We're going to the Playoffs

The Browns Board

  • A 2-0 start would mean a 6-0 win streak. Its things like that, that makes a team believe in themselves and puts them over the top. Also I think we will beat Atlanta and New York. I think our secondary will be pretty intune when we meet up with Nola and the Pats, so I think those games will be closer than we think. If we get our running game going this year, we are going to really tough to stop.

  • Just once I'd love to see this team shut the haters up! With not having one prime time game this year, a new and credible front office, last years strong finish, and much improvement in our running game and defense, and the Lebron debacle, this would seem like the perfect recipe for the Browns to be one of those teams that does a complete 180. Baltimore is going to be tough, but I can definitely see splits with the Steelers and Bengals.

  • I think the Rubin / Rogers combo is going to do straight damage.

Sean Rogers was shutting down sweeps from the nose last year. Centers can't handle his rush, certainly athletic tackles that are used to handling speed ends are not matching his strengthIt's going to mean a lot of Matt Roths vs. a RB.

Rubin will do the dirty work, Rogers and co and going to be bringing it.

i could see us sweeping cincy, TO and chad JOHNSON dont scare me the slightest, we're going to run all over em and take palmer out for the season, dudes a glass statue. the steelers dont look very intimidating either. giving away their most dominant reciever and saying your going to emphasise the run behind one of the worst offensive lines in football and an unproven starter isnt a good recipe for success. not to mention they should snip off bens boys before he ends up being bubba's bitch in county

  • I can see it going down like this.....

    Divisional

    Home

    Steelers - W

    Ravens - L

    Bengals - W

    Away

    Steelers - W

    Ravens - L

    Bengals - L

    Out of Division games

    Tampa_Bay-W

    Kansas_City-W

    Atlanta-L

New_Orleans-W <------Probably wont happen but I'd to see us beat the Defending Champs for the 3rd year in a row....

    New_England-L

    New_York-L

    Jacksonville-W

    Carolina-W

    Miami-W

    Buffalo-W

10-6 but Baltimore take division. We possibly get Wild Card berth.

  • Any team can make the playoffs any year -- that is the beauty of the NFL. Will we? Realistically we've improved at nearly every position, and if our strong ending to the season was any indicator of how the players can perform on a weekly basis, then yes, we could be a playoff team. We happen to play in a division with two other teams who are almost always very good, and the Bengals who sometimes get their act together, so it is a tough uphill battle to even get a wildcard.

I'd be surprised if we finished last in our division this year, but I don't expect the playoffs. I'd love to win 12-13 games, but I feel that 7-9 is a far more likely number, and that won't cut it unless the rest of the AFCN stinks.

  • Really? Playoffs? I love the spirit but I am going to say 8-8 at the best. This is the Browns and I don't want to get my hopes up to once again hosting a Draft party because that is the only thing that we can ever look forward to!!

I get my hopes up every year, what's the point of going into a season thinking your gonna be 5-11. If that was the case I'd be fishing or mowing the lawn on Sundays.

A wise man once told me "Never strive to be mediocre" actually I just made that up. 😵

  • We are 0-0 right now and all things are possible..i dont think anyone can deny that ryans defense will be much improved this year and im liking what i see on both sides of the ball i try to fight the optimism but in the back of my mind i keep thinking the browns are going to turn it around this year vs a tuff schedule and shock the league i can just feel it deep inside...😉

its important to be optamistic about your/our team, but there is a place for realism. the browns are 2-3 years from being serious contenders. but with the pieces we have in place, when we finally hit that mark, it wont be for a season or two like the bengals. if colt turns out the way i truly think he will, we are going to dominate the 2010's and the 20's

  • hey If Neil O'Donnell can take a team to the superbowl we can make he playoffs.

The place for optimism is preseason and before everygame. The place for realism is after the game and at the end of the season when you wanna fire everbody

  • I think it's important for us fans to be the 12th man, and get behind this team! Stop selling your damn tickets to Steelers fans! Nothing worse than seeing 1/3 of CBS filled with those stupid towels! We were a significant impact in the 80s. We have the makings of a good team here. Let's get behind them! Furthermore, I think after the Lebron debacle this team is chomping at the bit to win us over, and prove that we are truly, and always have been a football town first!

Time to get realistic. We are very thin on offense. WR is a real weakness. Our D was quite bad last year but could improve drammatically. We are thin at RB. We have a QB shuffle going on with mediocre DelHomme, learning McCoy and the question mark Wallace.

The schedule is brutal and Baltimore and Cincy will be better than last year. Pittsburgh will have Ben both times we play them. Our own division has three winning teams in it not counting us. The rest of the schedule is brutal.

8-8 would be a real good season. Expecting more is living in dream world.

I like what is happening but it is going to take more than this year to turn it around

And rogers is useless and we should trade the old fat lazy gassed one

i truly think that Cincy was highly over rated last year, and it showed down the stretch and into the playoffs. I think that we match up pretty good against them

Thin at RB? Jerome Harrison, James Davis, Peyton Hillis, Chris Jennings and Montario Hardesty and we are THIN at RB?

  • our D wasnt really that bad last year. yes our secondary was suspect at best, but when the offense is going 3 and out 90% of the game and our D has to play 70% of the game their numbers will look a lot worse than it really is. Detroits D was/is exponentially worse off than us, and we had no right being in the same breath as those goofs

  • Below is the score's of our 2009 games against our division opponents. We were in every game except Baltimore at the beginning of the year. Now are defense is going to be light years ahead of what it was last season with the additions of Brown, Haden, Ward, Fujita, and Gocong. The offense will have another year in the system with a dominant O-line, promising young WR's with a year under their belt, a stable full of quality backs and a veteran QB to put it all togeather. I think we have a shot to pull out 3-4 wins within the division and another 6-7 out of division. That would put us at 9-7 at worst 11-5 at best. I'm gonna say we sweep the Steelers, split with Baltimore and Cincy and win 6 out of division games. Going 10-6 making the playoffs, I know this is wishfull thinking buts it not that unrealistic. When we get off to a 2-0 start against Tampa and the Chiefs this team is gonna belief, and from there we wont look back.

    Baltimore Ravens L 3 34

    Cincinnati Bengals L 20 23 OT

    Pittsburgh Steelers L 14 27

    Baltimore Ravens L 0 16

    Cincinnati Bengals L 7 16

    Pittsburgh Steelers W 13 6

    Out of Division games

    Tampa_Bay-W

    Kansas_City-W

    Atlanta-L

    New_Orleans-L

    New_England-L

    New_York-L
