No way they should be 32nd. Come on, St. Louis lost at home to a DA led Zona team.
The one thing people fail to acknowledge - and I'm by no means making excuses for their piss-poor performance, is that this game was played in 91 degree humidity and rain.
I know that both teams play in the same conditions, but come on. If you completely ignore this you're a fool.

It's week one. I don't understand why people are so up in arms about it. However you did lose to the Bucs so in the bottom portion is exactly where the Browns belong. I believe CBS sports or Fox sports, one of those had the Browns ranked 27th but Pittsburgh ranked 3rd. No matter what people aren't going to be happy after a tough loss. It's still week 1. We'll see where everything shakes out midway through. It's nearly impossible to predict anything this early.

St Louis fought till they end. We just caved in after half time. I think we deserve to be placed 32. heck man - we showed a defeatist attitude both from the coaching and the player stand point and this against a team that is as bad if not worse than us.
I just hope it is an aberration and not a trend.

Formerly Stone said:
I wouldn't pay much attention to these ranking folks. Hell, Fox had the Bengals ranked #3 before the game Sunday.........doesn't that tell you something? These ranking are good for + or - 5 positions, or even more. All this means i s that the Browns are at the bottom somewhere until they get it together and then they will climb.
Right. I agree. Pay no attention to power rankings. Tell us who is in line to make the playoffs if they started today. (Obviously it is much to early for that. Starting around midseason would be the time to start tracking that)

The Browns had a chance to blow the game open. I think the Browns are a better team.
Don't sleep on St. Louis. Their D has some fire, and Chris Long looked like he will become a kick ass mofo in the NFL. Plus Bradford plays like a veteran. Rams are turning things around and I expect them to thump the Raiders this weekend.

Wow just read San Diego's home opener will be blacked out, lose one game to the chiefs and there fanbase is surfing on sundays

The fanbase in San Diego doesn't care about anything until the playoffs start. The team will be in LA before long.

Why does anybody do frigging "power" rankings? So 31 teams' fan bases have something to gripe about?
We can rank the 32 teams in the NFL based on ONE WEEK?! That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. It's a stupid exercise. The fact is that there's nothing saying that Tampa Bay can't be a good team this year. There's nothing saying that an improved St. Louis team won't contend in the NFC West. Last year was last year. Some teams at the bottom are headed up and some teams at the top are headed down. Some teams in the middle are thinking they're going up when they're really headed down (see Jets, NY).
We are presuming that the bottom five teams of last year will be the bottom five this year. Even so, the Browns beat the Steelers in December last year. No one picked that. Sports writers aren't smart enough to figure out what the true "current" talent on a team is and what it is capable of. It's just easier to vote for the previous winners and keep putting down the previous losing teams to the point where their fans have absolutely no hope...and it's only September.
THERE'S NOTHING THAT SAYS THAT THE BROWNS CAN'T WIN GAMES IN 2010! ESPN is a joke of a "news" network.

i don't even know why people care about power rankings from places like espn. who cares what they think or where they have us ranked at? the browns have been a bad team for most of the past 11 years. every time it seems like they're going to get it together, they go back into the basement of the afcn. results and consistent winning will force people to respect the browns. other than that, expect to get no respect.
personally, i don't need some pat on the back or validation from espn, si, fsn, cbs sports, message board trolls or any damn body else. i don't give a crap what any of those people think. they have absolutely no control over what happens on gameday. all they can do is make their predictions and post game analysis. the only thing that matters to me is for the browns fo to turn this team into a winner. in the bigger scheme of things, that's all that matters.
