He's a pussy because he flaps his mouth off to people about how bad he is yet never proves it, never steps up. My whole point is if you're so bad and think you can/should beat some dudes ass? GO DO IT. Don't stand around, no doubt surrounded by bouncers(or teammates when he pulls this shit on the field) talking shit.

You think that a professional athlete, making more money than most people could ever imagine making, should go out and compromise his career in order to prove he's not a pussy? Give me a break. You're damning a guy from walking away from a situation. Your inner frat boy is showing. Life is not a pissing contest, it's about making sure you keep your ass out of trouble, while having a good time.

As an aside, I doubt you'd even blink an eye in the direction of someone his size.

It's called professional restraint. Something a lot of Steeler fans wish one of our face of the franchise employed more often. I'm sure if push came to shove and then guy got physical he'd react. Let's say he does put his fist through the guys face, then what? Oh He's getting suspended by the NFL. Funny how so many have been chastising Big Ben for his actions but when Jared Allen chooses to walk away after some choice words he's a pussy. lol make up your mind.

Should Allen be suspended for bringing the league bad publicity? Even if no criminal charges are filed. Even if some random drunk started it all?... I don't think he should, but it seems clear Ben will be recieving a suspension as punishment. Goodell has no choice but to suspend Allen or face losing his credibility by being a hypocrite.

The Colts DT Eric Foster is facing a civil lawsuit. The accuser claims he raped her in his hotel room bathroom before the this year's AFC Championship game. What kind, if any, punishment will he face?

This could be starting off a string of sexual assult charges against a whole bunch of NFL players. If Goodell suspends Ben, he has to be careful. Him being inconsistant or hypocritical on punishments will harm the league more than false, civil or accusations where no charges are filed against players. The cases against players that go nowhere will harm the league's repuation among non-NFL followers even if the players are suspended without committing a crime. Inconsistant punishments for players who are innocent of all criminal activity will hurt the leagues rep with the people who actually watch the sport, the people who actually matter.

What "standards" are NFL players held to? They must be more than innocent? Goodell needs to stop babysitting players and let the legal system handle criminal matters....If a player breaks a league rule he should be punished accordingly..If a player is warned about his behavior, but ignores Goodell's warning, then he should be punished accordingly.

I'm following Goodell's logic. Most likely he is a democrat. But honestly, how many times do I have to tell people here Ben's punishment has NOTHING to do with the rape allegation?

  • I'm not familiar with Jared Allen's on the field antics. Care to elaborate?

You don't think he should fight, but if he doesn't prove to you in some street fight that he is a bad moxxxx fxxxxr then he is a pussy?

I just don't see how beating the hell out of some Joe Schmo in a bar is going to have any correlation with him talking smack on the field. He chose to let it end there, and he left. That shows good judgment in my opinion. Why would he want to have to grease back the mullet and read a speech someone else prepared for him... oh wait.

To try to say that he is insecure, and therefore, a pussy, has no basis in logic, fact, or reason.

I don't get what point you're trying to make. He's a pussy because he won't whip someones ass? A' la Braylon Edwards. Or is it that he's a pussy because he talks shit on the field and then doesn't whip a strangers ass? Because he sure whips ass on the football field. Or is it that he walked away from a situation that could have put his season in jeopardy, and as a result the outcome for the team in jeopardy, that in fact makes him an insecure pussy? Better to pull out a weapon and whip an ass or two.

    Give me a break.

6'6 270 pounds. You must be pretty bad. Way more of a bad ass than someone that doesn't get into bar fights with strangers.

I'll call up my boys and see if you wanna say somethin 'brah. Kappa Sigma Alpha fo' life.

  • To call Allen all talk and no action is ignorant. Why give the give that ignorant person the pleasure of having him sue and get money. On another note why the hell are there so many steelers fans in a browns board???? I dont care what excuse you steelers fans come up with it still is not valid. You would never catch this guy on a steelers forum , never ever ever. Go back to your forum and leave ours alone.

  • Are people in here seriously debating whether or not jared allen is a badass?! Have you ever seen him?? He's a beast on the field and off the field just not dumb enough to goto jail over some drunk idiot that he could murder with his bare hands. I'm also pretty sure I've seen him get 2 safeties in one game

You sound like some small town Georgia girl just experienced your fantasy and your mad she didn't enjoy it as much as you would!

Same B.S. as at the bar. Pointing at people and screaming about beating their asses while his teammates "hold him back." Hell in the playoffs he acting like he wanted to step with Keith Brooking from a safe distance.

I've explained it a dozen times now. I'm not explaining it yet again, because you refuse to get it and continue claiming I am saying something i'm not. Or is it that liberal college Edumacation not working out for ya?

He proves it as fact regularly.

Ohhhhh scary. Well, for those who put stock in size and think because someones 6'6 they're instantly an unbeatable badass. How'd that size work for 6'6", 400lb ex NFL OT Bob Sapp when puny 5'9", 190lb Minowa beat his ass?

Hey, 'least i'm not flailing my mullet around telling people i'm gonna kick their ass constantly, yet NEVER doing it like a certain 6'6" monster. πŸ™„

My names not Jared Allen, I don't go around "saying something."

Do you happen to "fight MMA" by chance? Just curious. I do not.

Minowa put him in an ankle lock, not really an ass beating, and certainly not a "real" fight situation. But he did "beat his ass" by MMA standards I suppose.

