Maybe some hope for Braylon...

Braylon Edwards has single handedly cost us this season. We must trade him before he can do more damage. I know that Anderson was inaccurate and the defense folded in some games, but BE's drops at key times when he was wide open and hit with perfectly catchable balls would have won us at least four games had he just hung onto the ball. If you watch coverage you can see that defenses are doubleteaming Stallworth, Winslow and Steptoe because they don't have to cover Edwards. BE has thus destroyed our passing game. Also, because is always open due to the coverage, the QB can't help but throw it to a wide open target. Edwards always lets the QB and the team down by running the wrong route or bungling the catch.
Maybe he's trying to get thrown out of Cleveland. I don't care. Just get what we can for him in trade and get him the hell out!

He's shown just enough talent that I am willing to give him one more chance to see if he can turn it around. Not to justify his actions or even suggest I tolerate them at all, but see Randy Moss in Oakland for an example of exactly what's going on here. Braylon enjoyed having Shitty DA (as opposed to Good DA he had early last season) about as much as Moss enjoyed Andrew Walter and Co.
Guys at Braylon's age don't lose "talent," people.

he's also had no chance to get into a rhythm this season. once a player plays well, it's easy to continue that success. conversely, when a player plays poorly, it's hard to break that cycle.
a new season where he's in rhythm from the start and doesn't get cleated in training camp could get him back on track.
it's up to us as fans, though, to not jump down his throat if he has a few early jitters. which we won't.

I'm not willing to give up on BE either. He has shown moments of brilliance and ability. Something is not right and I think it is all mental. Somone mentioned earlier about maybe him being afraid to get hit, so instead of making sure he has the ball, he's thinking 5 yards down the field already.
But IMO, I think the guy needs to wipe out all the allusions of grandeur he has in his head for the future (michael phelps), and work on being a WR.

How can you be a number 1 receiver when you don't catch with your hands? If there is reasonable compensation available, send him packing.
Even when he makes a play (including last season) he rarely catches the ball cleanly and away from his body, so I don't think this is mental. He simply doesn't know how to catch.

New management and a real coach i can almost assure edwards is done in cleveland if he doesnt show up big in the training camp and continue impressively into the preseason..however if we keep savage and or crennel then edwards will stay as will our losing tendancy...

IMO, I think it's all mental (not that I want to argue). I think he is looking 5 yards down the field before the ball is in his hands. I think he has made some off the field distractions that are not keeping him in the moment. We all heard about the bet he had with Phelps right? Two TD catches per gold medal won. Well that's not going to happen now for obvious reasons. I think BE came into this season with self exaggerated expectations that he has placed on himself, and IMO, I think he thinks he is better than he is at this time. All the media did was pump up the entire expectation of this team this year and I think BE has this allusion of grandeur, and honestly it's coming back on him.
Don't get me wrong, I agree with what you say. How many passes bounced of the pads this year, or were in the "Bucket" and he missed them. Plenty, leads the league in dropped passest. Here is the problem. He should have been benched. He should have had to pay for the misses either with game time or with money. So I think part of the problem is coaching, management, and BE getting his head out of his rear end.
There has to be some type of consequence. If I don't do my job well, I won't be here long. Same should go for these self-elevated primmadonna's. Contracts need to be heavily performance based. Skill Positions are based on individual stats. OL and DL are bonus based on the number of sacks, blocked punts/FG, knocked passes, interceptions etc.. There has to be a way that owners, managment and the fans are protected from lack luster performers.
You start hitting these guys in the pocketbook and I guarantee they start playin' better.
