  • I am not trying to call anyone out. But when brandon marshal came on the market and anquan boldin and terrell owens. Everyone goot so mad and said they didn't fit in with us, let's have our young recievers mature.

Our wrs can't beat anyone one on one. They have no sideline aweness.

Ur right those other receivers didn't fit, they are game changers..

We need to stop being homos and get a player lke vincent jackson..

i agree. Our WRs get no separation. It is a glaring weakness.

  • it'd be nice to have a guy to throw the ball to when all else fails...

  • We don't have talent at wrs. We have some good players but no one who can stretch the field. Any ball that isn't placed in there arms they drop.

    Where is frisman jackson

  • Stop whining. Rome wasn't built in a day. You'd want Braylon back? I think not....

Let's go forward and enjoy the improvements in these Browns?

  • Agreed it wasn't built in a day. But it crumbled in 1

Cal, all I'm saying iis if we had a solid threat at wr we would be a much better team.

I knw you have the passion, I just would like to see us get some people who are rock stars

  • Honestly last years whole draft was a HUGE FAILURE!!!!!! Veikune cut, Maiava IR but should be cut cause Titus Brown is better, Robiskie sucks , Massoquoi hopefully will continue to grow but dissapointing still, Davis not getting any time, Francies cut, Don Carey gone. Mack is the man but last years draft was a D- and we are paying for it now because we wasted our 2nd rounders.,

  • Look, until we get of the Dawg ridiculousness and recognize we have NOTHING at offensive skill positions and need to focus on having impact players at offensive skill positions and impact backups as well.........like championship teams do...........we will never climb the mountain........

Simple as it is........the guys who touch the ball most are what makes champions if they are indeed impact players..........WE HAVE NONE NOW..........thank you mr sewage

  • Exactly, so let's trade for one of sign one

If mack turns in to a pro-bowl player, which I think he will, it becomes a "A" draft.

One pro-bowl type player a draft is as good as it gets.

  • Agreed. Our WRs just plain stink. The QBs have to throw high or away to help prevent interceptions. Then, if by some miracle, the ball gets to them, they can't catch it or stay in bounds.

I bought the hype too about Mass and Robo improving. I didn't think we needed to go get WRs. But it appears I was wrong. We should have gotten Boldin or even TJ Housh. Then MoMass would be our #3 (or #4 behind cribbs).

We've been crying about QBs and Coaches for years. We need some offensive play makers.

The problem with those receivers is they are selfish. Correct me if I am wrong. But they need to sign a vet to help teach and play. A Chris Carter like guy.

  • We bad I saw somee post on terrel owenss and tory holt

    ***********************************************

WHAT? Those two receivers may not be super studs, but they are growing. They've been open, and haven't gotten the ball.

That's a bad sign. We didn't waste second rounders. This year's draft was outstanding. Why omit that?

Can you imagine if the Browns draft a wr in the high first round, a pass rusher in the second, and a RT in the third round?

All you need is Delhomme to be healthy, and McCoy to come on strong.

I think Seneca will bounce back this week vs the dirty, stupid, ugly stinkin ratbirds.

You know, this truth that you are telling us about last year's draft is depressing....knock it off. Quit being so brutally truthful!

Are you forgetting the Steelers 1974 draft? (4 Hall of Famers). THAT'S as good as it gets!

  • Hmmm.. i'm not so sure that "getting seperation" is the biggest dilema. Sure... Seperation needs to happen, but won't happen everytime. What you have to have is confidence in both the QB and the WR.

Watch teams like the saints, colts, pats, texans etc., Those QB's aren't always throwing to wide open recievers. Sometimes they are and sometimes they aren't. I have always had the theory that on a 1v1 situation, there is always a place to throw the ball so the reciever can catch it. And that is a huge difference and that is on the QB IMO. You also have to have confidence that your WR core will go after every ball and make attempts on them...

There are so many variables to this game it's really tough to pin point just one thing. We need smarts, we need talent, well coached talent turns into excellence in execution, and then there is the just plain out athletes who make things happen, like a wes welker. So many variables.. I just see us playing the game as it is written and not allowing the players to think outside the box.

Watching the 49ers and Saints game... in the last two minutes. guess who was calling the plays for the niners.. there QB.. UNLESS the clock stopped or a time out called the staff called the play. But he was out there making the plays and he drove them down for a touchdown and they converted for two to tie the game.

Do you think Mangini can let go of the reigns to allow that... I don't see that if it is happening..

  • Trade Jerome Harrison for Kevin Walter.

That's about the only thing we could offer Houston that they need, and they don't even really need that. Arian Foster might actually be the real deal.

That sounds cruel but very true. Hopefully this year's draft picks will pan out better.

I think a lot of it comes from the way practices have been. We all know how bad our team has been since we came back. For how bad our team has been, the practice squad has been worse. When our first teamers are running plays against the practice squad, they'll get seperation, they'll look good. The blocks will be there. But then they get to be overwhelmed when they get in the game.

Even when first teamers practice against first teamers, it's not much different. And that's because most of our first teamers were no better than practice squad players. Now that we've added depth and some marginal skill to the roster, we're starting to look a little better. And that's not just because of how these guys play in the game.

Adding Gocong, Fujita, and Roth to the linebacking corps instantly improves what we were putting on the field at that position, but it also makes our offensive line better. Because in practice, the O-line is having to block these guys. They're having to pick up blitzes that are better executed and faster than the ones they used to have to pick up in practice.

Adding Haden and Sheldon Brown is going to make our nickel defense one of our strong points, but it's also helping MoMass, Cribbs and Robo come along as receivers. Now they have to work harder everyday at beating the press and getting seperation. Unfortunately, it looks like they still need a lot of help on that front.

Nabbing Ben Watson was probably the best offseason move we made. Not only does he improve our offense by giving us another receiving threat, but he makes our linebackers have to worry about covering the shallow zones and watch for block release routes in practice.

I'm sure Colt McCoy has already come along pretty well in the short time he's been with us. He's probably advanced further than any of our previous QB draft picks, honestly. Those other QB's never had the same level of skill to play against day in and day out in practice.

Sure, we've dropped two games that were easy wins... but that's bad game management and inexperience. We're not used to winning yet, but we'll get there.
