Here are the answers to the Stadium Trivia:

    1. Name the 3 stadiums the Packers have played their home games in since 1933.

City Stadium in downtown Green Bay where they played until 1957 when they moved to Lambeau Field outside of town. The third was Milwaukee County Stadium where they would play 3 home games a year for many years.

    2. What NFL team once played in "Monster Park"?

Candlestick Park where the 49ers play was Monster Park for a year or two.

    3. What was the very first stadium the Bengals called home?

Nippert Stadium on the UC campus is correct.

    4. What football team plays on a field known as the "Smurf Turf"?

    Boise State

    5. What NFL playing field is the longest continuously used playing surface in the NFL?

That would be the field the Cleveland Browns are using. Though they built a new stadium up around it, the field is the exact same location as the field in Muni Stadium. You could say in essence that it has been in use in the NFL since 1937 when the Rams first started play there. Then came the Browns in the AAFC and eventually the NFL.

Second on this list would be Lambeau Field.

    6. What stadium was the first outside the US that a regular season NFL game was played?

Estadio Azteca in Mexico City hosted the first non US regular season game between the home team Arizona Cardinals and the visiting Dallas Cowboys in about 1997.

    7. From 1955 to 1967 what two major league baseball teams played in structures known as "Municipal Stadium". (One should certainly be a gimme)

The Cleveland Indians and the Kansas City As. Kansas City Municipal Stadium was used by the As until they moved to Oakland. And, if I recall, that stadium was a much worse stadium than even our Muni stadium for baseball.

    8. Which of the following was the actual name of a MLB stadium: A. Gross Field B. Sick Stadium

    C. Poor Stadium D. Wobbly Field E. Weak Stadium

Sick Stadium was the name of the field the Seattle Mariners nka Milwaukee Brewers played in in their one year in that town.

    9. What team played their first games in Chavez Ravine?

The Angels is correct. Recall that the Dodgers played their first couple of seasons in the LA Coliseum. When the Angels expansion team came about they shared the new Dodger stadium for a couple of years. When the Dodgers played their it was called "Dodger Stadium" but when the Angels played there it was referred to as Chavez Ravine.

    10. Where do the Wisconsin Badgers play their home games?

    Camp Randall Stadium is correct

    11. Since 2008 the NHL has played their outdoor Winter Classic in Stadiums on New Year's Day. Name the three stadiums these events have been held in.

Wrigley, Fenway and Ralph Wilson Stadium. The site for next year's event is TBD, but I understand the New Yankee Stadium and Heinz Field are under consideration.

    12. What Stadium holds the MLB record for most home attendance?

The old Mile High Stadium where the Rockies first played saw a record 4,483,550 fans cross the turnstiles in 1993 for an average game attendance of 55,350. The next 4 highest season attendance figures are held by Yankee stadium, new and old, all since the mid 90s.

Tricky question. One would presume "continuously used" to have been in play every year, that playing surface was out of commission from 1996-1998.[/color]

      They were the Seattle Pilots.

      Zombo

Yes, Pilots, that is what I meant.

On the "continuously used" that same field has been in continuous use for any time period that that team played. The fact that it may have been used by an AAFC team, or been inactive for a few years, it is still the same field that has been used for all that time.

ill have to disagree, continuously used means used... continuously. i wish we could give that honor to the browns but not using it for three years means it wasnt being used continuously

        con·tin·u·ous (kn-tny-s)

        adj.

        1. Uninterrupted in time, sequence, substance, or extent.

Like has Oakland-Alameda County Colliseum been continuously used since 1966 because its been used for every year that the Oakland Raiders have existed since 66?

just forget the 15 years of not being used because the Oakland Raiders didnt exist?

I disagree with you: It was uninterrupted in time sequence and extent as long as a team was firleded. It is not like the Browns went somewhere else to play their home games. It has been in continuous use by this franchise as long as this franchise has played.

But that franchise went and played somewhere else for years.

I didn't mean the question to be all that literal necessarily. It really meant "longest used" field.

E.g. go back to 1937 or to 1950 and determine what fields were in use in the NFL and which are in use today.

The only other one that might have a claim is Soldier field which has been in existance since 1924, however, after research I learn that Soldier Field did not become the Bears home until 1971. They played at Wrigley before that.

Something else I have learned is that we can only go back to the 1946 season (or 1950 if you only want to count NFL time) with the current field. While the Rams played at Muni from 1937-1941, in 1942-1945 they played at League Park, not Muni.
