How will Harrison do this year at RB?

The Browns Board

  • ESPN has him rated as the 27 RB. Depending on your league that could put him in the middle to late rounds or just the late rounds. Assuming the league the OP is in is a 2 RB league without a flex position. The 27th rank puts him after everyone has their RB's, WR's and QB and maybe a TE depending on who is on the board. He's a late round flyer.

Rbs usually go fast, but I guess it depends on the league. If you have 14 rounds I'd pick him in the 7-9th.

  • Thanks all!

  • 1500 yds. and 10TD's I think he'd be a steal, but I know nothing about fantasy football

I don't think there is a chance in hell he runs for that many yards but that all depends on how good you think the Browns are going to be this year. 1500 yards and 10 TD's is a top 10 fantasy RB if not better. Harrison isn't going to be a top 10 back. I guess we'll see.

  • he had 860yds and 5 TD's last year starting what like 6 games, I dont think im reaching to far. With a better passing game and improved line its attainable.

with a better passing game they wont be feeding jerome the ball 30-34 times a game, and at the time last season when he broke out for those yards im pretty sure he was the only back left in the backfield except possibly jennings? this year he will be splitting time with hardesty, losing goalline touches to hillis, and could very well bump down to #3 or lower depending on the development of james davis. if anybody is worth picking in fantasy from the browns it would be one of our second year WR's as late sleepers

The passing game will open more holes, therefore the carries he gets will be even more effective. If he's getting 5 yards a touch with 9 in the box its pretty encouraging to see what he'll do when they have to defend the pass. Hardesty hasn't made it through a day of training camp will see how many touches he gets, If you dont think Harrison will be the #1 you're out your mind. It's a contract year to, he'll be playing for a contract and a big chip on his shoulder. Im expecting big things out of Harrison this year, but only time will tell.

  • your right that harrison will be playing with a chip on his shoulder, especially with all the talk about him not being able to carry a #1 back type workload, but with the number of weapons the browns now have not only in the backfield, but from their tight ends, more experienced WR's, and the emphisis on the Wild Dawg, the ball will be much more spread out than late last season. if harrison is carrying the ball more than 25 times per game i think we're in for another long, torterous season

yeah, this isn't happening unless hardesty and davis both get injured and we run 75% of the time.

  • Like I said only time will tell. But when you rush for 860 yrds and you didnt even play in 4 games had 5 or less carries in 5 other games, thats 9 games where they pretty much didnt use him at all last year. Call me crazy but through 16 games I think he'll have more yards...

your assuming that they continue on just as they did from the end of last season, when this is a new team, in what will be a new offense, behind a different qb, with teams knowing what he is capable of. you cant look at 4 games and say that that is how he will produce every game that he is featured in. football simply doesnt work like that. i see harrison finishing the year with 800-900 yards on the ground with another 200 via the pass and about 6 or 7 TD's. Feels wierd to say but we just have too many other guys that we need to get the ball to. a spread out, balanced attack is the only way we're having success offensively this year

We were an awful passing team last year, and that can only improve. I'd expect a much more balanced attack, and Harrison will be splitting carries with Hardesty. 1000 yards is very attainable if he plays like he has shown he can, but I don't think he'll get much more than 200 carries, and even that might be high for a platoon.

  • I want to go straight to the ones that know the most about Browns football on this one. I'm thinking of drafting Jerome Harrison in the later rounds of my fantasy league.

How many yards and TDs do you think he will have this year? I'm assuming he is your #1 RB and wont get beaten out by that rookie from Tenn.

Thanks and good luck with your season Browns fans!
