CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Former Browns receiver Braylon Edwards, traded to the Jets last season, told the New York Times that he was just way too Hot in Cleveland.

He also slammed Cleveland and everyone in it for being unhip and unhappenin'.

"There’s nothing going on in Cleveland,'' Edwards told the Times. "There’s no real estate. There’s no social life, no social networking. All the people who have something going on leave Cleveland.

"So Cleveland has nothing, and I came in there with a New York-type of essence. So what? That was the attitude I came in with. Like, this is who I am. They didn’t like the flash.”

His mother, Malesa Plater, told the paper:

“He came from a team that was always looking for a savior to a team that knows how to win. No one would understand what he’s been through unless you’ve been drowning.''

Edwards played the tired, worn out card that people in Cleveland didn't like him because he showed up on the first day in an expensive Italian suit and a Bentley. He also played the "they didn't like me because I was from Michigan'' card. (Note to Edwards: fans didn't like you because you dropped pass after pass after pass...The coaching staff didn't want you because you refused to obey the rules).

Edwards and his Jets will visit Cleveland on Nov. 14.

It will be a rare treat around these parts to catch a glimpse of someone with so much pizzazz.

I envision Braylon (aka "hot boy") leaping high for a ball on a crossing pattern over the middle, then staggering around, looking for the ball AND his helmet after TJ Ward puts a hit on him.....I can't wait to see that.

What a loser. Seriously, what a tool with no self-worth. It's rampant across this 'what I own and who I know is more important than who I am" mentality that grips so many of the youth in America these days. His parents should be embarrassed rather than make excuses for this loser without integrity and pride.

If there is only one more time that edwards would ever catch a pass for the winning TD in the nfl it would be against us on november 14, but lets hope he catches ward to the backside for the fumble that wins us the game instead nevermind rex isnt that stupid he will send BE at eric "i cant turn my head wheres the ball" wright and or abe "damn im slow and weak" elam...😉

As for cleveland or any of the draconian state of ohio for that matter not being 2 hip...i wont disagree with mista im 2hot on that point..hehehehe

We have been rebuilding since 1964, Why stop now? GO BROWNS!

Love Florio or hate him, you're going to like this article:

          http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...t-at-cleveland/

I especially like the last two paragraphs:

If Edwards was drowning in Cleveland, it's only because he jumped into quicksand and asked for an anchor. Edwards' primary problem in Cleveland were his hands (or, more specifically, his inability to use them properly) and his mouth (or, more accurately, his inability to shut it).

So we'll check back with Braylon in a year, when he'll likely be a member of yet another new team, and he'll be blaming his failures in New York on those brief moments on Seventh Avenue when you think you've caught a whiff of crap and/or vomit and then just as your brain has acknowledged the existence of the odor it's gone.

          😆

Yep "New york essence" when he's from Detroit, this guy is an idiot I can't wait until he's done in the NFL, and I can't wait until he's gone from the Jets after this season, because he'll continue to drop balls considering he has 0 discipline and Rex Ryan isn't gonna help him any with discipline. And the Jets play in NJ anyway.

Btw like 90% of those tall buildings, if not more, are all office space so I don't get the constant glorifying of it, it just has a lot of people in a very condensed expensive place. I used to live there, yay $2,000 per month for a trash 2BR apartment!

Yeah exactly! This guy is a tool! I hope when we play the Jets this year, someone in our secondary lays is ass out! At least guys like T.O. and Ocho Cinco, while they're a-holes too, they can produce and actually... ummm... I don't know... catch the ball consistently when it counts!

seriously, what's wrong with these guys? braylon is making millions, he's long gone from cleveland and living in ny or somewhere in that area. why the hell is he still talking bad about us? move on with your life, you spoiled brat millionaire. what the heck are guys like him so mad about?

and cut the michigan talk out. aarron shea played for michigan to, but nobody hated on him. aarron was a class act. he had his ups and downs on the field (mostly injury related), but nobody ever dumped on him for playing for michigan because he didn't disobey his coaches and he wasn't a little diva. he was a footbal player who respected the team, coaches and fans.

what a loser braylon is. the worst kind of crybaby is a rich one.

Who does he think bought him the expensive Italian suit and Bentley? (Yeah, probably U-of-M, those whores).

The freaking tool was born in Detroit, attended Martin Luther King High School in Detroit, and attended Michigan ... yet was too 'New York Essence' for us. Haha, what an idiot.

Here's another Top darft pick, excusing himself because no one was added to carry him.

Just make sure you wear shoes with that Italian suit, ole delusional one.

My hopes for Braylon consist of him quiting football to persue his modeling career, then suffering a tragic burn, rendering him useless, allowing all to see him for the piece of **** he really is 🙂

derrick alexander was a michigan guy born in detroit and left us with no squabbles. he actually caught the ball. braylon is a diva. no real estate in ohio? i guess his escalade can't make it 20 miles outside cleveland to see some of the biggest steals in real estate today. i live 20 mins. above nyc and am dying to get back to ohio. only people that want to live in the big city are aholes anyways. me first people. i could walk down 5th avenue and say hello to 50 people and be lucky to get one response. f this place.

dude, are you really trying to call me out on some bogus crap that you just made up and accused me of? where in my post (or any post that i've made since i've joined this board back in november) did i say or even suggest that i have a problem with people that make money? i don't have a problem with people that make money. but i do have a problem with people (like braylon) who earn a great living off of the most poorest city in the country (cleveland), then cry like life is so unfair to them because they can't do whatever the hell they want to do without getting some backlash for their wrong doings. i do have a problem with self-entitled, spoiled, rich brats who make alot of loot and expect to get away with murder and have no one criticize them. that's what i have a problem with, sir. you must be one hell of a braylon homer! there was absolutely no reason for you to make your post.

Maybe if BRAY-LON could catch a cold he'd still be a Cleveland Brown. I don't think I've ever seen so many big time drops from a receiver. Yes he's made some great grabs as well but by and large the boy can't catch. He's the last dude that should run his mouth.

AKA SNATCH98 or Rorbotron. The boards glorious admins decided to get cute and change my name to "homotron" Classy group of people. (Lost a bet with Columbus king and got banned for a month)
