  • amen!!

    In jon we trust!

  • In jon we trust!

  • It's that simple.

We need to see significant improvement on the field and in the W/L column.

Finishing the year 6-10 is only 1 game better than last year. That's nothing to get excited about. That's assuming we beat Cinci, but that is definitely not a lock.

We have accomplished some things this year. Saints, Patriots, OT vs Jets, Hillis and McCoy, stingy defense.

I recognize the potential, but potential don't mean shit in the NFL. Too many injuries and off season moves make teams change drastically from year to year. This isn't college ball where you know what to expect the next season based on your current roster. Teams should NEVER, ever be happy about talking about next year. That is loser talk.

Do the New England Patriots think about rebuilding for next year? Hell no. And don't give me any bs about all the talent they have because they don't. They have the league MVP in Tom Brady and that's it. They play with 5 ft 9 wide receivers and an NFL defense that is rated as one of the worst. YET, they win because of their coaching. Bellichik gets it done....period.

Quit making excuses for losing. I like what I've seen from mangini in some areas, mainly the defense, but this guy does not a get a free pass just for being competitive. If he has a sh*tty O-coordinator that can't produce anything on Sunday's then the head coach should can that guy and dissaccociate himself from a loser coach.

We are losing to teams we have no business losing too. That's a sign of bad coaching and is a sure fire way to NEVER make the playoffs. You think this shit will stop next year even if we do have talent???? WE'll be talented and lose to teams we have no business losing to and it will become Romeo Crenell all over again.

Yesterday's loss was a BAD, BAD loss. We've had too many BAD losses this year. I would rather eliminate BAD losses than have GOOD wins. WE have had BAD losses to Tampa, KC, Jacksonville, NY Jets (could have ran out the clock for a tie) and Buffalo. These BAD losses are the result of BAD coaching and personell decisaions.

Bottom Line: Stop making excuses for Mangini. I like him. But, if he doesn't win games for me...then he loses my support. PERIOD. No f*cken excuses. It's the NFL and everyone has excuses. Win or GTFO. Let's beat Cinci and split the Balt/Ptt homes games. If this doesn't happen than this season will considered a dissapointment and justification for the removal of all coaches.

Fire the OC. Replace him with a competent OC and grab some top top WR's in the draft. That will make us as good as the Houston Texans.

  • and hope we don't get another brutal schedule.

    This year's schedule was tough.

This is simply not true. Yesterday was the first loss against a "bad" team and it was on the road against a team that has been giving some pretty good teams a run for their money. The rest of the losses are against teams that have a combined 62-28 record. The Browns have the toughest schedule in the NFL and quite frankly anyone that was expecting a huge improvement in the W-L column this year is a moron. Also, if you can't see the improvement from this year to last without strictly looking at Ws and Ls then I hope it isn't people like you that make the decision on hiring and firing because there will never be any stability because they will be looking at a short term solution instead of looking at the long term which is what Mangini is working on.

it's better than sticking with some lame ass duck of a coach. there is a reason he's no longer the coach of the NYJ.

what's their record since he's left?

oh and just to save someone the trouble, yeah......i know bellicheat once coached cleveland and you all think he would have been the NE version of bellicheat if he'd only been allowed to stay, right?

wrong. bellicheat has done exactly 2 things in his coaching career to gain all the success and the *genius coach* label he has..............#1 he happened to start the greatest or second greatest QB of the modern era (how smart do you have to be to do that) and #2 he cheated.................alot.

so while switching HC's every year isn't good. so is letting a incompetent keep coaching just to "give him enough time".

i would say you guys need to "chin up" at the HC position, but the chin wants nothing to do with cleveland, he's got his sights and choice of picks on a couple of warm weather HC positions.

It also doesn't hurt the Bellicheat finds a way to have 18 first round draft picks every year. I hate the Patriots with a burning passion and can't stand the understated, hoody wearing goon. Good Coach or not that dude is not 100% true to the rules and always has some sort of off the wall deal in the works. He certainly knows his stuff, I'll never deny that but I hate em. Spygate was the final straw.

