hid in against the Russians...... NUCLEAR MUSLIM Pakistan was always going to be an issue.

As for Nuclear plants.... IF we truly want to find a way from burning coal with the amount of demand that requires stable power generation.. well right now nuclear is an option... It not necessarily the best but it is there. I would rather do other things but realistic compromise is well logical.

Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld were NOTORIOUS for doing everything from intelligence/law/was their way regardless of advisment..... get over it it is a well established fact and they led us into the economic ground as well as miring us for YEARS into EXPENSIVE reconstruction and stabilization of two different countries at the same time over a CRIMINAL act.

wow that interesting because the two occupations and nation building are decisions from that group...... The medicaid entitlement expansion also signed in from that group.... so are the spending requireents and the lowered taxes pssst you know lower tax income and higher budget requirements........ also from that group..... wait I almost forgot the MASSIVE recession you know LOWER tax income AND higher unemployment/massive layoffs and company shutdowns plus downsizing........ you know lower tax income on top of higher budget demands..... remember those budget surpluses.......

So while your side is whining about the "federal defecit" they just gloss over that in one year NO one can turn around that kind of total damage.......... that they of course led in causing in the first place.

So I like beating a dead horse analogy even though they caused the illness to kill the dead horse in the first place and now are blaming the fact that the treatment has a cost is a problem.....makes sense.

I see you create lower tax revenues from multiple tax cuts and increase overall spending from a medicare entitlement expansion WHILE waging 2 occupations and nation building..... than the MASSIVE risk led from the SAME deregulation you led and signed on to(because of party ideology) CRASHES and the entire Banking/Insurance/Securities industry falls on its face because of unchecked high risk strategies because they were free to do whatever they wanted causes a near depression recession...... you know causing layoffs/closings/bankruptcies........

Oh I see that horse must be able to be solved in 12 months...... and the new admin is to blame for doing anything to fix this mess..... regulation and oversight so the economic system is not unchecked and does this again is some socialist move....... wait and our obvious monopolized most expensive healthcare in the world (the california rate hike example is the best) can do whatever it wants while millions are uninsured is of course socialist/communist agenda........

Yes its beating a dead horse....more like its reminding your side who is screaming the loudest and at major fault for causing the situation in the first place of the cause and the fact the correction cant be fixed in 12 months. Your side is using this as political fodder to try to get back into power........ not trying to fix anything just merely saying no and pointing out that the obvious defecits and investing into ourselves which is the ONLY way we can move forward is the problem...

The more I think about it the more I laugh at it really...... its like some nutritionist who tells a client to eat all grease and fat that no one should tell them what is healthy because thats too much control..... yet they are paid to help them..... and than the client has a heart attack from weighing 400 pounds and that nutritionist is fired and the new one has to tell the fat slob he needs to exercise and eat healthy the old one is screaming about the new one trying to control to much and the pain from exercising and eating healthy is not necessary.... while screaming the client in 1 week should have already lost all the excess weight and be in shape regardless of the fact they ate like crap for 8 years...... makes sense i suppose.....

Exactly. It's not beating a dead horse. It's correcting people who think the budget situation is all Obama's fault, and say so every day.

The budget problems are largely caused by the recession and by Bush administration policies. Obama's additional spending pales in comparison.

That's the reality. But do you hear that in here? From the right-wing press? Is it even known on the right? Of course not.

But you know who is to blame? The people who point out the truth! They should stop doing that!

All I am saying, Heck, is that the Polls show that Obama has milked virtually all of the Bush bashing. People are tired of excuses and are looking for leaders to - well - LEAD. Sooner or later, he has to be held accountable for his own actions and needs to stop acting like a petulant child by blaming his predecessor for his own shortcomings.

BTW, I am no 'rank and file' anything but it killed me to death to see Bush pith all that money away.

If things keep going like they are, it is POSSIBLE that history will consider him to be the Black Jimmy Carter.

It's beating the public conciousness to a pulp with infinite rephrasing of the same old tired

              marxist/progressive lies.

The current amount of skyrocketing deficit was only started by Bush and reps and dems in Congress.

That isn't good, but after 9/11, we could live with it.

Obamao has outragiously surpassed, even quadrupled in projection this deficit.

Why whine about Bush, and say it's okay for Obamao?

If the deficit were about the same you might have a valid point. but it's not.

it is so out of control, we are tentativley doomed as far as our economy goes.

              It's like:

"Bush lied about a birthday cake when he was a kid, so Obamao lied about taxes and being a marxist and bring all Americans together...

hell he lied about almost everything to get elected...so it's okay because Bush lied about a birthday cake when he was a kid".

I thought this was supposed to be a serious converstation. What's funny is, to deny that Obamao is really screwing up the works, is laughable.