I also forgot about how rare it is for players to get into it on the field and have to be separated. I'm sure a case could be made for a lot of players that don't "back it up" and should be labeled pussies accordingly.

Are you honestly trying to say that you would consider Allen more of a man if he had put that drunk into a coma? What would that have proven? Unbeatable badass because he is 6'6"? Now I wouldn't say that. But a professionally conditioned pro athlete who gets paid quite well to throw around people vs. a drunk fueled by Budweiser armed with a vast vocabulary of insults. That would prove his manhood as much as us debating this on the internet.

To me, walking away proved he is not an idiot like a large amount of these athletes.

You think it makes him look like a pussy.

Neither of us is going to sway the opinion of the other.

The draft is a little over a day away.

obviously you don't have a sense of humour. don't waste my time. douche.

  • Here's a scenario.

Say you're a professional MMA fighter, and you're a few months away from a big fight that you're getting paid a lot of money to compete in. Dana White has made it a point to make sure to enforce his personal conduct rules and you could stand to lose a lot for a flair up. Some jackass calls your girlfriend the C word in a bar.

    How do you react?

Do you walk away without saying anything? Do you put his ass in a coma? Or do you walk away while yelling at him?

Remember, proving your manhood here would mean that you jeopardize your future. Is it worth it? I don't think you or I are doubting that Allen, like the person in your example, would be best off by going over there, confronting them calmly, and then telling them to leave. But Allen is a hot head, right or wrong. I guess I can agree that what he did isn't the way that you should act. Can I understand his actions? Absolutely. Does that make him out to be like the five and a half foot bad ass fueled by liquid courage that you see in every bar? I don't think so. I think we are both kind of saying the same thing. He should have handled it much more calmly and not threatened someone as he was leaving. For all we know he may have tried to fight the guy inside the bar but someone with him got his ass out of there before he got in trouble. I was under the impression that Jared Allen had been oversees to see the soldiers and was a big part of some charity. Does yelling at someone instead of whipping their ass make you a pussy? Not when you stand to lose so much from it.

That's just my opinion. Sure, he acted like a jackass. If he's going to tell everyone how bad he is he should just prove it. I'm sensing some over-exaggeration in your posts, though. I know he got into on the ticker with that Oher kid, but I can't think of any other "newsworthy" incidents.

I think that considering the position that he is in, he made a good decision, but followed it up by looking like a jackass.

  • Junkyard your the pussy bro. Talking shit on a message board about a dude that could punk you with one hand behind his back. Also Keith Brooking was the one talking shit and once again, Jared Allen would easily kill that dude. Now get off Allen's nuts nobody cares that you think your tough

  • So, more or less, you're saying he's a dumb shit for saying that he would whip the guys ass and then not doing it. He did it just to save face. But it would not be smart for him to actually whip the guys ass. Therefore, he made a wise decision to not fight the guy, but instead looked like a jack ass by acting like he was going to when everyone knows at the point of the video they have that it was not going to happen.

I believe we are in nearly the same school of thought. You think he's a punk for not actually fighting the guy. I think he was being financially responsible for not fighting the guy. I don't believe that Allen is in any way a pussy, backed down, or was afraid to put the worst hurting possible on the guy. You think he's a pussy for not leaving him hooked up to a breathing tube. But we both agree it was unnecessary and stupid.

I think he's a hot head that just had to have the last word. You think he's trying to cover up insecurities.

Bottom line, on at least this occasion he was a loud mouth and couldn't control his temper. But he did manage to keep from getting himself into trouble (so far). I think that part of it is smart. He has absolutely nothing to prove in a bar. Your opinion is just as valid as mine, but our voices mean nothing. But absolutely nothing good could come out of him destroying the guy. If the worst thing he does from this point on is yell at someone then I wouldn't mind having him on the Browns.

About your hang up, yeah, if you're not going to do it you shouldn't say that you are going to. My point is there is no doubt he wanted to, but like you said, he was trying to save face after making the decision to make the responsible choice.

BTW, the reason I asked if you fought MMA is because a lot of the cock suckers that I have met associated with that are complete pieces of shit that believe they are tough because they get into some back woods boxing ring and roll around with fat asses for 3 3 minute rounds. I appreciate your input and point of view. I completely understand where you are coming from, even if I don't agree with it 100 percent.

Jared Allen's situation basically amounts to drunks yelling at each other at a bar. Ben's situation involves two drunks of opposite sex in a locked bathroom, where one claimed to have been sexually attacked.

    Again, I said CLAIMED

Please don't try to compare these situations.

Ben's not being punished for a claim. Ben is also not being punished for potentially engaging in sexual activity with an of aged woman. Ben is being punished for getting drunk and causing problems at a bar. (problems completely unrelated to the rape charge and that woman in general)

Allen got drunk and caused trouble at a bar. It has brought bad publicity to the league. Goodell wants players to be held to a "higher standard" - I think that would include threating to injury/kill other people. Him using the word "homeboy" should be an automaticle $5,000 fine.... πŸ˜† But in all seriousness, why shouldn't he face similiar punishment to Ben?

    oh bullshit

The only reason BR is not getting prosectured is that he got the victim black out drunk and can play the he said, she sai.d A District Attorney does not call someone a reprehensible turd if its a case of gold digger.

That is why BR is not fighting this. In fact, every morning he wakes up and is suprised that he's not in some pound me in the ass prison. (other than pittsburg, that is)
