You will here me laughing from 700 miles away when he says he is staying in cleveland.

First take into account Lebron likes to tinker into sports marketing and ESPN is giving him a whole hour on primetime to hype up the King.

Myself, I hope he stays and we get a powerful center and a shooting guard to compliment him.

But if he goes they better watch the bridges for jumpers. Yikes! 😮

Not jumpers-we've survived the Drive, Fumble, Shot, MakeaMesa Choke, and the last two Cavs playoff bombs- I guess we can handle "The Betrayal" as well- AFAIK, The sun will still come up Friday, Lord willing even if LeBron bolts. And if that's the case he'll still only rate (a close second) to Modell in all time Cleveland traitors.

And Diehard- please cite your sources Wojanoroski Article Yahoo Sports

Let's look on the bright side of this- and I'll cite someone from Cleveland.com- even if LeBron leaves, we only have to deal with him for one season- there's a lockout brewing after the 2010-2011 season, and the Mayans say the World is coming to an end in 2012.

Cleveland fans could also go for the Guinness Book of records for the biggest bonfire in history, burning all those #23 jerseys on Public Square, with the 10 story "Witness" poster ripped off the Tower as a primer.

They need to keep the poster and put traitor on it in stead of witness

I say that if he leaves, they replace the "Witness" Mural with a Mural of Josha Cribbs or something like that.

Thats a great Idea, and put comittment.

  • I cant wait for the christmas match ups for the next 4 years. Heat and Lakers. I just dont see all 3 making it work down in Miami though, could be wrong. It will suck if 23 leaves but life goes on boys. It just means party twice as hard at Browns games, and support the local businesses not because of one player but because you love the city. Im still going to go to games and buy Cavs gear, just like I still get Indians crap after they have fallen off the map. If he stays great if he goes, take a deep breath and remember in like 15 days the Browns training camp opens.

Love it! 🙂 Not to deviate too much from the whole Lebron thing, but I'm glad that the Browns worked the deal out with Cribbs. If anyone wanted to play here it was him.

CLEVELAND – Angered and betrayed by LeBron James' decision to leave for Miami, Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert accused the NBA's MVP of quitting during the playoffs.

Gilbert, who posted a letter to Cavs fans on the team's website shortly after James announced his plans to sign with the Heat, told The Associated Press late Thursday night that it's "... See Moreaccountability time" for James.

"He has gotten a free pass," Gilbert said in a phone interview with The AP. "People have covered up for (James) for way too long. Tonight we saw who he really is."

Gilbert feels James quit on the Cavs during their second-round series against the Boston Celtics, who rallied from a 2-1 deficit to eliminate Cleveland.

"He quit," Gilbert said. "Not just in Game 5, but in Games 2, 4 and 6. Watch the tape. The Boston series was unlike anything in the history of sports for a superstar."

The Cavaliers were beaten by 32 points in Game 5. During the game, James appeared distracted and uninterested, often glaring at Cleveland's coaches as the Cavs tried to foul to get back into the game in the second half. James also made some puzzling postgame comments, saying he had "spoiled" people with his play over seven seasons.

Gilbert also said he believes James quit on the Cavs in Game 6 of their series in 2009 against Orlando.

"Go back and look at the tape," he said. "How many shots did he take?"

Gilbert, who has owned the Cavs for five years, said he was most disappointed by James' behavior in the months leading up to the superstar's announcement that he is going to Miami to play with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. Gilbert said James never returned a single phone message or text since the end of the season and that the Cavs were not informed of James' decision until he went on the air.

Gilbert said Rich Paul, one of James' business partners, called the Cavs moments before the announcement.

"LeBron James needs to go to another team with two superstars already so he can win a championship," Gilbert said. "We will win a championship before (the Heat) do."

Gilbert said he now wishes he had done some things differently with James, who spent seven seasons with the Cavs.

"It's not about him leaving," Gilbert said. "It's the disrespect. It's time for people to hold these athletes accountable for their actions. Is this the way you raise your children? I've been holding this all in for a long time."

  • he even took a shot at mother james. you can tell dan and the cavs fo put up with alot of crap in regards to lbj's mother and probably his crew to.

  • This is hilarious! If James would have decided to stay in Cleveland, he would be singing his praises. Gee- it sure takes a lot of guts to make these statements AFTER he decides to leave! Why not make these comments immediately after the series ended? Nothing has changed since then, right? Oh, wait...

What a joke. I'm not defending LaBron for his pathetic play in the Boston series, but this guy is ridiculous making these comments now. WHY would you even want such a player to play for your team? Why not say- "we don't want him- he's a quitter. Go play somewhere else" immediately after the season ended?

more comments I read. The whole world seems to hate us Cleveland fans... How can they know what it's like?

  • i guess you missed this comment.

dan gilbert has only 5 years experience in being a team owner. based on this quote, i'm sure gilbert's looking back and wishing he did somethings better. that all comes with experience.

and if lbj stayed with the cavs, that would've shown alot of character and guts which would've been worthy of praise.
