Time To Make Some Moves?

i'm not really sure what the brass is going to do. jackson doesn't fir the mold. bringing in jacobs would be white noise. we already have a jacobs type in hillis and he has far less miles on his legs. all i know is, this offense is in much more trouble than originally believed and we have more holes than expected.

Cribbs is a nice play maker but he isn't a GAMEBREAKER... I wish we had one and I must admit, I kinda hope we start playing James Davis. Harrison is proving everyone that said he was a flash in the pants end of the year star right... (I would be one of those people)

That reminds me - WHERE IS JAMES DAVIS ?
This is the second game where he did not play! is he injured or is he not good enough ? Not saying he is the answer but im just curious.

Since Vincent Jackson is pretty much a guaranteed no - I wonder if maybe Brandon Jacobs would be a nice fit for Cleveland.
I looked at next season's draft prospects and it really seems like a crappy draft to me. I think it would be nice to go after Cam Heyward since he is looking like a top 5 pick, but I also think Cleveland could make a move or two for some top quality young players by trading some picks.
What are your thoughts?

Jacobs just signed a free agent deal with the Dolphins, thus I don't see picking him up. Jackson would be a better option for a trade over Jacobs.
Needless to say however, this team needs some offensive playmakers, but it also is in bad need of a pass rush. Not sure which need is greater.
That said, those need to be picked up via trade, draft, or FA.
Mike Vick is a FA. (But hell, he may be the Eagles starting QB for a few more years)
Some draft possibilities:
Jake Locker QB Washington
Andrew Luck QB Stanford
Robert Quinn DE North Carolina
AJ Green WR Georgia (better than MoMass?)
Adrian Clayborn DE Iowa
Marcell Dareus DE Alabama
Prince Amakamara CB Nebraska (may be too good to pass up)
Cameron Heyward OSU DT/DE

OK, sorry, when you said Brandon Jacobs I thought you were talking about the WR, former Bronco, now Dolphin

That's Marshall, not Jacobs.

Obviously this regime isnt interested in trying to add personnel that can help us win but i assume they have reasons i just hope going 0-16 to be guaranteed 1st pick next year isnt one of them...
Mangini went in to the season with everything he wanted and thought he needed but more important it appears he was short on foresight banking on jake to stay healthy...
I really dont get it why we arent going after some WRs that were available that could have helped seneca and especially jake when he returns..defenses are now on to our short passing and running gameplans featuring hillis, harrison and cribbs, watson and moore...neither robiskie nor momass seem to be able to step up to relieve these impact guys by helping to open things up and its killing us...stack the box in man coverage and win simple strategy for opposing defenses..
I an no fan of FA or getting ripped off doing in season trades for picks but our offense needs some serious help...unless things are going as planned...

The Browns dont have talent at many spots in our roster. Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace may be an upgrade over Derek Anderson and Quinn but they are not going to be a difference maker.
Braylon Edwards may have dropped passes consistently but atleast he was able to get separation and gave the opponent something to worry about. Kellen Winslow may have a busted knee but he was an amazing tight end. Joe Jervucius may have been old, but he was a huge target with safe ends. The three listed below were part of the amazing 2007 Browns offence. When the Browns lost all three of them they have not bought in anyone who was a worthy replacement for any one of them. Simply put the Browns passing game will be putrid because their quarterbacks are not amazing and they do not have anyone good to pass to.
The right side was an issue and the right is still an issue.
We were supposed to be a run first team but apparently we dont have enough backs to get the job done. There arent enough holes opening for Harrison to be good. Without the holes Harrison is ..... James Davis is yet to register a single down although he is recorded as an active member of the roster. Hardesty would have helped had he stayed injury free but unfortunately he has twice been injured and an other injury and we might as well concede that he is a bust. Hillis seems to be the only back that seems capable of gaining a few yards but those were against the weaker D. If we were to face a stout D or hillis were to face an injury I can so see the offence being unable to score.
Unless Phil Dawson can make 90 yard FG's I think we are in deep deep trouble ! I guess FA is the no shit way to make sure we can atleast stay competitive and there are enough holes in the roster that cannot all be solved in 2011 !

browns dont need a QB.....they dont need a RB.....what they need is another tackle and some WRs
cribbs is the best playmaker on the team but he isnt a true WR and robiskie and mohamed massaquoi arent talented enough to be #1 receivers in the NFL
a lot of mock drafts had the browns taking haden last season but would anybody have been surprised if they would've taken a WR?......i believe this is their biggest need right now from an outside opinion

I think there are so many holes to fill it is hard to do that with Mangini in charge. He is a disciplinarian and most young players don't go for that. I think that is why we struggle to bring in young FAs in the off-season.

I have a solution for that; If they don't like it, go bag f***n' groceries! These players get paid big bucks and IMO it's a privilege to be able to be that well paid to play a game! I'm so tired of the self entitlement!

That is one reason I hope we have a lock-out. Rookie Pay Scale FTW!

are young players the issue?
the brownies picked up a lot of good players this offseason. ben watson. peyton hillis. jake delhomme and seneca wallace. scott fujita.
mangini is also wonderful at drafting. he picked up so many great players for the jets and you can already see him making his mark in cleveland with all the talented picks. TJ Ward. alex mack. massaquoi. kaluka maiava. larry asante. montario hardesty(even tho hes injured). joe haden

If that were the case then the 49ers and Patriots too will have trouble as thier coaches are disciplinarians too. I think it takes a lot of money to attract good FA to Cleveland just cos of our record and also the potential Diva FA's who are out there are not Mangini types.