We can't beat them? We've beat them in the past and were cheated out of a AFC Championship game courtesy of spy gate. I'm also of the belief that Lebeau didn't pull out all defensive stops during the first outing because we may square off against the Cheaters in the playoffs. If we're going this route you should remind me of your record and then reference ours. Way to go Zombo. You always have a way of making a non-confrontational situation, confrontational. Probably because you're prick with a self inflated opinion.

So were back to not counting W-L's. Shooting for that participation trophy again.

This long term plan that Mangini has when is it supposed to pay off. This year looks like a 1-2 game improvement over last year. If the process continues next year then that puts the Browns at .500 still not likely to result in the playoffs. Teams that are just on the edge of greatness don't lose games like yesterdays and need the Panthers to miss a FG to get a win. All the Browns needed yesterday was to get in to the endzone once to change the day. Mangini's inability to make a change or his refusal to make a change is his weakness. Putting Wallace in for at least a series would have lit a spark under someone.

I'm not for switching horses mid stream but if that horse can't get you across the stream why stay on him. That goes for QB's and coaches.

  • We got a guy right now that can work for us, we just need a new OC. If we keep firing coaches every 3 years eventually no one is going to able for the job and then we are going to be stuck with guys that are coordinators or assistant coaches who want to get a head coaching job years ahead of when they should actually get one ie McDaniels.

I think you start looking at wins and losses next year. It is pretty clear that this team is almost over the hump and with a few additions in the offseason there should be playoff talk next year. I think getting FAs to come to Cleveland in 11 will be a hell of a lot easier than it was before Mangini took over. The entire attitude of the organization has changed as well and will eventually yield a winner. I'm sorry that so many of you remain so shortsighted. By all means, let's tear it down again and continue the coaching search in another two years because it seems like that cycle is working wonders.

  • Mangini just announced that if McCoy isn't ready... wait for it... Delhomme will start again! Wallace expressed frustration and Mangini said that's a good thing; he wants players to want on the field. Dar.

Mangini baffles me. He really does. Maybe it's like a Twilight Zone, where Mangini and Holmgren see something else entirely when they watch Delhomme play quarterback.

How about we just hire a new coach every year until we have a winning record! That will surely bring us back to the postseason...

it's better than sticking with some lame ass duck of a coach. there is a reason he's no longer the coach of the NYJ.

what's their record since he's left?

oh and just to save someone the trouble, yeah......i know bellicheat once coached cleveland and you all think he would have been the NE version of bellicheat if he'd only been allowed to stay, right?

wrong. bellicheat has done exactly 2 things in his coaching career to gain all the success and the *genius coach* label he has..............#1 he happened to start the greatest or second greatest QB of the modern era (how smart do you have to be to do that) and #2 he cheated.................alot.

so while switching HC's every year isn't good. so is letting a incompetent keep coaching just to "give him enough time".

i would say you guys need to "chin up" at the HC position, but the chin wants nothing to do with cleveland, he's got his sights and choice of picks on a couple of warm weather HC positions.

why should anyone on this BROWNS board give two F's about what your opinion is about anything. go sniff some ben bum, troll.

  • Mangini: Yes...Daboll: No

You can have that opinion just fine, but be careful or you'll wind up exactly like the Jets (you sound like one of their fans). It's always win now. A bad game, and it's "we need a new OC"... a hundred yard rusher and it's "we need a nose tackle to stuff the run."

These people don't have clue, but because they have their torches and their mob and their radio call-in shows and their chubby chowder heads, they usually get what they ask for... a new this, a new that, ... it's always the next thing and there's never an end to what needs to be fixed. They see all the bands but demand a refund because they never saw the parade.

So here's an idea: think twice about what constitutes success over the course of a season. Think about what ingredients the teams that win have in common. Pittsburgh, New Orleans, New England, Indianapolis, Giants, Ravens (ah em, sry). Think about it.
