  • Who would your choice be?

Personally I would pick Coles. Inevitably, we are getting one this year.

Let me know if I left out any UFA WRs.

  • The only drawback I see about some veterans is that they want to win a super bowl. This might make them avoid the Browns, and I don't blame them. I voted for Muhsin Muhammad, because he has history with Delhomme and I always have seen him as a classy high character guy, who will give everything every down.

TO: not a chance. He wants a ring more than any of them and after his season in Buffalo I think he's looking for a winner. But much to his disappointment I'm not sure if any would want him. To be honest I think maybe the Steelers or Bengals might take a chance on him.

Javon Walker: He had the robbery incident a few years back, so I would be surprised if we leaned toward him. He too could be looking for a contender

Laveraneus Coles: He would be my second choice. He never really played for a decent team, until last year when he was with the Bengals. But I don't really think he's had a good season since 05 or 06 back when he was with the Jets.

Truthfully I trust our staff to pick up the best wide receiver out there and we know it would be a character guy who plays hard. We just need someone to take the pressure off 11 & 16 because they can't be our only two receivers. Bringing in a Vet cannot hurt us and he would bring the leadership that that position needs and help mentor the young guys...

I agree with a few of your comments. First of all i dont see us getting TO any time soon since we are not a SB team yet. I would have to agree on bringing in a old veteran like Muhammad though. He is washed up and will only take playing time from our youngsters that need to develop. I could see us taking a chance with Curtis, Coles or Walker seeing as they should still have a few years with the team. I also wouldnt be suprised to see a trade to get a solid veteran reciever since we have some RFA trade bait.

And on another note Javon Walker was robbed and didnt rob anybody so how would that make us not want him?

  • Im in line with heckert on TO...he isnt really a good fit for the browns in more than one way, muhammad, coles ,curtis or walker would be ok..but i really want to see this club return to a state of providing its own in house hand drafted talent which of course takes time and we browns fans are not patient after 10 years of losing and abysmal regime after abysmal regime...

At this point i am fully with this regime and their decisions at every position..lets just hope they get it right..

Not an attractive list. Javon Walker is a guy with talent, but injuries and off-the-field stuff has stifled his career ... still he has th emost intrigue for me on that list of past-their-primes and never-had-a-prime.

There should be more salary-related cuts coming, maybe a more reliable vet will wash up.

Problem with Walker is, I think he lost his will and/or heart entirely after the shooting incident with that CB that was his best friend that essentially bled out in his lap.

  • Muhsin Muhammad is definitely the most attractive out of this list. Javon Walker is also very solid and I wouldn't mind seeing him on our team. He was a good target for Brett Favre during his time there. You really have to scratch the 2 years in Oakland, as one of them was hurt, and the other one he was in Oakland 😛.

I'd be surprised if we got any of these guys, but I'll be surprised also if we don't get /someone/ this year to help out.

Oh man my mistake, when I heard he was involved in a robbery I guess I just assumed he was the one doing the robbing. Thanks to wikipedia I was able to read all about it. My bad I wouldn't mind picking him up now! I guess nowadays I'm so used to players getting arrested (*cough* steelers *cough*) I'm not used to hearing about players being on the other side of an incident!

No I think Holmgren was in Green Bay until 1998, and Walker wasn't drafted until 2002
