The total cost is a whopping $ 338.3 BILLION DOLLARS A YEAR AND IF YOU'RE LIKE ME HAVING TROUBLE UNDERSTANDING THIS AMOUNT OF MONEY; IT IS $338,300,000,000.00 WHICH WOULD BE ENOUGH TO STIMULATE THE ECONOMY FOR THE CITIZENS OF THIS COUNTRY.
Are we THAT stupid? YES, FOR LETTING THOSE IN THE U.S.CONGRESS GET AWAY WITH LETTING THIS HAPPEN YEAR AFTER YEAR!!!!!
If this doesn't bother you then just delete the message. If, on the other hand, it does raise the hair on the back of your neck, I hope you forward it to every legal resident in the United States AND PLEASE REMEMBER IT AT THE NEXT ELECTIONS!!!

I knew that one was coming!
Heck do you know what the actual figures are?
WSS
You're saying it's not warranted? I really don't think you're the best judge of this. You wouldn't know racism if it bit you on the ass.
Again, apply the public test. This guy likens illegal immigrants to cockroaches and says it's time to bring in the exterminator.
It'd be the most racist and embarrassing public statement in years. He'd never hold a public job again.
It's okay in here, though. Let the dehumanization continue. Throw in some "jokes" about shooting them with 50 caliber machine guns while you're at it. You're all wonderful Christian people.
Oh, and I love where you create the "heads, I win/tails you lose" situations, where you can't even point out clear examples of racism, because that would be just like someone who points out racism. Or something. But you guys on the right were doing just fine with the other one, where you back policies that blow a hole in the budget, and then when someone points out that those policies blew a hole in the budget you say, "Stop blaming Bush! Quit looking backwards!"
It's a fun game to play. Completely dishonest and juvenile, but I'm glad you're enjoying it.
You're saying it's not warranted? I really don't think you're the best judge of this. You wouldn't know racism if it bit you on the ass.
Sure I do Heck.
It's when you use race as an excuse for nearly every political gripe you have.
Targeting voting blocs by race.
Making one race or another exempt frm some of the rules.
That stuff.
Or just calling everybody you don't like a racist.
Makes fellows like you think they look superior.
But you didn't answer my question.
I only asked you what the actual rate was since you seemed to know.
But feel free to bite me on the ass..........

>>What we do know is that illegals commit crimes at a lower rate than regular American citizens do. >>
I'm not disputing this - or not - Heck but what is the source of this data?
Of course the illegal alien problem goes well beyond crime to services provided, etc.
I know all illegals are not bad people - I have come across more than one very nice and hard working illegals - they would love to become citizens but, for one reason or another, cannot at this time.
What worries me the most, however, is 'blanket' amnesty - the type built into the failed Comprehensive program developed by Kennedy and McCain. That called for decision making on individuals within 24 hours. Absolutely crazy and dangerous.
But I am curious about crime rates - and how it breaks down by type of crime.

There are multiple studies done on immigration and crime rates by a bunch of different organizations, plus the government does some. It's difficult to come to conclusions some times because the data is tough to assemble. People aren't part of the system, so they're harder to track. But you can look at incarceration rates. You can look at crime statistics. None of it supports the idea that illegal aliens commit crimes at a higher rate than American citizens do.
There was one study by an anti-immigration group that put the figure at 2,158 murders a year. That's not murders of American citizens. That's total murders committed. But it's entirely flawed. All the guy did was look at the murder rates in the home countries, then apply it to how many of those people were here. So it's a laughable statistic. And even that is about half of the statistic T would have you believe. And he wants you to think it's not just more than double this bullshit figure, but that it's more than double this just for murders against American citizens.
Always beware of someone who will point you to how much illegal immigration costs the country, or states and cities, but who never acknowledge the benefits.
There are costs. There are benefits. When they add them all up, illegal immigration is a net benefit to the economy/taxpayers.
But you never hear that.
Now, that doesn't mean we shouldn't create a more sensible immigration system. The one we have is a mess. But we should probably know what we're talking about first, and try to discount the large portion of these gripes that stem from nativism more than anything.
-
>>Now, that doesn't mean we shouldn't create a more sensible immigration system. The one we have is a mess. ..........>>
Agreed.
In the meantime we need to attack the demand and the supply. If demand were to decrease, so would the supply.
The Republicans like the demand side - cheap labor - and the Dems like the supply side - potential votes and an increase in programs.
US citizens get squeezed in the meantime.

Gosh. I thought lib goofs DEMANDED links to CREDITIABLE SOURCES

The last time I called you on this, you posted a long list
of links that didn't pertain to your posturing at hand at the time.

Are you trying to spin the argument into race heck?
I suppose that you cannot discredit the fact that they are called Illegal Aliens because they have broken the law?
Shall we also pull up the definition of Illegal?
C'mon, have a hand at the fact?

Do Dems want more Latinos in the country? That might be an interesting topic. Also the reasons why or why not.
-
I'd put it a different way: I don't think most Democrats care if the people who become citizens are Latino or Asian or European or something else.
I don't know anyone who has a special affinity for Latino people. The fact that the American Latino population is growing has more to do with immigration and birth rates.
I would say that they also have an interest in seeing that immigrant labor isn't exploited more than it already is.

Sorry bro, 100% wrong (unless I lost something is translation, lol). Whole campaign strategies are based around the Latino vote.
"At one time, I think Hispanics were viewed by the people who were running campaigns as a little bit of a distraction, a little bit of a nuisance," says Jose Villarreal, a San Antonio lawyer and Clinton supporter who was a top adviser to Democrats Al Gore in 2000 and John Kerry in 2004. "Now the community is like an IPO. Everybody wants to invest in it."
And
Florida Sen. Mel Martinez, general chairman of the Republican National Committee, says there is time for the eventual GOP nominee to recover among Hispanic voters next year — and that doing so is becoming increasingly critical. Hispanics represented 1 in 8 U.S. residents in 2000 but are projected to be 1 in 4 by 2050.
Martinez, a Cuban émigré, says Republicans can't win the White House with today's level of Hispanic support. "It would be in my view virtually impossible," he says.
-
Still not buying that illegals commit fewer crimes. Regardless, they should commit no crimes at all because they should not be here.
-
Just illegally crossing the border is a crime, therefore, they are predisposed to
criminal activity already.

Yeah, you're mixing up two different things. John wanted to know if Democrats wanted more Latinos in the country. I said it doesn't matter to people what race the immigrants are. Democrats don't sit around dreaming of more Latinos in the country. Plus, Republicans are certainly free to compete for those votes as well. They're just not very good at convincing minority groups that they've got their best interests in mind. Because they usually don't.
I think the fact that campaigns are geared towards certain segments of the population is so obvious and unremarkable it's hardly worth pointing out.
