Illinois, Northwestern will have 1 end zone
-
The dumbest thing I have heard all year. WTF?
CHICAGO (AP)—It sounds like something out of a backyard touch football game. No matter who has the ball, there’s only one end zone and everyone has to switch around when it’s their turn.
Turns out, that’s how Northwestern and Illinois will settle things Saturday at Wrigley Field after deciding that the friendly confines were just a little too tight—and a little too unsafe.
The Big Ten announced Friday that the schools had agreed to some drastic and unusual changes for the game at the home of the Chicago Cubs—including running all offensive plays toward the end zone that doesn’t happen to come within a foot or so of a padded brick wall.

From my Chicago residing cousin: "The NCAA. Both schools and the Big Ten were ok with it and signed off 8 months ago. Then ESPN and couple shows on there kept making a big deal out of it and the NCAA stepped in. Becuase of modifications made to Wrigley (worlds largest gay bar) over the years they could not lay it out the same as when the Bears played there years ago."

I have to say it's actually kinda cool to watch, although a bit weird. Kinda like the new years day hockey game they play outdoors.

Those outdoor Hockey games are the best, they should hold those in every city. I'm having trouble feeling the same way about the Worlds Largest Gay Bar having Tight ends.

Did they still have the other endzone incase there was a INT return? Which way would you return it

Usually not a lot of heavy traffic on pick sixes. Maybe they tell em to aim for the wide part of the endzone. Craziest thing

Ya there was a pick returned to the other endzone but they had to move back to the other side of the field for the extra point.. talk about stupid..

How would you like to be sitting close to the endzone not being used and have to watch the game played at the other end of the field all day. I'd be asking for a refund, or atleast a discounted price.