This is bs.... The republicans have had a long standing strategy of "starving the beast" meaning creating situations that lead to deficits to influence voters to shrink the government size.......

this is just another PR public piece.... Seriously shut up about Marxism crap....... so tell me o conservative group........ which of these massively popular public programs would you cut....

Medicare/Medicaid, Social security, VA, Fannie mae, Freddie Mac and their like programs like Sallie and Ginnae mae, wait how about unemployment benefits........ better yet how much military spending would you cut...........

Wait I cant wait to hear about cutting the SEC....... or the FDIC........... better yet lets do away with the federal reserve....... funny really..... lets roll back federal college education grants also.......

I would love to hear about deregulation of the Banks and lets roll back consumer protection agencies............ who needs the NSA and the CIA or even the FBI..........

amazing really you NEVER hear about these programs which make up the bulk of government spending.......... The SBA needs to be shut down also or cut way back..... Lets shrink the Federal Bankruptcy system also lets see how that goes.....

Those anti trust regulations....... yes also shrink down the FTC.....who needs anyone to oversee the airlines..... they dont need maintenence guidelines.... just get on the plane and the airports can do whatever they want...

Go ahead and pick something and than tell us about fiscal responsibility in the face of increased spending and decreased revenues.... tell us about the defecit... really than that means higher taxes go out and propose what taxes to increase and than tell us what programs you want cuts on or to shut down.

You know what you WONT hear..... none of that because the party of NO has nothing but PR and BS rhetoric at this point. Keep up Starving the Beast tactics and keep moving to lower taxes and deregulation along hows is that working out...... than you can scream from the bench about the BS you caused in the first place.

Seriously...... "conservative" sure put up or shut up..... guess what your party and ideology of deregulation already failed.

You're ramabling incoherently, I think, Sev.

I wouldn't have spent the two stimuluses. I wouldn't have done the automaker bailout.

I would never give money to ACORN. I wouldn't try to enact a cap n trade where even Obama admitted

that energy costs would "necessarily skyrocket".

I wouldn't give billions of dollars right and left that creates NO JOBS, does not STIMULATE the economy,

and simply rewards those whose support Obama has had and needs in the future.

I would quit the worthless, and I do mean WORTHLESS United Nations because we stupidly support most of it,

and it does not do anything to create peace, it's corrupt, it's a joke and they keep wanting us to apologize for being

free and wealthy as a country.

They are CORRUPT. Not one more million to the UN. Stop all funding now WE NEED the money to pay OUR BILLS that Bush and WORSE Obamao rang up.

I would fire all the commie/Marxist.socilaist/progressive/unConstitutional csars.

I would throw Soros in the pokey, and put a freeze on all his assets.

I would DRILL BABY DRILL and stop buying foreign oil.

I would cut Democrat AND Republican money candy for their states out completely.

I would take back Pelosi's two big jets, and give her a walking stick and tell her to shut the hell up and take a freakin hike if she wants to go somewhere.

I would cancel any "commision" that Obama or Congress authroized.

I would shut down the trillions of bucks we have been giving away to nations around the world who don't have no desire for peace,

                  and are anti-Semitic.

I would go to a fair flat tax that doesn't unfairly burden anyone, and that flat tax would be lower than what Americans are paying now.

I would hammer out strict non-political controls on Freddie and Fanny, and put Conservatives in charge of both.

I would cut out most investment in green technology. Right now, a $500 solar panel will give off enough electricity to power ONE FREAKIN 60 WATT

LIGHT BULB. We don't have the money to gamble on what may turn out, or what won't.

Let the private sector do their R&D, stop trying to use government to replace that. It costs a hell of a lot more.

Then let me see the freakin federal budget, and I'll have more later.

There is thousand times less waste produced per KW-H of energy by nuclear power than by coal-powered plants.

True, but the processing of the waste is so costly, there's a limit of what we can handle.

I personally like nuclear energy, until the plant accidently gives off radiation. Many years ago,

I was working for a summer delivering these stupid homes magazines while in college... and

was driving past the N. Ohio nuclear plant, when my pickup truck started doing a tiny little flamenco

                      dance on the highway.

Very much like the old, old football game where the vibrations move the little silly players after you set em up?

                      Then it quit.

It was an earthquake. that kinda worries me about nuclear plants... but coal is cheap, provides about 2/3 of our electricity,

and there is no immediate cost effective replacement. But when there is, I'm good with that. But those coal mine workers

are going to have a hard time.

So when did spending Billions or Trillions on pork become an american investment?

I see a lot of waste going on from the stimulus bill.

Just wait until they pass the largest Pork Bill ever that will be disguised as a health care reform bill. That maybe when the shit hits the fan.

Obama flat-out lied to residents of Florida regarding the future of NASA. I don't appreciate blatant lies in an attempt to get votes. He was not even creative about it.
